  1. That sucks... TheWolf is on the money with his advice. I go to wally mall somewhat frequently and knock on wood I've never been victim of such a thing.
  2. Not to bring back the thread from the dead but, you'd asked: What makes the truck a dust magnet? I've found with mine it's applying detail spray etc with a dry MF towel. I now pretty much just blow dry and the dust attraction is greatly decreased.... I have wondered about using a damp towel to apply detail spray to stop the insane dust magnet status.
  3. I have, Pads: 1 microfiber 2 orange 2 white 2 black 1 red Lots of plush towels some Adams some of equal quality, I think I've got a dozen or so 'good ones' that I'll touch paint with. A couple of waffle weaves, 3 or 4 glass towels and a whole tote of junk MF towels for dirtier tasks. I'd like to grab another dozen or so plus MF's and a second MF cutting pad. I guess my birthday is coming up maybe good gift ideas for the family however, being in NE Ohio I doubt I'll get much use outta 'em till spring...
  4. I've often fantasized about washing in the garage but, my lousy old garage floor is cracked and no longer slopes to the drain in the center so it would be a big mess. If not I'd probably have a tarp or three to hang up as curtains and wash in the garage.
  5. I do the same for my truck. I also just break out my 6' step ladder.
  6. Nice Chevy! If these had been out when I bought my fullsize GM a couple years back I may very well have picked one up.
  7. Really nice color on that Toyota! The new Camry's are very attractive compared to previous generations.
  8. Awesome! I love getting my rides cleaned up! You're lucky to get your new car right from the start!
  9. Really nice truck I loved the look of the original colorado's and being able to get that 5.3 in there is an option I wish they would have carried over into the new gen mid-size trucks. Your photography skills are top notch as well!
  10. Congrats, having a garage is awesome I love mine!
  11. Thanks for all the tips guys! I bought some quick connects and a lead hose, plus tossed a quick shutouff valve on the end of my hose to make changing attachments easier now that I've got, a foam gun, hose nozzle and a sheet rinse hose, plus a pressure washer that could all come into play.
  12. Dude, That is genious! I will make one of these before my next wash!
  13. Just bought it at lowes.com for pickup tomorrow! Thanks for reminding me of those things!
  14. TheWolf, yes I thought of this as well, I was looking @ home depot just last night ironically but, because it's the end of the 'gardening' season the HD seemed to be out of them in store. I will buy online!
  15. Dawn dish soap solution may help, I've had luck with a good high quality pencil eraser.... Dang new K2 GMC trucks have those darn plastic fender trims which look awesome IMO but, suck up polish and wax..... I need some SVRT it gets old taping that jazz off.
  16. Well long story short, I got a foam gun over the weekend and really wanted to try it out but, the dwindling day light and the need to do other things tonight put me in a 'hurry up and get it done' mode while washing the truck...... Result was a nice scratch on the bedside when I was doing a sheet rinse(drug the hose across the bedside ).... Which resulted in getting out the Polisher and fixing said scratch, which was more transfer than scratch thankfully, so I wound up spending more time than if I had just worked at a comfortable pace and done it right to begin with ..... I'm sure I'm not the only one to learn this lesson the hard way but, maybe I'll save someone else some trouble!!!
  17. I just did a strip wash, clayed and sealed my truck with LPS that stuff works awesome.
  18. Thanks guys! I'll have to pick up some APC & SVRT. I'll remove the cover and work on it on a table in the garage and wipe down as suggested!
  19. Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll have to add that to my next order.
  20. Hey guys is there an Adam's product that would work well to protect and enhance the appearance of my tonno pro vinyl tonneau cover? SVRT?
  21. Go with the detail spray, gotta get the right tool for the job, it's worth the investment.
