Found my first scratch today...

and it barely catches my nail. About an inch long. May be able to buff it out. Thankfully you have to be holding your mouth just right, and catch the right angle from the sun to see it on the Ingot Silver.

 

Is it weird to say that in some ways I am relieved? The Rap is a daily driver. It's been scratch free since February. Ish happens, right?

 

I'm telling myself it's like the first scratch on a nice watch. If you wear it... it's gonna get scratched. If you drive it... it's gonna get scratched.

Yea, it's something that happens. Once you can accept it, things are ok. My DD (the TDI) got some small, barely noticeable chips in the hood and a chip in the windshield while on a cross-country adventure when it had under 10k on it. But that stuff happens... I'd rather have the chips and the experiences than to have had the car sitting in the garage while I spent those 3 weeks working.

I've got rock chips on the hood of the G8... Driving it daily on the highway will do that.

 

IMO cars are meant to be driven. Not to sit in a garage collecting dust.
