Makes the job extremely quick, and helps with even distribution and easier removal (not that application or removal was ever hard) Editguy and pirahnah3 1
0 falcaineer
Also recommend you apply on a low speed...2, 3 at most. pirahnah3, Editguy and Nickfire20
0 shane@detailedreflections
It could be, but why? It goes on and comes off easily enough by hand. And hand application of the final layer let’s you really inspect your work. I cant think of a time we ever applied our last step by machine. That being said if you really want to, use the lowest setting on your machine. You are not performing a mechanical process like polishing so you don’t need the speed. Less speed will equal less sling. rrmccabe, Nickfire20, Editguy and 1 other
0 pirahnah3
@Nickfire20 @falcaineer and @shane@detailedreflections are all spot on. Red or Grey pads, low speed, and in a lot of cases I would ask why. I say a lot, because I have done it once myself, and I didnt notice any extra benefit to doing it. The reason I did it thou was that my arms and shoulders were just BEAT from doing a full detail on the vehicle that day and I just didnt have the effort for the movement. I even tried to cheat and put a towel under a pad and removed it that way...That didnt work as well as one would hope and I ended up spending a fair bit of time chasing bits all around the vehicle. In short, yeah you can do it...but for the reasons stated above, why? Editguy
0 Editguy
Thank you all for your input. I'm pretty much still a noob at detailing and I'm kind of thinking out loud exploring my options.
