Gravel Driveway

Question

:help:

I want/ need to pull out the PC on my cars, however I have been afraid to since I moved to VA, because the townhouse I am renting has a gravel driveway and no garage. My question is do the "experts" think its safe to use the PC or not? :pc:

Here is are two pics of the driveway right after a quick wash and dry this evening.

Looks like my driveway..........or at least the road to it. You'll be fine.:pc:

Put paint canvases down around the car. Walk on those and you'll be fine.

Good suggestion. Heck... even spread one out and park on top of it.

Might also be worth your time to wet down all the surrounding gravel... if its wet it won't be dusty.

Thanks guys, I was planning on at least watering down the entire driveway during the washing process.

Looks like I will do the wife's Vue this weekend and my car next weekend.

Here is my plan

1. Strip wash with APC

2. Clay

3. Serve Swirl & Haze with Green Pad

4. Swirl & Haze with Orange Pad

5. Fine Machine with White Pad

6. Quick Sealant

7. Brilliant Glaze with Red Hex applicator

8. Americana with Americana applicator

9. SVRT & In and Out on all trim

Do I need to dry before claying?

Should I also do revive polish or is Fine Machine Polish enough?

Don't dry before claying. Use the water from your wash as extra lub. Also only use Ssr and shr if needed. Always start with the least aggressive method first

I do this to my drive way before I detail my truck. Never know when some idiot is going to pull in the driveway and stir up all that dust!

I would 100% dry because if you don't dry and the car air dries you are left with water spots and water spots mean dirt!

Thanks guys, I stopped at Lowes today and picked up a tarp so I will cover the ground around the car after I wash it.

Kev -

Drive your butt back up to PA and I'll help you polish out your GTO again. I have a Flex now and we could tackle that thing in no time.

Charlie-

I wish I was still up there, then I would have a garage to park in and I would defiantly let you help me, like last year. I'm doing Lisa's Vue tomorrow and then hopefully the GTO next weekend. I haven't taken the PC to the GTO since you and I did it last year.

The tarp will do just fine. I use an old pool cover/tarp that I park over when I do my truck. Works great. Good luck with yours.
