694doorbird
My wife brought home a couple old(vintage) pennants. One has mold damage. Will All Purpose Cleaner or Interior Cleaner get it out, or make it less noticeable?
0 mc2hill
Best to try diluted distilled white vinegar on the mold. Dilute with distilled water and try on a not noticeable spot first. Kingsford
0 BluedogGMC
Whatever you use I would do a test spot just to make sure the colors don't fade or run first. They did not use color fast colors back then. You might try White Vinegar to kill the mold and it might clean it some. Then I would try All Purpose Cleaner but like I said try a small spot first. LOL. I must have been typing while mc2hill was typing. Edited February 16, 2016 by BluedogGMC
0 Rich
My wife says put woolite in a spray bottle or squirt bottle and dilute the mold spots, then blot them with a clean cloth. On the white ONLY, you can spot clean with a little bit of bleach as well. Then take a wet, clean rag and blot again to take the dirt and product out, then put them between a folded towel and press to dry. She's the boss when it comes to stuff like that. VERY little bleach...and only try it if the Woolite doesn't do the job. Rich
0 Odds and Ends
As others have said, white vinegar will kill the mold and you must do that first to prevent it from continuing to grow. After you get rid of the mold, I'd give Carpet and Upholstery cleaner a try for the actual cleaning.
