Tire and Rubber Cleaner on White Letters?

I really like the new tire and rubber cleaner, but I noticed something when I used it on my truck tires that have white letters.  It looked like the white letters were being dissolved.  It was dripping white around the letter area when I scrubbed the tires.  Is this cleaner supposed to be safe for white letters?

Yes.  I use it on mine, with no problems.

Your cleaning the oxidation off the letters.

My '64 Corvette has whitewalls and TRC works fantastic, haven't noticed any issues.

Haven't noticed any issues on my white letters on the Cherokee.

Ditto all of the above. I'd had great results, too. Clean away!
