New from South Jersey

New to adam's products and to detailing but, just placed my first order with adam's yesterday and can't wait to receive it and try everything out on my truck next time we get a warm weekend. Truck is only 6 months old and is a victory red 2013 silverado crew cab with 9" of lift on 35's. For products I went with, car shampoo, detail spray, clay bar, revive hand polish, buttery wax, green wheel cleaner, and glass cleaner. Any other products anyone recommends I get?

Thanks everyone

A fellow South Jersey-ite!  Welcome Jim!  Looks like a pretty good starter kit you have there - might want to think about adding some TID & SVRT to round out your collection...otherwise you're in good shape.

Yeah I was planning to order both of those before I get started on the truck, Which going by how the weather looks it may be awhile before I can.

Welcome Jim! Thanks for your business, and it's funny, all this South Jersey.....

My Dad is from Hammonton, NJ, "Blueberry Capital of the World."  Spent every summer of my childhood riding motorcycles through the peach and berry farms there.

Go Blue Devils!!!

:hi: Welcome to the forum Jim! Now let's see some pics of this big red bowtie!

This is how the truck sits right now, the lift kit and kooks headers and y-pipe, and n-fab nerf bars are sitting in my living room waiting for the next warm weekend that there is no snow on the ground to be installed. (This pic is from last fall when the truck was only 3 months old and I put the leveling kit and 20's with 33" tires on it. )

Decided to take advantage of the 15% off deal going this weekend and just ordered up revive, SVRT, APC, and TID so now I'll be good to go once it's warm with plenty of work to do on the truck between detailing it and the boxes of parts I have sitting here.

Welcome from a former South Jerseyite. Still get there from time to time to visit family. Would definitely suggest SVRT and Brilliant Glaze. Also, did u get MF towels? Where in SJ do you live?

Got some SVRT coming but, Didn't get the glaze this time. When its due to be detailed again I may try some then. After spending so much on products, I want to see how they do before I spend any more money. Didn't order any microfiber towels yet but, Once we get a forecast for a warm weekend I'll order them up. I'm in Hainesport/Mount Holly area.

Welcome to the forum! My father is from Camden, my mother from Vineland. We are in South Jersey visiting all the time. Was @ the Pic A Lilli Inn on 206 last weekend.

There are a ton of Adams addicts in the S Jersey/SE PA area. Make sure to make a clinic or show where Adam's will be present. We will be hosting a clinic about an hour from you on 03May.

Btw, truck looks good. You'll love the lift. You can def fit 37's under a 9" lift. Make sure to sleeve or buy heavy duty tie rods. I highly recommend beefing the trans too.

Thanks and I can't wait to get the lift and headers on it, now if the weather would just cooperate it'd be nice. Those are the main reason I don't want to go over a 35" or 295/65r20. Most say once you get above a 35" tire in a 1/2 ton truck that's when you start going threw parts which I do not want to have to deal with in a brand new truck that I daily drive in the spring/summer. I do plan to regear the truck to a 4.56 gear to help the trans out some. Truck does have the heavy duty tow package also. At some point I would like to do a cam swap so that's when I'll beef up the trans and change the converter but, that won't be for awhile. I already spent a lot more on the truck this winter then I expected to.

I would like to make it to one of adam's clinics but, I won't be able to make it to yours. That day I'll be at Cecil County Dragway doing photography for the street car shoot out.

The GM lifts are easy with the torsion bars.  Does your lift push the front wheels out and require larger wheels?

Sorry to hear you can't make it.  There will be more in the summer and fall.  They are working hard at Cecil to make it a fast track.  Halsey is always good to us when we bring our car there.  Hopefully you can put the camera down and get a couple passes in!

Yes it pushes the front wheels out 1.5" per side so I have a set of 1.5" bora wheel spacers for the rear to even the track width back out.

Yeah, out of all the local tracks Cecil is by far my favorite track to go too. Halsey puts on a great show for the fans/racers and knows how to run that place smooth. I live 20 mins from atco but would gladly drive right past it to go to Cecil. And nowhere in the country can match the quality and amount of cars he gets monthly for Outlaw 10.5 and the Yellowbullet nationals are the best small tire race of the yr.

Hoping at some point I'll get to make a few passes, I just need to get back motivated for my car. I have a 94' mustang I was building for Ultra Street. Chromoly 25.5 chassis, all team Z suspension, strage struts, Afco d/a coil overs, Baer SS4 brakes, ford 8.8 rear. Plans for drivetrain were a 370" lsx with a single 80mm turbo and power glide trans.

Mustang sounds like a great car!  My brother is building a '92 Camaro with a 355, single turbo.  Just it, rolling chassis as a budget street car project, should be around 900hp.

He used to have a 10.5 Camaro, small block, started singles, then went twin 80s.  Made 2600.  Was @ Cecil many times.  Got kicked out of there once with it (when Halsey wasn't there)!  We set the Heavy Street World record with it in '04, won the NSCA championship in '06 and was runner up in '07.

  • 2 weeks later...

Finally got a chance to try out some of the stuff I ordered. On Sunday while it was nice I decided to detail the interior of the silverado and was extremely pleased with the results. TID cleaned everything up with ease and green glass cleaner worked great, the best glass cleaner I've used so far. Over the weekend I also purchased a black 2002 chevy s10 xtreme with only 60k miles so it will be a good test for the exterior products I have here to see how they can shine it up.
