This customer wanted me to polish his paint and get the most defects out as i could as he was putting an exo-cage on this coming week. I honestly have never seen paint as hammered as this. There were tons of trail rash as you can see in the pictures. Lots of deep scratches with a lot of thin ones as well. He also just ran the Rubicon so i was up to a pretty heavy task. Owner did not want to have me touch the windows because he honestly didnt care. He didnt want me to touch the undercarriage nor the tires but i couldnt resist. I had to go through a few different products and pads before i finally found one that worked for this paint and situation. This was also the first detail ive done while "mobile". What a pain, i dont know how others can do it, i much prefer home field advantage. This one took roughly 5 hours to complete.

Tried out the H2O Gloss & Guard today - what a terrific product!  I've gotten the coupe pretty well cleaned up from the winter but there was still tar and stuck-on road mung that needed clay. Since clay can take off some of the sealant, and I'm not going to have time to do a proper polish and seal for a while, I wanted something that would provide a bit more protection. I am not disappointed!  Easy to use, beautiful shine.

Started off with a good wash. First, wheels and wells.  One bucket with shampoo, the other to rinse.  Wells get a spray of APC the scrubbed with medium woolie and shampoo. Wheels are washed down with the large woolie and shampoo.

Wash down the vinyl trim with a utility towel and shampoo.

Spray the car down with the foam gun (liking that, too) then hand-wash with the wool mitt and my new 10" wash pad. The covered buckets are wash water and rinse water. Covers are on to keep out falling plant bits and small flying creatures that can't resist the shampoo. Followed up with clay on the lower panels where the road mung had collected.

Pulled in to the garage to dry due to the afore-mentioned falling plant bits and small flying creatures.  Sprayed down with Detail spray to dry. Used my new plush drying towel (totally sold on these).

On to the serious shine. I opted for the "dry" application of the G&G in order to finish cleaning up the lower panels with Revive.  First, a blow-dry with the Sidekick to get out the drips then went over the panels with Revive.  Followed up with G&G sprayed onto a damp double-soft, wipe over a panel, then dry and buff with another double-soft. Easey-peasey!  And check out the shine! I used a little on the wheels and it even brought out some gloss on the matte finish.

Final step is putting all the towels into pre-soak - last two buckets (bringing my total to 6!), one for dark, the other for white, with two or three good pumps of APC. These will soak until tomorrow when I can wash them.

Just back from a trip on and down the east coast. Before this trip the car was spotless and had a fresh coat of quick sealant on the nose and side mirrors.

Total of 2000 miles this past week. After 1000 miles I removed the bugs from the nose, side mirrors and windshield. Those first 1000 miles were worse from bugs than the second 1000 miles but I don't have pics from that first 1000 miles. The brake dust in these pics is from the 2000 miles and the pollen was worse earlier but most of it was blown off during the last drive.

Quick sealant did a great job of making the bug removal fairly easy.

Here are a few pics before it was cleaned up:

Just a quick example of the cleaning power of All Purpose Cleaner followed by a little Invisible Under Carriage Spray.  A Trim and Lug nut brush, along side an old Boars' Hair Wheel brush that I've relegated to wheel wells and engine bays were used to get into all of the nooks and crannies.  This car is #48 of 50 911 Club Coupes from 2007.  It has just over 20K miles on it and the owner wanted me to make it look like it!  Enjoy.....

Used the "old" red shampoo, 2 wash pads, 2 buckets with grit guards for the wash.  Then 2 great whites for the drying, before moving to a coat of Buttery and finishing it off with VRT on the tires and trim.  Great excuse to be outside yesterday!

Anyway; my tailgate area hasn't been beading much so I ran over it with clay bar, white pad, white polish, LPS & a coat of buttery wax. Then I've been neglecting my door jams.. So broke out the 2 step polish and protected with LPS with a foam block, worked great!

Sac reacted to mtnbiker326 in Review of New Car Wash Wedge and H2O Guard & Gloss.
Good Afternoon Adam's Family & Enthusiasts...

I completed a quick (1.5hr) 2 bucket wash, clay and seal using the new Car Wash Wedge and H2O Guard & Gloss.

Below is a quick review of both products, as they fit into this particular car washing routine.

First off, I want to document the state of my vehicle prior to washing and sealing and my initial thoughts on the 2 products.

There is a decent amount of build up of dirt, bird droppings (x4+), brake dust, etc.

When I received the box with all my products, I was stoked (as usual).  I opened the box and found my car wash wedges and H2O Guard & Gloss.  At first glance, I was kinda turned off by the foam fingers themselves (within the wash wedge pad) and thought that they would be terrible (compared to the car wash mitts/pads).  It took a few calls to Ben (Adam's AWESOME CS and Sales Agent) and having my fears and questions answered (while the soap was building in the bucket, literally) for me to press forward with the wash wedge.  The H2O Guard & Gloss was a little bit trickier to understand.  By this I mean, I was wondering (and asked Ben) how do you pay attention to one panel at a time (using this product) while the rest of the car is in the sun and water is drying (hard water) on the rest of the panels, you just washed and clayed?  After a few minutes of discussion with it, I found most of the answers I needed to move forward.  Always keep the car wet (without getting the parts you just dried wet) and move somewhat quickly (as you are not putting all that much product on the car to begin with).

The products I used for this project are below.  (including a small kwazar full of Detail Spray)

Starting off I worked on the wheels.  I knocked down the brake dust and grime with DWC and the newer red bristle wheel brush.  BTW, the Red wheel brush is AMAZING.  It has ACTUALLY saved me money in the amount of DWC I have to use on each wheel, just to get the brake dust off.  I went from using almost an entire 16oz bottle of DWC PER WASH to now using 4-6 oz.  THAT IS AWESOME.

Ok, getting back to the real review.  After cleaning the wheels themselves and hitting the tires with some APC (and blue tire brush) and Tire Shine (after the wash was complete), I moved on to the actual washing of the vehicle.

Since I had been using Rinseless Wash regularly with this vehicle, I figured that I needed to strip off whatever wax was on the paint to begin with, that way the rest of the review could take place correctly.  To do this, I used my foam gun and the 2 Bucket Wash method.  I added about 3-4 oz of full strength APC to the foam gun (just to be sure) and another 5-7 oz into the wash bucket (being thorough).

I then began my routine 2 bucket wash (with the wedge standing in for my wash pads).  I used Adam's "Old" Car Shampoo, in the small travel bottle.  I have to say, after knocking out a few panels, I LOVE this wedge.  I can do multiple panels (lightly dirty) with one trip to the buckets.  Once I got to the belt-line, I did have to go back much more frequently.  However, going back to the buckets was much easier and I didn't have to waste as much time rubbing a (two-sided) mitt or pad against each grit-guard, just the wedge itself.  The bug guts and dirt came off effortlessly and the wedge was ready to go again, without any issues.  After completing my wash, I did notice one small point that stood out for the wedge.  That is, the small foam "fingers" were small enough for the wedge to fit in between and clean each of the fins within my BMW kidney grills, up front.  That made me so happy.  I could clean 4 or 5 ribs in a single swipe (a little pressure to fit the fingers in between).  It was awesome.

As a point to note, I did see that after completing the wash, the car wash wedge fingers were a little tangled up and it was a little tricky to get them separated again.  (If anyone has a suggestion on this point, I would love to hear it)

So, on to claying.  I was initially going to also include the new blue clay bar as a part of this review, but I still have a few standard clay bar boxes laying around so I decided to use up my old stock first and review it later.

I decided, for the purpose of this review, to keep the claying technique constant and focused towards the Adam's Purists.  I used nothing but Detail Spray as a lubricant, that way there would be no issues with the claying process or this part of the review (even though I prefer waterless/rinseless wash for my claying lubricant).

I clayed the entire car, from top to bottom (except wheels... wish I had time to take them off and seal them... need to get on that... after a year of promises to myself  ).

After the clay, I rinsed the entire car off and prepped for the H2O Guard & Gloss sealant treatment.  I started on the hot side of the car (as I wanted to get that water off QUICKLY).  I used my go-to towels for this job, my boarder-less blues and a Great White.  I started out spraying 4 or 5 sprays on each panel and found that most of it was soaking into the (prepped) damp boarder-less blue and wasn't being as effective as less.  (a tip shared by Ben prior to starting)  So less is more and even less than I thought was "less".  After the first few panels, I started using 2 or 3 sprays on each panel (depending on size).  It worked like a charm.  I love this new product.  It saves me from drying the car and then putting quick sealant or pain sealant (with my Flex) on top, as an additional, time consuming step.  I have yet to see how long the sealant will last, but I will be using my Rinseless Wash here soon, in order to build up a layer of wax on top, to further strengthen and postpone degradation of the sealant from the Guard & Gloss.

Overall, I couldn't be happier with this product.  I will state, though, that if you are doing this outside, do it in the morning or early evening as you will avoid water spots (with harder water regions).  I regret that in my haste, I didn't remove all of the water quick enough on the roof and have a few spots sealed underneath the Guard & Gloss and will need to be removed with another clay session and paint correction (already planned and needed, regardless).

So, on to the results... Here is my car with the 2 bucket wash, clay, and sealant applied.  I do say it does shine up nicely.  This doesn't have any additional detail spray, wax or glaze on it.  I wish I had time to perform a Full Face-Melter.  Next time, I guess.

In conclusion, these two products, the New Car Wash Wedge and H2O Guard & Gloss are worth their weight in the toolbox of the Adam's Car Cleaning Garage (or other space ).  I highly recommend each of them and praise their engineering and creative teams for the R&D put into them.

If you have any questions regarding either of these, Adam's Reps will be more than happy to help (as will I, via these threads).

Thanks for reading and enjoy the polishing!

Well it's been a productive last couple days for me, using only Adam's products I was able to take my car from a ~85% to a ~95%

    Steps I used:
Two bucket wash at a local self service car wash (no car washing allowed at my complex)
Rinseless car wash mix 16:1 spray to wipe down dusty areas from driving home
Detail spray + Clay bar (and a hit of Deep wheel cleaner in the rougher areas)
Two-step correction with Cyclo (Foam and Microfiber pads.. yes 4 passes each oops!)
Wipe down with a double-plush microfiber
Paint sealant by Machine (speed setting of 3)
Let it cure for an hour, wiped off and let it sit over night
Woke up in the morning and used the hand-applicator to apply Buttery Wax

    Things I've learned:
    - Test area is to determine whether foam or microfiber is the better option, don't have to use both! oops
    - Use a foam pad with the focus drill to hit the deeper scratched areas first before making a normal pass on that section with the Cyclo (seriously felt like this was the best money spent on the drill attachment)
    - Slinging polish is no joke and will happen if you re-apply detail spray to the pad, get an awkward angle, or fail to move around the gooped up portions of the polish
    - If you sling polish, clean it up within a couple minutes or it will harden and be harder to remove from panels/windows
    - I need to work on my polishing pattern, discipline was pretty weak in that I may not have covered each area equally

    Here's some pictures

    Everything unpacked

First pass, I picked too large of an area to work with just starting out!

I did a full detail on our Challenger over the past two days. I pulled the wheels and used Adams Deep Wheel cleaner to get rid of any brake dust and Adams APC to clean the tire on the inside. I then sealed the barrel and inner wheel with Adams Quick Sealant. I also sealed the front of the wheel. For the rest of the car I did a wash, clay (windows and plastic too), Adams Paint Correcting polish (with the Flex), Adams Liquid Paint Sealant. Today I topped that with Adams Patriot Wax. I also used the Quick Sealant to all the plastic, door/trunk/hood jams, and lights. To finish up I put SVRT on the tires and Undercarriage Spray to the wheel wells. I'm glad Spring is here!

Got to say this is the best this truck has looked and it was the least effort I have ever had to do to get it this why. Thank you Adams polishes u have a customer for life here. I just need to get a few more things and then replacements for here on out. This is going to be a fun summer for sure.

All of the other stuff work great as well. Didn't get a chance to take a picture but the car turned out great now to get the wife to keep it that way lol.

Had someone who wanted to strip whatever they put on at the dealership and clay, seal and clean the interior as they have a baby and it was pretty dirty.

I didn't have any before pics because he showed up a little late and its a year old so it wasn't in terrible shape to begin with. He washes it himself and has decent OTC stuff. I started off with a strip wash, leading to the tires and wheels being APC cleaned and scrubbed. Moved on the the paint with a standard 2 bucket wash with strip wash soap. Surprisingly this thing was pretty dirty and the water was very dark afterwords. The customer didn't want a polish nor cared about correction so i clayed the paint and wheels along with the windows. Once cleaned off the paint i threw on a sealant and topped that with a glaze/wax. Left a very nice finish even though i was fighting with pollen all day long. The tree out front was dropping pollen balls and blowing it all over the car every time i wiped it off. The small blower was my friends today.

I moved on to the inside, vacuuming and then dressing the dash, seats and then door panels. Finished it off with cleaning the glass. once the interior was tip top i moved to dress the tires trim and grille plastics.

Nothing crazy, nor a huge turn around. Cleaned and protected. Customer was very happy and lined up his wife's car for a future date.
