How NOT to detail your Bentley !!!!!
crawfish replied to Bill-V8V's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I paid a "detailer" like this guy to detail my Corvette last fall, not knowing any better. The results were much worse than I been getting doing it myself, even though I definitely did not know what I was doing at the time. This web-site as well as others have taught me a lot about detailing and I guess I will be stuck doing it from now on. I don't want to trust my Vettes and my Lincoln to someone like this cat. Having said that, I would never have been stupid enough to spray inside the trunk and especially not close the lid afterward. I also cannot imagine putting 409 on any surface of my cars. -
Help !!!!!! Can this be saved ?
crawfish replied to sshhbequiet's question in Paint Correction & Polishing
Wow, you have a job ahead. I cannot wait to see how this plays out. I am fairly new user of Adams products, but I used the system on my 2007 Vette that has been garage kept and regularly waxed. It did wonders to clear up my finish but I am axious to see what will happen with this truck. Good luck and keep us posted on the results. -

Americana Paste Wax Available!
crawfish replied to Team Adam's's question in Paint Correction & Polishing
Crap.. First you get me hooked on Machine Polish, now you are trying introduce me to the hard stuff. Well I will just say No! Well... Maybe not! But I do wonder if I could deepen the shine on my roadster with a high quality carnauba... I assume this is a carnauba based wax... This would probably also be a nice alternative for my 88 coupe. No! I will say...maybe? Oh heck, I guess I need to experiment with this... but just once.. I am not going to get hooked... Unfortunately I am in Africa right now, but maybe I can order some of this stuff to come in when I get back home on early June. Alas, order placed... -
Wow, that looks like a blast! I need to get over my nervousness and try this. (maybe with the C4 first... )

Thanks Ted, doing well.

Note: I have high resolution files available on request. You probably want a classic or custom, but I figured I may as well submit these as I had a lot of fun taking them.

How to Care for your Microfiber Towels
crawfish replied to Junkman2008's question in Towels, Brushes, & Accessories
Immediately after washing, I store my microfiber towels and cleaning pads in 1 gallon Zip-lock baggies. I have had trouble in the past with these expensive towel getting dusty while stored in my garage. This solves that issue. -
Removing old tinting?
crawfish replied to crawfish's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Ok, i'll try that. Thanks for the input! -
In a continuing effort to bring my old car back to original stock condition, I would like to "un-tint" the windows of my 1988 35th Anniversary edition Corvette. The tinting is very old. It is covering the side windows as well as the hatch window. Does anyone know of a product I could use to remove it or possibly another method?

I immediately applied some good leather conditioner (not Adams brand, but some I happened to have) after I used the Multi Purpose Cleaner.

The Cashmere (tan) seats on my 2007 Corvette have been discolored from blue jeans (slight blue tint) since the day I took delivery. We must have sat in the car with a pair of fairly new jeans and it created a slight blue tint on the edge of the seats THAT HAS DRIVEN ME NUTS for the last 2 years. I had tried all kinds of cleaners and nothing worked. I considered having the seat dyed by an upholstery shop, but the guy there said the dye might eventually rub off. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" /><o:p></o:p> Obviously, this had bothered me for a couple of years now. On a whim, I tried some Adams All Purpose Cleaner in a very small quantity (I know, the stuff is too harsh for this ... but I tried it on a very small area. <o:p></o:p> Long story short, the blue tinting wiped off very easily. <o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> Do I recommend others trying this? Well not really, But if you have tried all other alternatives, then it may work as a last alternative. It worked for me, and for me it was worth the risk as it did no damage. <o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p>

Convertible top care
crawfish replied to bobfred44's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I have a tan top on my C6. It came from the factory with those "shadow lines." I have tried Rag top cleaner and it did absolutely nothing. I have heard others who have the tan top say the same thing. Next time I buy a rag top, it will have a black top. -
Thanks For all of the kind word. In the past, I have previously spent many hours trying to make my car look like this, only to be disappointed. I feel like I have discovered the "Holy Grail" of home car detailing methods. This was fun and easy. I am going to try to spread the word to some of my fellow Vette buddies here in town. BTW Gerry, This Vette is my daily driver, and when I am overseas my wife drives it. She does not however wash it, so this was what I faced when I got home from work last week. (Of course the alternative could be worse, she could take it to a car wash:mad:)

All Purpose Cleaner
crawfish replied to Team Adam's's question in Wheels, Tires, Trim, & Undercarriage
I tried this stuff last week to clean under the hood of my Vette. I spent 10 minutes cleaning under the hood where I typically spend 45 minutes to 1 hour and the results were great. I was able to remove the greasy soil on all of those hard to reach places with just the APC and a blast of the water hose. This Adams stuff is addictive -
No, I have not been to Jazz Fest, even though my daughter lived in that area of New Orleans for a while. We have a music festival in Lafayette that occurs during one of the weekends that Jazz Fest is going on that we always attend as my wife is a volunteer. It is called Festival International and it also attracts some very good acts, many of them from French speaking countries. There are about 4 large stages, it is conducted in the downtown and is free. Some acts will play both the Jazz Fest and Festival International. (Bonnie Raitt was an example a few years back) Happy Mardi Gras:banana:
