Using BG AND PS combo questions

Colorado_evo

Question

For people who have used both as a combo. I plan on picking both of these up tomorrow while I'm in Denver tomorrow. I want to know about the brilliant glaze, the product description says fills minor imperfections, what is considered minor and also, when stacking paint sealant on top of the brilliant glaze do I have to wait a certain period of time to do so or can i do it immediately? My other question is when layering the product, will I still get the "filling" properties from the BG or will it be effected to any degree by the PS? Thank you in adance.

Edit: I'm new here so I'm not sure if this is in the correct section, I also tried the search feature and came up empty so sorry if this has been asked and answered already. thank you.

Adam says there is not issue with applying Brilliant Glaze, wiping off, then (no wait time) applying Paint Sealant, and I have done it some myself.  But there is the school of thought that the Paint Sealant (most sealants and ALL coatings) works best on 'bare paint', so having BG on first would not allow PS to bond as well as possible with the paint.

Don't pass up picking up the Brilliant Glaze though, it works well for other things too -  on interior glass to reduce fogging, blinging out chrome and glass, cleaning matte vinyl stripes, and more!

When you did it yourself, how long did the PS last and did you still get any filling properties from the BG? Also what's considered minor imperfections? Does that mean very unsociable swirls that can only be seen in certain light, because that's what I have right now.

I plan on doing a paint correction when I can spare the extra money on a DA polisher and product but want something to make the paint look as nice as possible In the meantime if that's understandable.

Edit:or if you or anybody have any other suggestions I'd be welcome to hear it as well. Thank you very much

Brilliant Glaze will fill very minor scratches in the clear coat. It can be applied in direct sunlight, or a shaded area. Its very easy to apply and remove as well.

Brilliant glaze does fill minor imperfections and it does so very well.

It also adds a ton of shine and doesn’t build up.  I use it often for some extra pop, takes only a few minutes.

Did it today in  90° heat on a hot truck.  No issues.  Pic below

For your other question about longevity of PS afterwards,  hard to say, because i re-up my protection often

That looks great Nick, do you use paint sealant on top of that? If all I have to do Is reup protection with the paint sealant I'm fine with that. How often do you do so. Thank you

Sounds awesome lol

I'm guessing I would be fine with just using the BG and Paint sealant from the sounds of it and just layering it as much as I want with BG like every week or so and every so often with the paint sealant for the paint protection. Or maybe the ceramic boost would be nice on top of the paint sealant, havent really even thought of that. Thanks for the tips and advice. I'm loving this community already and glad I chose Adam's polishes for the community alone.

Yea absolutely, that will work,  I love PS because it reminds me of the beach/sun lotion however,  GnG and CB would probably be the quickest and easiest re-ups.  Both providing at least 2 months of protection

Alright, so if I have this right, brilliant glaze,  paint sealant, and reup with h20 guard and gloss, and claybar. Then every 6ish months do a new layer of brilliant glaze topped off with paint sealant. Sounds like a killer plan, thank you

Edit:of course claybar before the first brilliant glaze and paint sealant I'm guessing.

Hmmmmm I’ve never used the PS on my Camaro. The BG and h20GG WORK SO GOOD and give it such a pop it’s amazing. I have since sealed the car with liquid ceramic wax and now just use use CB usually after hitting it with a WW and then the CB.

just bought a new black Yukon and getting ready this weekend to detail it but kinda confused as to what to do. I may use the PS and go from there.

‘’Anyone have advice for detailing a brand new vehicle black at that?  Not to mention the dealership did an absolutely horrible job detailing at delivery.  Should I strip wash first and clay a new vehicle?

Highly recommend PS, especially for a daily. Protection lasts ateast 6 months. Yes, you should still strip and clay a new vehicle. Also strongly consider Iron Remover to further remove any residual rail dust. Then polish, seal, and HGG (or wax) and watch it shine like a new penny! Post some pics when you're all done.

Adam's PS is advertised to last at least 6 months. Maintaining with HGG, which is an acrylic product like the sealant, or the Ceramic Boost, which is a silica-based product bht still higly effective, will ensure continued protection and shine.

If I remember, your car is white, right? Assuming so, here's an example of the results I got this spring with strip wash, clay mitt, CP, and just PS. 3+ months and counting and my PS is holding up just fine. Adding HGG only adds more protection and makes it shine that much more.

Yep, you'd be fine. But I really recommend HGG.

Strip wash it first to remove any residual wax, etc. Then yes, clay will be recommended. Before clay, you could do the baggie test, as well, if only for grins to see (feel) the difference after clay. Another tip: Don't dry the car after rinsing the strip wash...it'll help add more lubricity in addition to the DS. Also, each time you clay, just be aware it may cause some marring of the paint so a polish may be in order. Swirls obviously aren't as noticeable on white, but you may need to polish no less. When you do reapply the PS, be sure to strip wash it again, clay, etc. Another product to recommend but I haven't used but have seen in action is the Iron Remover, especially on white. If not available, WC is another option; just don't let either dry on the paint.

Oldie but goodie video from Adam on layering with PS, BG, BW and Americana. Note neither HGG nor Ceramic Boost had been released yet, and Patriot, I think, was a limited release at the time (someone that's been around Adam's longer feel free to chime in...video is from September 2014).

He even gives a shout-out to the forums on here...pretty cool. And the forums have exploded in membership since. 10K members then to nearly 17K today. But who's doing "wild and cray" stuff on here?!

I do not believe the BG 'base' affected the longevity of the PS, but like the others, I will add H2O G&G every few months (I do it part of a Rinseless wash), so (like the owl and the Tootsie Pop) I may never know!

Ok guys, so just finished dropping my wife off at DIA and dropped by Adam's Polishes showroom. I am super impressed by their enthusiasm, helpfullness and customer support. I walked in and the guy behind the glass office walked out and greeted me, not sure who he was but I'm guessing someone higher up, then he he went out of his way and went to the back to make sure someone was there to help me. He greeted me, asked what I needed help with and i just told him I was looking to get some BG and some PS, he said no problem and even threw in a free red hex applicator, and then I noticed that they had some USA Limited edition spray on the shelf and asked him how much it was, he told me he could sell it to me for 10 bucks.

So he totaled it to 50 bucks, not sure if that's just from the top of his head or just a round number to help me out but seemed like a great deal already as it was saving me money and shipping. So I tell him I'm going to pay 37 in cash and the rest on the card, and when I hand him the 37 he told me I was good to go and not to worry about the rest. I am absolutely floored and blown away. I'm I'm going to be an Adam's customer for life on the service alone. So friendly, and the store front guy seemed like he wanted to be there and was happy. It's something I've never experienced.

Too cool, Elias. Bet you're wishing you only had $7 cash ?. I know Emery works behind the glass, and he's known to be super helpful, so maybe it was him. But either way, Adam has an awesome staff all around... Happy to hear they took good care of you!

Yes, they are very helpful at the showroom. Was beyond impressed and above any of my expectations. Looks like Adam's is going to be a  permanent stop when I visit Denver.

Now a question, so I didnt realize this until I got home and I should have known better, but do i absolutely need an applicator to apply the BG or PS because i only left with one. I can order another one from the site, but was wondering if it would be alright if I applied it with a microfiber towel since I completely forgot  I needed 2 applicators. Also the paint sealant says to use a black applicator but cant find it anywhere on the site. The only black applicator I could find was the one for tires and dont think it would work for paint.

The "black" applicator is actually the grey MF applicator, and they work great for PS and BG both. Get them if you can; and if you have a polisher, the grey pad is color coded for the PS. If you only have one applicator, I'd recommend you use it for the PS as even coverage is more important with that than the BG. Towels might work ok with the BG, but I've never tried. What kind(s) do you have?

Have some microfibers from the oriellys part store. i know not the greatest but I'm slowly trying to convert to higher quality better stuff. I also have the edgeless microfibers and a great white drying towel which I got in my mystery bucket.

Hmm. I wouldn't recommend the cheap ones, and the edgeless might absorb too much to be effective. Same with the great white, not to mention it's a bigger towel. Do you have Eco APC to clean the applicator before BG?

I dont. Seems like I'm in a bind lol. Well, might have to hold off on the process till I can order some more applicators. I messed up on that one and didnt even think of it.

No need to hold off, I don't think. Unless you're set on BG first. I'll echo the general rule is most durable first, then layer over that. But it's your car. Either way, this is yet another sign of the addiction setting in! Happy ordering!

I really only want to use the BG first is for the filling properties, just to hold me off till I can buy a swirl killer to polish the paint.

This is probably my favorite combo for a metallic car Brilliant Glaze with Paint Sealant.  On non-metallic car, just regular Paint Sealant.

Well, I ended up getting another applicator, washed, clayed, washed again, brilliant glazed, and then paint sealant. Very pleased with the results. I know it's not as good as if I polished the car, but I'll do that when I get a swirl killer. Its shining better than it was, and it already looked good before, but now it feels like glass.
