Spring Cleaning

airhog

Question

What is the best way to thoroughly clean my daily driver after a harsh winter with salt from the road, cold temperatures and lots of snow? I was thinking of first bringing it to the self serve car wash and blasting off all the dirt and grime. Any suggestions?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Thanks.

I was looking for a more thorough approach meaning what to do after the snow melts and the roads are clenaed. The video is good for winter season washing not really good enough for spring cleaning on your car.

Yes I did watch the videos and it still doesn't tell me how to do a good spring cleaning. Any suggestions from anyone (other than saying watch the videos)?

Maybe you should send Adam a PM and see if he will make you a Spring Cleaning video. Or better yet maybe check with your local Adam's dealer, maybe there will be a clinic you can attend :2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:

Just what exactly is it you think is different in the spring than any other time of the year? Road salt?? You can power wash if off of your undercarriage and wheel wells, then just wash your car like normal, and then just do a full detail. You should be good. You can do the wheel well power spray at the car wash, and wash it there, then drive it to wherever you go to do the detail. Not rocket science here. The videos will help you each step of the way. Watch them, study them, learn from them, and do what Adam says.

I was just looking for some advice I don't think I need to be put down for asking a question. It doesn't make me feel too good when you are calling me dumb. If anyone has any advice for me please post it because it is greatly appreciated.

WAIT A MINUTE! I was NICE! I answered the question nicely! And Bill gets the pat on the back? Nobody loves me.

Yea, you see how this works:

Your name is Adam and you wash your cars in a coin-op place = lots of love.

You drive a Vette and your name is rich = no respect.

I feel your pain, buddy.

Take it through an touchless auto wash with an under carriage sprayer. Just get the cheapest one with the under carriage though. No hot wax or anything. Then take it home and wash it by hand starting at the top and working your way down making sure to rinse your mitt (or what ever you use) a lot. Then dry, clay, and wax... If you want to make it an all day affair then use a PC DA machine and have at it.

Sorry if you took my advice to be hurtful to you. I was being direct and answered your question honestly. What else did you want? I answered your question and gave you advice. Isn't that what you wanted? Am I missing something here? Nowhere did I ever call you dumb. The advice to watch and learn from the videos is exactly what I did to learn how to detail cars. Adam's videos are spot on and step by step. If you watch them, you'll get the hang of detailing and getting the results you're looking for. It requires a bit of your time and effort, but that's honestly the best way to learn how to use the products.

Geez.
