  1. I just finished a job for a guy and his plate was PLSB18.
  2. Mark, it was a full replacement to OEM, I used the same hardware as the OE hood. As far as fit,it's not perfect but no aftermarket hood will be. This hood is a siebon which is one of the better CF company's. I'm satisfied with the fit and finish. Also, if you don't like the look of hood pins don't get a carbon hood, lots of people run without them but at 75mph I see mine shake and that is most likely due to the scoop but I've seen more than few fail and slam against the windshield at speed. Just to be clear, if you go carbon get hood pins, I recommend Aerocatch, you can see how they look in the outdoor shots, I tried some NRG's but didn't like them, they are the ones in the garage shots. Chris, the 06-07 Impreza's come stock with an aluminum hood so there is no weight loss. A carbon hood will not help with heatsoak, Iwould say a turbo blanket will help but I say do some research on NASIOC.com.
  3. haha thanks. 4 dogs- st. bernard/lab is 100lbs, rotwieller/malamute is 110lbs,ex-sleddog from Martin Buser's kennel is 80lbs, heeler/shepard is 55lbs. I got the plate because I am wearing dogslobber all the time:drool:
  4. I am an Aquapel dealer and as such I have it on all my glass on the car. In the past using DS to dry the car I noticed it always left a funky film on the glass and had to clean the glass even if I was in a hurry. I have used the WCW several times now and it leaves no funky film on the Aquapel, I know this may not be important to most of you but it's more info out there for all.
  5. Starting a business should be scary as hell. Just make sure you have the ability to survive when you start, have money in savings you can live on. It took some time to develop a reputation and get steady work, without my savings I would have been up the creek without a polisher.
  6. If you do plug the holes or just have something in the holes a tooth pick is good for cleaning them out, just don't push too hard and stretch the hole (haha, that's what she said)
  7. Update: still testing but I'm liking a mix of 60 GWC 40 APC for engine cleaning.
  8. Well I'm working on a new mixture, I've only had the chance to use it twice but it works well so far. It's a 60/40 mix of DS and WCW used as a drying agent. I use this to help drying after a full wash, I'm convinced that the WCW is not removing the shine potential of the DS but will keep you up dated.
  9. This, those garden sprayers work well since you can vary the pressure depending on how much you pump it.
  10. yes extractors work great on upholstery.
  11. no worries Shane, I'm here to answer questions and help whenever I can,and thanks for the compliment.
  12. Try some resolve spray, I've had good luck with it on certain projects.
  13. yeah it's great for restoring the trim, but not worth the hassle and price. I can't even compare it to VRT because they are totally different products even though they can serve the same purpose. I think VRT is a better product in the long run for ease of use, price, and waaaayyyyy less hassle, like I said the only reason I used it is cause I happen to have some and can't just throw it away.
  14. major bummer, I'm sorry. I am also way lowered so I've had my fair share of lower damage and it sux
  15. I only used it cause I had it, it's a pain in the a** to work with. If you get it on anything other than where you want it, it doesn't come off. I won't be getting more when I run out, which may be never since I hate using it. As far as the fender flares, no sanding would not work as it's just raw black plastic so there is no way to polish out anything.
  16. The fender flares are just black plastic so all the scratches are still in those, I used some black WOW to get them looking better. If you looked at it with the naked eye under the lights you would find a few imperfections. Your right, no PC would have touched this thing. I had to do a 3 step proccess, compound, polsh, fine polish. In the 50/50 shots you can see the hazing and compounding marks.
  17. I'll get some full truck shots when the customer picks it up tomorrow, I wasn't going to pull it out into the rain for a few pics.
  18. Here is the story on this truck. This truck was just offroaded on the Stampede Trail, a pretty brutal trail. The owner owns 3 car dealerships in Anchorage, all 3 have detailers and he brought it to me( a little chest thumping here), he also sponsors our Subaru club since 1 of his dealerships is Continental Subaru. He brought it to me and said he did not expect 100% correction and not everything came out and you will see why, he also said he didn't care how thin the clear ended up since he is doing a full urban digi camo vinyl body wrap in 2 weeks. On to the pics, enjoy. Before:
  19. The most basic Deflesko is about $700, The 6000 that i'm looking at is about $1200. The Deflesko 200 series are from $1800-$2700 so that model is out for me, the 6000 is a good unit but still pretty pricey.
