JerseyGator
Was watching a video on Meguires and they stripped all the old wax off the car before starting their products. They used alcohol. Then started the process of claying, etc... Would this be advised or is it a waste of time?
Chris@Adams
Alot of our members use dish soap first to help strip wax then go to clay.
Chewy
Good old Dawn and clay will pretty much get rid of everything before waxing... Chris

Rich
Dawn for me. The only time I've ever used alcohol on my cars was when I was either applying or removing decals.
JerseyGator
Gottcha. No alcohol. Dawn, is what we use for the dishes. Hoping the MSW is at home when I get there!

tlsole
How do you know if old wax is still on there? My cars sit outside everyday, and it rains a lot here in Houston. Do you think it still has wax on it after 3 months (washed a few times/rained on many times)? I'm scared of dish washing soap because my moms truck is "DULL" cause i think she stripped all the clear off of it (using dish washing soap). Bill-V8V
A 50/50 mix of alcohol and distilled water will get your wax off but after 3 months outside in Houston there probably isn't enough on there to worry about striping it first
