  1. I'm in the middle of a paint correction project and I've run out of detail spray. Can I use anything else to spritz on the pads between panels? Can I just use distilled water? How about diluted Rinseless? Any ideas? Thanks!
  2. Does this work as well as glass sealant on glass? Will this replace the need for using glass sealant?
  3. Well, it looks like we may need some clarification from the Shine Doc!
  4. I see this product as a great time saver for those who detail daily drivers for dollars. (just to clarify, I'm talking about G&G, not soap soap!) I have some questions, that perhaps will be answered once it is released: Is G&G something that would be used on a garage queen, like a car that is already waxed with Americana or Patriot? Does this work on top of carnauba? Also, is there any dulling or build-up from repeated uses? What if someone used this once a week every time after a car wash? Is there a point of diminishing returns?
  5. Check out this old how to topic here: http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/9168-how-to-clean-alcantara-seats/
  6. Cool! How a bout a "wheel/tire" bucket for us crazies that are up to three buckets?
  7. Just curious if regular windshield washer fluid (which usually contains ethanol and/or ethylene glycol) breaks down glass sealant? i.e., should I avoid washer fluid on my freshly sealed glass?

We were in the same boat a couple of years ago after we cut satellite. My wife really wanted to record stuff to watch later, so we ended up going with TiVo since it was way cheaper than what we were used to paying. After a year we decided it really wasn't being used enough to justify the monthly fee, so we got rid of that also. There really isn't any thing else out there subscription-free except the Channel Master DVR that Jason mentioned. (Which I have not used.) The other option if you are technologically inclined is to build your own home theater PC with an over-the-air video capture device. That would end up being more expensive than the Channel Master though.
  9. I'd love to see the regular Adam's logo stickers make a comeback!
  10. There is nothing more disappointing than fishing up a nice two bucket wash only to open the doors and find all the little puddles of dirty water that have collected in the door jambs. (and trunk jamb- or whatever it's called?) What is the recommendation for cleaning the door jambs? Do you go over it with a damp microfiber after the wash? Or do you clean them well before the two-bucket wash? What does everyone do? (And on a related note- do you guys seal and/or wax in there?)
  11. For polishing, start at 3-4 to spread the polish out, then crank it up to 6. For spreading wax or sealant, 2-4. The low speeds really don't do anything except spread.
  12. If you just peruse the forum a little bit, or follow Adam's on instagram, you might find out more about: a foam gun: http://instagram.com/p/xqVoTPnTnf/ a new shampoo: http://instagram.com/p/xkEX2mnThF/ a new coating: http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/27543-new-car-prep-product-testing-2014-subaru-forrester/ new interior detailer: http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/23194-adams-total-interior-detailer-discussion/?p=431669 Beyond a few teasers, I can't imagine they would make too much information available until products are ready to ship.
  13. You might consider sending this out as an email blast. There are probably lots of customers that don't frequent the forums and would not know about the survey.
  14. Yesterday afternoon the Brilliant Glaze seemed to be missing also, but it is showing up this morning.
  15. The future product offerings need to be determined in large part by who your target market is. As a beginner, one of the things that attracted me to Adam's was the focused product line: one glass cleaner, one shampoo, one leather conditioner, etc. For a noob, the huge number of product offerings from the competitors was overwhelming. That along with the instructional videos and forums were icing on the cake. The flip side is that the limited product line doesn't necessarily cater to the all the pros who are looking for a specific polish or pad. So the question that must be answered is: Who are your customers?: People that like to coddle their cars who have no interest in detailing for dollars? Or pros where margins and efficiency are the name of the game? As you expand your offerings to cater to the pros, it may have the potential to put off newcomers who may feel overwhelmed. So some questions that need to be answered are: How many of your current customers detail for dollars, and do you want to capture more of that market? Or would you rather focus on people that just want to keep their nice cars shiny? (And you may have lots of customers that fall somewhere in between!) Whatever you do, don't lose sight of your core offerings: high quality easy to use products, backed by incredible customer service! Thanks for listening!
  16. After doing a few cars for the first time recently, I found it was easier to apply the entire car before buffing it off. It made it much easier to see if I missed any spots, and was faster than wiping after each panel. As Chris said above, use a thin layer, as any excess will just be wasted as you remove it onto your towel. Careful with belt buckles, buttons, and zippers from your clothes scratching while you are applying. Flip your towel over to a clean section after wiping off each panel. When you are finished, pull your car out into the sun to give it a good final inspection to see if you missed wiping off any spots. The colder temperature shouldn't affect anything, but it may take just a minute longer for the sealant to haze over as the solvent will evaporate more slowly. If you apply the entire car first before going back around to wipe it off you shouldn't have any problem. Also, be prepared for your garage to smell like black licorice. The LPS is really easy to apply and remove, and does keep your car cleaner looking. It is totally worth the 30-40 minutes it will take you. Enjoy your shiny car!
  17. No, haven't purchased any gallons yet. I guess I forgot about those. I knew absolutely nothing about auto detailing and stumbled across Adam's in my search to keep the black BMW shiny about 3 months ago. I have ADD, so I have a tendency to go all-in when I discover something new, then after a while I get bored and move on. So, my cars will look really shiny for the next 6 months or so, then I will probably move on to something else to keep myself entertained. I am a private pilot and flying is my real passion, so most of my disposable income is burned up in the form of 100LL avgas!
  18. If Adam's sold a "One of Everything we sell" kit and a "Bunch of extra towels" kit, that's about how much I have spent in the last 2 months alone. (That includes a Cyclo polisher, but not the Flex... yet!)
  19. As someone who discovered Adam's products during Dylan's sabbatical, it seems kind of funny to me the success or failure that people have placed on Adam's in accordance with Dylan's presence. I mean absolutely offense to Dylan, but Adam's products worked just as well for me even when Dylan wasn't here. Don't get me wrong, Dylan seems like an awesome guy, he knows his stuff, and I know he played a big role in the development of the current product lineup, but the products that I have used from Adam's have worked the same whether or not he is was on the payroll. Have we all forgotten about that guy named Adam? Doesn't he deserve some credit?
  20. If you want to go ballistic, check out the first post in this thread: http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/27009-adamized-the-raptor/
  21. I'd like to see instructional videos on cars that don't already look flawless. For example, it's hard to see what Matt actually accomplished on the Ferrari this video: http://adamspolishes.com/video?video_id=11 , and in this video it looks like Adam is cleaning a car that looks pretty clean to begin with: http://adamspolishes.com/video?video_id=8 It's really cool to see those exotic and classic cars in the videos, but they don't really do a great job at demonstrating the effectiveness of the the products when the cars already look so good. Thanks for listening!
  22. I guess this was my primary concern. I know it will look more deep/wet/glossy with wax, but if it looks dirty all the time, what's the point. I think I will try testing a panel with Buttery, Americana and just Sealant and see what it looks like in a week.
  23. I spent this weekend applying LPS to my daily drivers to prepare for the winter season. I love how LPS keeps my cars looking so clean, but the black BMW doesn't have that deep wet look that wax gives it. I am trying to decide whether or not I want to top the sealant with wax. As black car owners know, black cars own you. I want to do whatever to takes to keep it as easy to keep clean as possible over the winter. I know topping it with Buttery or Americana will make it look much better, but I dread the thought of spending more time trying to keep it looking clean. With carnaubas more likely to attract dust/dirt vs sealant I'd like to know others opinions of keeping a black daily driver clean with LPS alone vs LPS topped with Buttery or Americana. Would Buttery or Americana be better at staying clean? Should I just forgo the wax if my goal is keeping it looking clean? Also, a somewhat related question: What about wax in the summertime? I know carnaubas can "melt" on hot cars during the summer, but what actually happens? Does it start looking bad, or does it just sublimate off? Does the "melted" wax become a dirt magnet? Should I bother using wax on a black daily driver during the summer? I've read Buttery can be applied to hot surfaces, so does that mean it is more resilient to summertime heat? Thanks in advance for your responses! (And yes, I have already read the FAQ's in this forum, but I am specifically interested on ease of keeping my black car looking clean)
  24. As Adam noted earlier in this thread, as big as Amazon is, they are not making any money from their shipping model. They have realized that from a profit and loss standpoint, free shipping for prime members is not sustainable over the long term and has recently started incentivising prime members to choose slower shipping at check out. http://www.forbes.com/sites/retailwire/2014/08/01/is-amazon-prime-suffering-from-its-own-success/ Their business model is to completely wipe out all of the competition, even if it means taking a loss over the short term (and they often take losses), to strengthen their position over the long term. I am a small business owner myself, and I know how it sucks to try and compete with the giant behemoths that can afford to drive the small guys out of business. This is why I have no problem paying a little extra for shipping to support a small business, because I know the big box execs are already making plenty of money.
