My first time-G8GT-Black

14 months and 20K miles after buying it, it needed some help. I clay barred and then used my new PC with orange, white and black pads. These photos are after the machine fine wax and some detail spray. My butter wax and glaze are on the way. Weather is overcast and it is suposed to rain, nauteally, so I could not get very good photos but here it is:

The color looks deaper than it ever has. It is a metallic black so it can look almost grey sometimes. I got most of the swirls and scratches out. This was as much a learning exercize as it was a detailing. I wanted to get through the entire process to see what it really too and how hard or easy it was. I see that I could have spent more time and gotten even better results but now I'm not overwhelmed about doing it. I'll post more photos after the BW and glaze. Thanks to everyone for your help and guidance. It really helped.

Thanks everyone.

Nice looking ride! Im assuming its a gt form the thread title so nice brembo upgrade and rims... pretty much the two best thing that the gxp has imo.

Thanks. The Brembos were a very easy swap from the GXP. The rims are 20 x 8.5 pieces I brought in from Australia.

Everything takes practice.
I agree. This was not hard to do at all. For me it was keeping the right pressure. I maked my pad holder like junkman and tried to maintain pressure such that the mark rotated about once a second. It got easier to do as time progressed.

I think now that I've been over the entire car, I will work a panel completely until it is as good as i can get it then move to the next. This time i wanted to make it better and get some protection on it. Now that it is protected, i can afford the time to do it right.

Sounds like a plan.

That's what I'm doing. I used everything when my PC arrived, now I'm cleaning up scratches with the 4" pads. Once they are gone, I'll go over the whole truck again and re-apply the MSW (and will maybe have some Americana by then!).

Great looking car by the way!
