  1. I had the opportunity to try out the new wash wedge today to wash my dad's camaro. I used the foam gun as well. I'm a fan of the foam gun as this is the second time I have used it. The wash wedge worked well. I did have a bucket full of suds to dunk into. I actually let my dad finish off the car as he wanted to try it. He also liked it. It did a good job. It's also easy to clean out. There are areas where it was not able to get into such as under the spoiler due to the handle but overall it's a good wash media. I prefer this over the wash pad. The wash pad gets too many things trapped in it and can be bothersome to clean out.
  2. I did the dry application 2 weeks ago. It was in the mid 70's here in So Cal and I had no issues. The towels stayed damp and I did not use a lot of product. Spread on the paint easily and I could see it even though the paint is silver. Perhaps you had higher humidity.
  3. I have the goodyear one and on occasion it will kink. It doesn't leak. It's a good hose.
  4. Nice job. Seal the tips and make it easier to clean them up. At least the outside of them. The inside is a lost cause as they will carbon up again quickly. But sealing them makes it so much easier to maintain. Did you seal the wheels?
  5. Will do about the sponge. Rockers are an easy upgrade. We added that to my brothers when we top swapped his. I'm not modding the camaro that much. Keeping it as is with just an intake, exhaust and suspension mods. Only thing I am planning to do next is a tune. It only has 14K miles so keeping it as stock as possible.
  6. I have had my 99 for almost 16 years. Almost as old as you lol. My brother and I top swapped his 03 and it's not that bad to do. His car is actually fun to drive and very quick. The good thing is that these cars are cheap to mod. I go back and forth about top swapping and then I look at my camaro and I'm like I have enough power there. On a side note, I'm hoping to give the wash wedge a shot this week.
  7. If anything hit it with some detail spray. Other than that keep it clean and enjoy how good it looks.
  8. I never charge my bro when I polish his ride. Although he does help once in awhile. But I get it in other ways like when I have him cover the tab for certain expenses. As someone once said, you will never make money off family.
  9. The blue plush towels and the blue applicators are nice. Definitely recommend those.
  10. I had the opportunity to use the new H20 Guard & Gloss over the weekend. The car was not that dirty to warrant a 2 bucket wash. So I started off with a rinseless wash. Also doing my part in this California water conservation effort. After that I went with the dry application method with 2 double soft towels. One damp and one dry. Again doing my part in this water conservation effort. The number of spritzes varied panel by panel. This method is very simple. I sealed the car in no more than 10 mins. I could feel the slickness when buffing it off. The shine is great. No noticeable static feeling which is great for not attracting dust or pollen. I did not notice any type of staining on my double soft's. It smells nice. A little product goes a long way. It's a great product and in my opinion it should be on everyone's shelf. Very user friendly and it doesn't get any easier than this to seal a car. Things to note. I applied it over a non-Adams wax which I applied back in February. Whether it affects longevity of this product I do not know. But being so easy to apply and how quick that is not a deal breaker. I also did not apply it to the following areas: Glass: I have a glass coating on all the glass Trim: I have a trim coating Hood: Testing out another manufacturers product Wheels: I have a wheel coating on them Not bad for a car that I have owned for almost 16 years.
  11. When your applicator starts to load up with product, you can gently press the applicator on the surface in various spots to extract some of the product within the applicator. You can then spread that product out. You will save more product that way.
  12. Finally got my new set of wheels. No more black wheels.
  13. I use my spare PC with a 3" pad for any pillars.
  14. Would you be interested in bottle of unused Buttery Wax in a throwback bottle for that paint finishing polish?
  15. IPA tends to feel grabby for me. I have used it at 15% to remove polish and I had to go over the area a couple times as it was not completely removed after one pass. That is just my experience.
  16. Same here. Brushes for me is the way to go.
  17. D114 is fine if used at the proper dilution ratio for a rinseless wash. It's been mentioned that at 6:1 it can be a full IPA replacement when removing polishing oils. It will strip wax at that dilution ratio. I do like the fact that it doesn't leave anything behind unlike the Adams rinseless wash. If I need some slickness I'll follow up with a QD or spray wax. I have used IPA and that doesn't always work. You will be fine. We all have different tastes when it comes to detailing products. If you don't want it. I'll take it off your hands
  18. If you polish, the polish will remove the existing wax.
  19. Another option is a porter cable with a 4" pad. Depends on whether or not you can get a DA in that area. If not then by hand might be the only option.
  20. Could just be soft paint. Might want to try blotting instead of wiping.
