  1. I'd love a long sleeve thermal for the cold months. With Adams down one sleeve and a simple logo over the left chest.
  2. I just bought a 2011 Grand Sport...so, I'm detailing again! I've always use BG to accomplish 2 things. 1. Cleaner 2. Fill any tiny imperfections I couldn't get out or couldn't see inside my garage . We've all done it... Full polish in the garage... Looks perfect with the halogens, looks perfect with the LED shop light... The. You get it out in the sun and find that one thing.
  3. Put Locktite on my focus pad backing plate setup for PC (have prior model) and use the PC for focus pads and BG/Machine Sealant only.
  4. What do you want to do. Meaning... What do you wake up and wish you could do? (Realistically) I enjoy detailing cars as well... But I wouldn't make that my primary source of income. I have a d/b/a company and operate as a sole proprietor. I spent 20+ years in the industry in the trenches and even tried my business owner hat on a time or two before... I wasn't ready. Now, I went from bringing in 32k annually to 120k last year. This year could break 200k. I don't enjoy what I do tho. I'm just good at it and it has become second nature to me. I' started my business in July 2012. If you have a family, planning is key. If you enjoy property management and are good at it, start your own. There are also other opportunities for someone with your background. I paint and renovate for numerous apartment communities locally. I've seen the office staff. Making pretty good on bonus checks aside from their already decent weekly pay. Working for a d/b/a isn't going to help you in the long term. It will, however, get you closer to the admin side of it so you can learn the ropes and make connections. Without my network (took me 5 years to build), I wouldn't be able to show the success I've had with my current business. Best of luck to you, whatever you decide.
  5. Tried the red ones with Americana. Liked em ok, but the hex grip felt more comfortable and lowered the risk of dropping the applicator.
  6. If it's still in the leather, it is soaked in and needs removal. Min spirits (paint thinner) is an oil based product. If it is still in the fabric, it will look oily or more shiny than the rest of the seat.... Unless you dressed over it.
  7. There's an edit button on the bottom of each of your posts And... Good question.
  8. Good looking 4G. Before I bought the charger last week I was looking at 2 '02's, 1 SS Convert... 17k mi... Was bright red (not a fan of red) and the other was a blue coupe. Low miles but some db had it and 'blinged' it out. Was asking $10k for the convertible and $14k (woah!) for the blue coupe. After finding a low mileage 04 comm edition vette (17k) and my inspection of it found evidence of nitrous being used, I decided to get a new model so I would avoid other peoples modification mistakes. That is a clean, well done 'Maro. Props for not making it a daily driver.
  9. Great question! I wonder how it'll work on exterior plastics like mirrors, cowls... For cleaning purposes- prep for dressing. For years I've been under the impression BG was just for paint. (Slaps forehead) missing out all this time.
  10. Sorry I missed this. You must be proud, no matter the outcome. My daughter's mom was on crime-stoppers couple times! We weren't very proud of her.... But at least my kid got to see her mom... Even tho it was on the news. That was years ago.
  11. The corners may get raw over time. Not as much paint/clear on those hard bends in the body as the flat surfaces.
  12. Been using BG since the day it came out... Love the stuff... Just searching for best course since.... mY ENTIRE ROOF is vinyl!!!! Haha. That's a lot of vinyl to care for. Imma try BG and quick sealant on hood and if that goes well... Hittin the roof panel the same.
  13. File storage bins from SAMs. Opaque color allows me to see what's inside. Keeps them dust/fallout free and safe from falling to the ground.
  14. Did you use L&IC? If so, did you agitate the area with a leather brush or MF? May want to try APC since it's more of a degreaser. Just test first for colorfastness. May dry leather out faster...so use caution. I spill mineral spirits all the time... In my work van . Hate the smell.
  15. Foam. Speed of 5 on flex, newest gen pads. Car wasn't bad enough for MF PADS.
  16. Trying to get it to look like the photoshopped one in the ad--
  17. Traded the ram I got a year ago. Got a 2013 Charger R/T Daytona in Daytona Blue. It was used with 4200mi. And came from my old stomping grounds in Melbourne, Florida (couldn't find new within a reasonable drive). Already polished and sealed paint... Gonna finish in the AM. Here's a pic or 2 from the day I got it.
  18. I've seen pros using a harbor freight model... Just make sure it's random orbital if you're a first timer with fears. I when I got the PC, it was the offered model here at Adams. They later offered the flex 3401vrg. I got the flex and never looked back. The PC is my focus pad unit now. Focus pads are wonderful for cleaning up small defects still seen after making your passes with the larger pads. (As well as great for smaller panels). I get the bulk of the paint corrected with the big pads (flex) and follow up (panel by panel) with the Foxus pads (PC) while using a halogen light kit. I'm about to ditch the halogens and get an LED setup on a tripod.
  19. I use the pump up garden sprayers (.40 gal) from Lowes. Mainly for DS when I clay. Petsmart sells a smaller version for misting birds (I have an African grey). Nice not to have to squeeze a trigger. Work well for doing window tinting too.
  20. I used half a bar and it was in good enough condition that I'll use it again on another car. If you are lucky enough to have one of their old clay containers (I have about 15), put used clay in the old jar. Won't fit in new box container (what's up with that Adam?). Otherwise, get a glad brand reusable lunch bowl for it. It keeps. PS- if it EVER hits the ground.... It's trash. I form a little grip into mine.
  21. I know of a video where an unmentioned gentleman put his PC on his corvette and held it on one place just to show how safe PC's are for new users.
  22. Nick... Is his still true for the 2 step polish system? I used it for the first time today and while the results were typical Adams fare, the Finishing Polish seemed to spit little white balls when it 'Had too much polish'. I've used Adams so long I still have (need to toss) a bottle of Machine Super Wax and yellow pads in both sizes...err... Just showed my age there. Lol, so this isn't my first rodeo with Adams. When I used the pad brush on the white pad after seeing little white gimbals spit out of the pad, it did nothing. I set the pad aside and let it dry for about 20 min then used the pad brush and it dusted it out properly. The correcting Polish seemed to operate (as far as dusting goes) like the prior orange (and green) product.
  23. Does your 'Maro have stripes? Looks good btw....
  24. Photos of the swirls help us know how much damage you're trying to correct. I just got a car, 4000mi - from FL so no harsh winter.... Damage was minor swirls, some straight cuts. I used White Foam Pad and finishing Polish combo for most of it with my Flex. For the straight cuts, I used my porter cable 7424xp with the orange pad and the correcting polish. I'm saving the microfiber pads for my wife's black 2012 chrysler 300 which hasn't been polished in over a year. The MF pads are a much heavier cut and to the untrained person, can cause micro-marring.
