  1. A few things off the top of my head (Dylan I hope it's ok to reference other products from other manufactures): 1. I prefer a rinseless wash that has no wax in it and leaves nothing behind similar to Meguiar's D114. I tend to follow up with either a QD or spray wax. 2. I strictly use SVRT on trim and I would prefer for it to have longer durability. Making it more like a trim sealant or trim coating (ie wolfgang exterior trim sealant or blackfire tire & trim sealant). Or keeping SVRT but also introduced a dedicated trim coating. 3. I agree with this. I know which one he is talking about since I also use that other brand. 4. I also agree with pre-labeled bottles with dilution rations on them as well. 5. An ironx trype product for paint. 6. Tweaking liquid paint sealant to have even more durability than the typical 4-6 month range. Similar to what Meguiar's is doing with their new paint protect sealant or Sonus Ion with them claiming up to a 1 year durability. Looks like a coating is in development so we will see what is to be introduced in the future. 7. What about a leather coating for today's coated leather interior. 8. What about having glass sealant become a glass coating. Of course this would lead to a glass polish. 9. With all the coating talk having an Adam's coating line would be a nice addition for paint, wheels and glass. 10. What about a dedicated paint cleaner that leaves nothing behind and removes polishing oil (similar to Deatiler's Pro Prep Polish) in stead of using IPA.
  2. I do agree that there is a fine line between what is a "coating". Some are like super sealants. Good info in this thread.

  4. Give it a shot. You will be surprised how nice it can look with a sealant topped with a carnauba.

  7. A test spot with the least aggreesive combination will tell you all you need to know. Let the paint tell you what it likes.
  8. The reason I asked is because OEM wheels are typically clear coated. So a polish and quick sealant should work well.
  9. This is true but since this member is trying to avoid confusion and to make it simple, then I would say an IPA wipe is optional. We need to know more info in terms of him having a DA or not. If he is doing this by hand then I would Wash Clay Revive Seal If he has a DA Wash Clay Polish Seal If he wants to take it up a notch Wash Clay Polish Seal Wax To go even further Wash Clay Polish Seal Glaze Wax There are so many options but to help him understand the confusion simplicity would be the way to go. As his detail knowledge grows then he can proceed to other steps.
  10. I would say a strip wash or IPA wipe after polishing is optional. All these products are intended to work together so the sealant will still bond to the paint. Durability will still be the same. In order to determine if you need correction it's best to evaluate the paint after claying. If you like the results then proceed with your choice in protection. If you want to do dome correction to remove swirls, scratches etc then I would recommend you start off with a test spot with the least aggressive product. The proceed from there. Let the paint tell you what it needs.

  13. Remove prior to adding another coat or topping it with a wax.
  14. What I have done in the past is clean the rust with a wire brush. Then I prep the surface with some brake cleaner and then paint them black. I use caliper paint to paint them. This will keep them from rusting. Of course this is done with the wheels off. You could even do the outer part that is also rusted. Next time you are do for some rotors buy some that already have the rotor hats and veins black.
