Sitting in Kabul...dang fellows I miss my rides

Hello everyone, and Happy New Year...

I am deployed for a year in Afghanistan, been here since June...and have another 6 months to go...

Just got back from R&R, so had a little taste of home but boy do I miss my Vette...I think I have having detailing withdrawal...does Adam's sell anything for that?

I was on a mission today in Kabul and I saw a few Afghans washing their vehicles...it was pretty funny considering "our process"...budget of dirty water on the side of the road is what they are using...no soap, and I do not think they would know what to do with wax or a polish...

Anyways, reading all the posts, thought I would say hello!

:pc: Miss my Porter Cable!

If it makes you feel any better is cold and decidedly non-car washing weather here in the dc area. Ad I think they got about 5 inches of snow down in Richmond last week. S you ain't missing nothing here!

Stay safe over there, and thanks for all you guys and gals are doing. :patriot:

Be safe over there sir!

Can you guys get shipments where your at? Order the hand polish kit and give the locals a little tutorial, would make for some sweet 50/50 shots! The pics would be priceless.

ah...the smell of Adam's Detail Spray...like homemade apple pie...ok, maybe not...but close:)

All is well here, thanks for the support...

I can only imagine me, with my team in full battle gear trying to explain the importance of claying a vehicle first or proper use of the porter cable...in this place...that would be quite a challenge since few speak english and not many of us speak Dari or Pashtun...but that would be one for the photo ops...

Sounds cold in DC, and down south to Richmond. My wife is in Hampton, and received some snow as well...cold too...here in Kabul we are surrounded by snow capped mountains, actually a pretty amazing sight...and it is cold...feels like my days growing up in Massachusetts...

Things here are going well...again, appreciate all of the support

Besides my lovely wife of course, one thing to look forward to is my soon to be New 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT...I am ordering it next month from the military car sales...Deep Cherry Pearl...dreaming of the first detail job I give it in June...the things we appreciate right!

Alright, getting late over here...so will sign off...

Sounds like you need to do the same bro, you guys have been busy done south...you stay safe!

I am loving your ride...from the pic...looks very nice...

I am missing my 08 Vette Z06...Victory Red. Saw it last month while home on R&R, looked lonely in the garage covered up...

How much longer do you have over here?

Stay safe up there. I feel your withdrawal pains as well brother!

Until early summer. We didn't get saddled with the full year tour fortunately. I am sure the sight of your Z06 all covered up like that was a bummer. Currently, my 350Z is sitting on jacks under a cover in my garage too. The '55 in my avatar is in the shop undergoing a heart transplant. :D
