  1. OH, no question about it. I would put my Adams shine up against anyone.
  2. I was over on the Corvette Forum and there was a question as to different wax products. There were two replies that claim that they use Lemon Pledge only on their Corvette and one also added that he uses it on his Harley also. Hard to believe what some people use on their cars.
  3. If I remember correctly, the use of Adams Detail Spray will not remove the wax protection, but the Btilliant Glaze will diminish the overall protection with multiple application of the glaze between wax. Is this correct or am I all wet?
  4. I have to agree with everyone else. 60-90 days seems to be the norm. Again talk to your painter he will be able to give you the correct info. Normal Adams Shampoo and water, Waterless Wash and Detail Spray would be your safest way to go.
  5. Sorry to hear about the interior issue. Did it happen while you were hauling all of the paint and lumber? Post a picture or two so we can see how bad it is. As for the detail, I am assuming you just did not mention the final step of waxing. But if you did not wax, you need to. The sealant and glaze do not offer the protection of a good Americana coating. That is always my final step in my detailing process.
  6. Thanks for the kind words. Looking forward to this weekend and the show.
  7. Thanks Mook, I don't think it would be half as nice if it was not for Adams. His products at next to none.
  8. First time posting photo's on the new forum. I am use to having them on Photobuckert. I have here there now.
  9. I started a post in the General section a few days back about a complete detail I was about to start and said I would post a few pictures of the results. I started with a complete wash using 2 oz. All Purpose Cleaner and 2 oz. of Adams Shampoo to strip the old wax (Americana). Followed by a complete clay bar (Adams of course). Then I applied Swirl & Haze Remover, followed by Fine Machine Polish, then a coat of Brilliant Glaze and finished the exterior with a coat of Americana. I cleaned the interior with Adams leather Cleaner and then applied the Leather Conditioner a complete vacuum and polished and wax the door jambs. The aluminum suspension components were cleaned and polished, wheel wells washed with All Purpose Cleaner and water and treated with Undercarriage Spray. The wheels were scrubbed both front and back a coat of buttery was applied the wheels and Super VRT to the tires. Engine bay received a cleaning with all the chrome, painted components and carbon fiber parts received a coat of Buttery wax and other areas received a coat of In & Out spray. So here are some pictures.
  10. I have finished the detail and posted the finished result photos in the Cars section.
  11. That is how I did prior to reading on here that the glaze followed by the Americana is the best way to apply it. I do use the glaze in-between waxing.
  12. It is billed as Corvette's on the Pier, but it is actually in Strub Park. The pier will be closed at the end of the month so they can start the demolition of it. So the club that normally host the Pier show in Sept. have moved it to Mat and in the park.
  13. No, I don't seal mine as it is not a daily driver. I asked that that question shortly after Adams introduced the sealer and was told if it was not subjected the daily elements it was nay truly needed, but I could if I wanted.
  14. I will be attending a large Corvette show next weekend in St. Petersburg Fl. So I will be starting on my full detail this week. I plan to start on Tuesday with a full wash, which will be a quick wheel clean just to get the loose dirt off as I will be removing the wheels so I an do a complete cleaning of them. The wash will consist of a combination of Adams Car Shampoo and Adams All Purpose Cleaner so I can strip off the old wax (Americana). I will start with a complete rinse of the body with plain water followed by a total foam layer then the wash. A rinse with the hose using the fire nozzle to remove all of the shampoo, followed by the sheet rinse. Next into the garage for the drying. Step Two,is to do the interior, which will be a complete vacuum, leather seats cleaned and dressed as well as door panel and dash, door jambs will receive a coat of wax. Step Three, remove the wheels and a complete cleaning of both the face of the wheel and tire as well as the inside (barrel). With the tires removed I will clean all of the wheel well area and clean the aluminum suspension components. Step Four, Engine bay will get a complete detailing consisting of removing all dirt and sand that has been picked up, hoses and other areas will receive a coat of In & Out Spray and all of the custom painted, chrome and carbon fiber components will receive a coat of wax. Step Five, the exterior will first be clayed, followed by Swirl & Haze Remover applied with the PC. Next is a coat of Fine Machine Polish again using the PC. As I head down the finish line I will apply a coat of Brilliant Glaze also with the PC and finish it up with the Americana. If course the windows will be cleaned and specific areas on the outside will receive a coat of In&Out Spray prior to applying the Swirl & Haze Remover. This should keep me busy most of this week. Pictures to follow.
  15. I have always removed Swirl & Haze Remover, Fine Machine Polish and Brilliant glaze with the microfiber towel and pc. I remove the American by hand. I learned that from Adam years ago. In fact at that time he only has Revive polish and Buttery Wax. I just continued the same process with the newer products.
  16. First of, no normal wash shampoo will not remove the swirls. I would think that if they are minor, you just were not at the right angle or proper light to notice them. A PC will not hurt the paint in any way. I would not worry about the shape angles. I cannot say what a professional would use, but in many cases they use the standard style buffer and unfortunately some should not be using one. The Flex is a little more aggressive then the PC. I have been using a PC for almost 7 years now and I have no issue with it. If you maintain your paint regularly and only get the normal minor swirls and small fine scratches, a PC will correct those.
  17. I just got the Gilmour from Amazon last week and it works great on a garden hose. I put in about 3-4 oz of Adams Shampoo and it foamed up the car great. The other one mentioned here I understand is a better one then the Gilmour, but I did not see a need to use my pressure washer on my car as it is not a daily driver and garage kept.
  18. Just finished placing and order for some of the gallon refills of the Waterless Wash, Car Wash Shampoo and the new Detail Spray as well as a 3 pack of the In & Out Spray, polishing pads, and a few of the double soft micro fiber towels. Now it is just the wait. I order a Gilmour foam gum from Amazon last week and used it yesterday but I was almost out o by Shampoo, so I figured if i had to order more of that I might as well stock up.
  19. Saturday a group of 20 of us from our club put on a Corvette display at the Bay Pines Veterans Hospital in St Petersburg, Florida. The veterans that are in the nursing dorms were brought out my staff as well as club members to look at the cars we had on display and I am glad to say we had every generation represented. We bought what is call Canteen Booklets which would be distributed to the veterans. Each member purchased a number of booklets and our club sponsor donated $500 to go towards more. We also brought magazines and toilet supplies. I think we got more out of meeting these great veterans then they may have got out of the cars. It was a real honor. 20. Unfortunately, I place my order before Mook replied, so it looks like I will have the Gilmour. It arrives tomorrow, but I can always order the Hydro if I am not happy with the Gilmour. I was looking over Mooks mixture and it sounds like there is a mixture left after the car is foamed. Do I just leave it in the canister? I will be using thin on my 2007 Corvette that is not a daily driver and is garage kept. I use the Waterless Wash a lot and I don't need to do a complete wash but about ever couple of weeks. In fact i gave it a complete bath today so it is ready for a cruise in tomorrow afternoon. I did not want to wait until tomorrow because I was not sure when the foam gun would arrive, so I most likely won't need to do it again for a couple of weeks.
  21. OK I went to Amazon and found 2 different Gilmour guns. One listed as the Gilmour 75QGFRMFoamaster Adjustable Multi Ratio Cleaning Gun and the other is listed as the Gilmour 95 QGFRM Foamaster II. Which would you guys recommend?
  22. I would be interested in that also. I noticed your other post asking Mook for the formula. I am ordering the foam gun (got it right this time) today.
  23. I was looking at that one earlier on Amazon. Thanks as always Dylan.
  24. You are right. Sorry about that, but Dylan understood.
