doggman Posted April 5, 2010 Share Posted April 5, 2010 Our Corvette Club had a day trip scheduled to view a few local wineries (?). We went to NASCAR legend Benny Parson's winery and his wife asked if we would like to take a few laps at the old Wilkesboro Speedway. It used to run NASCAR events, a short 3/8 mile track. Of course, we jumped at the chance and no more wineries. We had a good time. Hope the pictures work: I'm 4th from the left. Two beyond me is a ZR1. I had mine at Watkins Glen and Erie Raceway and my wife sat on the sidelines and watched too. Smart ladies! It was more fun without anyhow. doggman Posted April 5, 2010 Author Share Posted April 5, 2010 Yep, thanks, it was great. As you can probably tell, this track is kinda flat. NASCAR record is something like 103 mph for a lap. The wine tasting was in the basement level of their home. Also, in the basement, was the Benny Parson Museum.
