How to polish aluminum wheels part polished part brushed aluminum

c66vet

Question

Inguiring to find out how I can polish my Schott polished and brushed billet aluminum wheels. I want the polished part to shine, however I do not want the bushed aluminun on the wheels to look polished. Schott Modsports.  I have recently purchased the Adams Wheel polish 1 and 2.

I am not sure about the brushed part (I would recommend taping over that area for now), but for the polished part check out Dave's (BRZN) thread on his wheels - Polishing Forged Wheels Continues.

Can you post a picture of the wheels so we can see the brushed area.

Edit: Fixed the link, but also see Dave's links below.

I agree with Michael, if you can post a picture of the wheel or a link to it, that will be helpful - it looks like Schott has quite a few wheel designs!

I'm assuming the wheel rim/lip area is polished and the center spoke section is brushed aluminum. If that is the case, I would recommend as Michael stated, to carefully tape over the brushed areas with a low-tack painter's tape or automotive tape, and to be extra cautious polishing at the lip edge where the lip meets the tape.
