I'm gonna need a couple hundred of those eye holder things shipped out Its the not so well kept secret that companies want your attention... we're no different! The daily special is a way to entice you to check the forums at least 1x a day... if we turn a small profit/break even/take small loss on it we're good with that. Consider it "marketing expense" but rather than paying an ad firm to put a billboard up that you might drive by we sacrafice margins so that you'll WANT to be here. make it strawberry scented and i'll take two. Marketing and product evaluation group, i've noticed. Adam's seems to do better than MOST at listening...and reacting...to it's customers thoughts and opinions. Which i find impressive. Being heavily involved with a scuba center, we have discovered that advertising is a strange thing, you can do it shotgun style, like radio and billboards, expensive and heard and seen by a lot of people, but are you really getting the people who are likely to be customers? What we have found that doing outdoor shows, that target hunters, and fisherman, really are our customers, neither are most radio listeners, so you can spend a ton of money and not see a return. It's better to put a small investment in something, that you know is being seen by people who are your customers rather then hitting thousands of people who are never going to become customers. I can also sight the example of the first time Adam came to Spring Carlisle, ton of people but sales were, not that great...then when the team was at Corvettes At Carlisle, Adam sold out of product! The difference, less people at the Corvette show, but the Corvette folks were certainly more of the audience Adam's was aimed at, the 'Vette people knew and appreciated a quality detail product, whereas the folks at the other show just didn't have the same interest in detailing. However I am completely over satisfied with the discounts Adam's already has in place along with the Daily Special and many more other promotions.
