  1. Check the videos on both products, it will help you see how they are used.

Rinseless is in my top 3 products if not #1. You can dilute it to make rinseless or clay lubricant. But the best part is washing your light to medium dirty car without dragging a hose in about 20min drying included. It also adds quite a bit of gloss depending on your car colour. As an example, brilliant glaze doesn't do squat to my car but rinseless makes it pop.

  2. One thing is sure: They are actively working on some type of consumer range coating or at the very least an improvement on their paint sealant if they can't get the coating right. Either way, I'm in for a better/long lasting alternative without going into a professional range application.

I say that the 2 day cure required on the trim coating is probably as high as they can go as far as "professional" application required. Because of their 110% satisfaction guarantee, they can't bet on how the customer will apply the product.

Let's not forget that Adam's is targeting the novice-intermediate detailer out there with super easy to use products.

  3. Just an idea: I'd like to have some Adam's wallpapers to put on my computers. Perhaps the media guy (Maybe Joe?) or even anyone with some photoshop type abilities could do a few in their spare time? I'd like to see some products advertised on those wallpapers such as the entire Adam's collection would be nice.

If anyone has any high quality, wallpaper size pictures that they took of the ride with a product, post them up! I'd say only post pictures that has at least a product bottle/towel/accessories in it or more! Not simply a picture of your vehicle, we already have a thread on those.

  4. Matte Vinyl Cleaning and Protection

Last month, a buddy from the Ford Raptor Forum brought his very impressive Raptor over so we could work on getting his matte vinyl cleaned up and protected.

Started with a full wash using the pressure washer and foam cannon, then dried with the Master Blaster.

    attachicon.gif20160521_120615.jpg

After pulling it into the garage, we wiped down all the vinyl with Waterless Wash to clean off any remaining gunk, and to see what else was left behind. The wipe showed some additional bug guts and vertical streaks from some trim dressing.

To get all that cleaned out, we hand polished the vinyl with Revive Polish and Blue Hex Grip Applicators, then wiped off the residue with Waterless Wash.

To give the vinyl some protection, we applied H2O Guard & Gloss using the "Dry Application Method". In this method, the product is sprayed onto a wet towel, then wiped evenly onto the vinyl. Since matte vinyl is porous, just spraying the product directly onto the vinyl can lead to an uneven application that looks blotchy or streaky.

At the same time, we applied the H2O Guard & Gloss to the rest of the truck: paint, plastic and rubber trim, and glass. We then switched to some lower grade plush towels to apply to the wheels and to the Line-X on the flares, running boards, and light tower.

Since the matte vinyl is a little tricky with this product, there were still some streaks from the wiping. To address these, we went back over all the vinyl with a slightly damp portion of a clean towel, then wiped with a dry portion of the clean towel. Any more stubborn streaks were evened out with a damp towel that had just a few sprays of H2O Guard & Gloss. The small amount of product kind of reactivates the sealant to even it out.

Some additional tips for matte vinyl:

A neutral pH shampoo like Adam's Car Wash Shampoo is very important, since this is the product that will be used often to clean the vinyl.

Never wash, clean or apply products to vinyl when it is hot to the touch. Allow the vinyl to cool down and work in the shade or a garage.

Do not use abrasive polishes, clay bar, or machine polish matte vinyl.

When hand polishing with Revive, be careful along the edges to prevent build-up. Apply the product along the edges, not back-and-forth across the edges.

When trying to clean off visible stains or residue that are not removed by washing, start with the least aggressive method first: Waterless Wash wipe-down after a wash, Revive Hand Polish, or Brilliant Glaze. While the most stubborn stains might required diluted All Purpose Cleaner or diluted isopropyl alcohol, these two products should only be used as a last resort, since they can both cause damage if not done properly.

It takes some work and technique to apply the H2O Guard & Gloss. Another easier option for protection is VRT Dressing, but since it is water-based, it will only last a few washes or rains, while the H2O Guard & Gloss will provide about two months of protection.

What is your take on VRT on such a large area. Obviously you wouldn't do that on your whole truck but let's say someone only has the entire hood wrapped. I tried on my buddy and even though it worked fine, it was next to impossible to get an even finish given the size of the area to cover.

  5. Where is the filter located on the foam canon? Is it user accessible?

I need an adapter similar to the attached picture. I have a Karcher pressure washer. It has no adapter with it to use with Adams Foam Cannon. I am having trouble finding something that will work locally.

I found some online sites such as AG that carries it, but I am hoping to find a solution within Canada.

    Suggestions?

My exact model is Karcher lr54005

  6. As you see on the picture I don't have a lot of space to work with and don't feel like taking the facia off just the clean it.

Should I use a garden hose? A pressure washer? Any other products like APC?

Please note that I have pretty much the entire Adam's library except Wash and Wax and Strip Wash.

I saw a video somewhere which suggested using a bug/tar remover, spray liberally on the intercooler and rinse off with garden hose. Obviously the engine has to be cold...

    Suggestions?

  7. I'm sure testing was done when paired with other products but let's not forget that the wash and wax is an all in one / RTU product. With any all in one product, there will be some trade off on the wash side and on the wax side. Is this product better than using car shampoo followed by H2O? I doubt that but haven't been able to try it out yet.

It reminds me of the 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioners or any other 2 in 1 products. I certainly like them and use them but are they as good as a separate shampoo and a separate conditioner...?

  8. I think I certainly used too much based on the comments.  I used nearly half a bottle for a 4 series BMW.  I ran out of sunlight so I was finishing up in the dark.  It was more of an experiment than anything since I hadn't had a chance to use it before.

From now on I will certainly spray less and then spread it with my wet towel.

A good guideline is 1 full spray per panel. So 1 full spray diagonally on 1 door, wipe with wet towel then 1 full spray diagonally on other door, wipe...

You shouldn't see the liquid level drop after you do a car.

  9. Hard to say without actually trying it but I heard a few members on here with your specific pressure washer, I'm sure they will chime in. It may take a few attempts to get the settings right for your pressure washer, I'm still tuning it after a few washes.
