AZGTO
Made some progress today! Most of the parts came in, just waiting on lifters now Got the new cam in, new timing chain in, and the most time consuming step today was installing the new melling oil pump. HUGE pain in the neck, but I finally got it all in. Tomorrow I will bolt up the timing cover and install the crank pulley, from there I will wait till the lifters come in! Team Adam's
You're making good progress! Pro tip: Put your pulley in the oven @ 250* for 30 minutes before you try to install it. 60% of the time, it works every time.
AZGTO
So I did some reading and found out that the Red Spring that comes installed in the Melling Oil Pumps is not ideal for stock internal engines since it is a high pressure spring. So since I hadn't yet bolted up the front cover I decided it was best to swap the spring to the Blue Spring, which is stock oil pressure. Had to lower the oil pan again, pull the oil pump out completely and then swap the spring. I got the oil pump bolted back in and the oil pan bolted back up, so now I am back to looking like this Tomorrow I plan on bolting up the front cover and installing the crank pulley, from there I am still waiting on the lifters, once the lifters come in then I can continue the rest of the work up top! Team Adam's
Good choice on the blue spring. The red is not for any streetable motor, WAY too much oil pressure. I ran a ported LS6 pump with my build and I saw ~70psi at cold start and ~40psi warm cruising.

AZGTO
Made some more progress tonight Bolted up the front timing cover and installed the crank pulley The lifters should be in any day now and from there I can measure my PTV clearance and measure the pushrod length. Hoping I don't have to flycut the pistons!
AZGTO
Top Gear Motorsports Finished up everything on the GTO once I found out the pistons needed to be flycut. Top Gear did an amazing job on the car and I highly recommend anyone that needs any work done to give Sean a call and he will get you taken care of. Here are the final pictures from the rest of the work that was done: Flycutting Heads were finally mounted on: and how it looks now: Dyno results and vids can be found here: http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/vehicle-mods/16781.htm#post291425
