Just saying thanks again to Adams and GPC too. I learned a lot from the show. I came back home and actually did my first detail using the products I bought back from March. My car turned out great and it was definitely a learning experience again on my own. Used the two bucket wash, detail spray and clay (I used to much detail spray!), rewashed again because I couldn't believe how much the clay bar pulled up. Then I finished with hand polish, glaze, and wax. The car was stunning in the sun!

So again, thanks! I now have been bitten by the detailing bug!

You can save it for a future rinseless wash.  It will lose it's nice blue color, but will work fine.  I keep rinseless wash mixed at wash strength in a 1/2 gallon pump-up sprayer for pre-soaking the car.

This past week was lost to me. Monday I got hit with the worst case of Norovirus I've ever had. The next 3 days were spent busting up the WC or in bed. As of today the symptoms are gone but I'm still not myself. Doctor C tells me as with any virus it can be a week to 10 days to fully recuperate.

On a positive note I posted the following on G8board:

Five years ago today I shook hands w/George @ Community Pontiac in Wilmington, IL and drove home in my new Sport Red Metallic G8 GT.  In those five years and 42,000 daily driven miles I've gone through one set of tires (@41,000), one set of front brakes, 14 oil/filter changes, 6 air filter changes, 4 sets of wiper blades, 3 cabin air filter changes, 3 console lids, < :slap: WTH GM? 1 collision with a red light runner, 1 battery, 1 driver's seat zip tie mod, 1 coolant flush, lots of Adams/Meguiar's/ONR and a whole lot of smiling. I love this car and as I've said before I hope to teach my now 5 year old twins to drive in it when they are old enough.   I'd wash her today but the entire next week has rain in the forecast and as thick as the pollen is in the air right now I just can't get motivated.

Thank you for the advice Adam.

I actually met you not that I would count on you remember but it had to be 10 to 12 years ago in Phoenix Arizona you had the Adams polishes out at a Costco in Mesa. You actually took the time to go to the parking lot and take a look at a jeep I had and polished up some plastic trim to look like new it was awesome thanks. That Adam is what sold me on using Adams polishes for the last umpteen years.

I would wait until next year.  But if you have the time and are inclined to do it, go ahead.   I had to clay my car twice until I figured out how to do it right, so I was almost in your shoes.

My daughter gave me the best laugh last week when I needed it most.

I ordered some new Adam's products to get my detailing season off the ground and could not wait for it to show up at the house. I was at work and got the automated FedEx notification that my package had been delivered. Since I was not home I texted my daughter who would be home soon asking her to get the package off the porch and bring it inside. She said she would "Take care of it"

I got home about 9pm and she was not there. I looked all through the house and could not find the package. I texted her asking where it was, she responded" In the fridge".  I was like O_o? I look in the fridge and there is my Adam's box. I text her back asking why it is in the fridge and she texted back " It said something meat on it and I did not want it to go bad. Unless it wasn't in which case that would be a weird place for me to put it..."

It was at this point I started laughing so hard tears came to my eyes and called her. We use Peapod for groceries and she thought it was a special order of polish sausage from some guy named Adam......

I have used Adam's PFP on an Adam's white foam pad and Americana Paste Wax on a European/US pre-war car.  The chassis was made in France and the body in New York.  It was re-painted in England several years ago (and a few months ago it moved to Scotland!).

I was in your shoes not too terribly long ago. I'm no means the expert many of the guys that have already chimed in this forum are, I've really just moved from a beginner to intermediate at this point, but I definitely went through a similar frustrating learning curve. When I first started I used a PC and mainly foam (orange and white) pads. I checked my work consistently and all looked great until the next day when the car was out in the sun I wanted to throw up - swirls, hazy paint from either over or underworking the products, spots I missed, etc. I spent some quality time with an Adams detailer helping out and asking tons of questions. Slowly but surely, I'm perfecting my technique. It does suck, but the only way to get better at this hobby of ours is through time and trial and error. I don't know of anyone that reached perfection, let alone 90% of that, the first time they used a machine. Keep at it and eventually it will kinda click.

And I was going to say the opposite!  From the way they looked to me I would have started with green Focus pad on a drill using a very aggressive polish, followed with a white Focus pad and finishing polish.

Adam , I understand your concerns and know that I am faithful and present your products to my friends. I discovered there two years by chance on youtube your brand. I ordered the sampler kit in order to test and I fell on my *** . I got rid of my products Meg and I ordered in my regular European dealer your product and I have almost all along the stripes. I collect your brushes and I also love that there is engraved dessus.même my Flex has an Adam 's sticker on it and also my Karcher brand. I'm almost at 3000 euros equipment of all kinds .
I still have to have the banner . I saw that there is one in Australia but I think it will be too expensive with the delivery so I hope my dealer will have one someday.

I want to tell you that I primarily chose your brand :

    bottle design
    product colors
    amazing quality of products
the fact that there are not 150 different shampoo at home chemical guy
variety of brushes and pads was unique. it is on this point that I'm sad. have pads and brush signed adam 's was great. it can be necessary to use synthetic hair? but do not cut the hair of Ashley please ! lol
I wanted at all costs buckets Adam's . it costed my 80 euros but it does not matter . I wanted them .

Did this yesterday afternoon.  But with the Forum down wasn't able to post till today.  Took my kid on what is called a Discovery Flight and Mom and Dad got to tag along.  My son was able to taxi the plane to the runway and flew the plane once we were in the air.  Instructor pointed him where to go and allowed him to set plane up for landing.  Then instructor took over and landed plane.  Spent about an hour in the air.  And also enrolled my son in what is called Ground School.  Below is some pictures of our adventure.

I have to comment... Today, I had time to complete my very first "Gary Dean" rinse-less wash on my BMW.  I am posting a write up about it in another section but just wanted to say that it is AWESOME.  Not just for the lessening of risk of scratching of the paint, but the speed and efficiency of the whole thing, is just spectacular.

With my technique being honed, I figure I can wash the entire car this way with 5 towels (6 if you include wheels) and all in less than 25 min (including a detail spray wipe down afterwards.

SO MUCH FASTER THAN TWO BUCKET METHOD.  Now, it is more expensive as buying 6 border-less blues costs more than a couple double soft towels.  BUT with less contamination and actual wear from the rubbing on a grit guard, the border-less blues will last WAY longer.  You are getting your money's worth out of them.

If you haven't already, buy or trade for border-less blues and set yourself up for a GREAT SUCCESSFUL rinse-less car wash.

Also, I did have the second bucket full of water and MR and it also was easy to just let the towels (ALL towels) soak for like 30 min - 1 hr and then wring them out and throw them directly into the washer (with another 2 oz of MR) and that was it.

All in, I could spend less than 1 hr doing an entire maintenance wash on the car (depending on level of grime) and detail spray wipe down and clean up afterwards.    That is just AWESOME!!!!
