  1. I have a new Silverado pickup, getting ready to clean, clay, polish, wax. So, do I need to wash with new Strip Wash and then clay? Thanks, Doug
  2. Hey Rich, so I don't have to pull a wagon around is there free shipping on orders over $100? I need a lot of stuff! Thanks. Doug
  3. Yes, jeans......and black boots. I'm from Jersey so I don't really know better.
  4. Ok, I'll be there. I'll be wearing blue jeans and a white pull over shirt, you can't miss me!
  5. Ok guys, I'll be there Saturday. But where is the Adam's location, near the red building, etc.? My wife has given me lots of cash to update my inventory! Thanks. Doug
  6. Working on my new Silverado. Will wash, clay, Correcting / Finishing polish, then LPS. Now, since it will sit outside and as MSW is easy to apply with a gray machine pad (truck is big) what are your thoughts. I always liked MSW, have a fresh bottle but probably a few years old. Would this be better than Americana over top of LPS? Thanks. Doug
  7. I'm sure Adam and the crew would come up with something unique, a pole material that would not scratch. I still think it is a good idea.
  8. Just wondering as I was washing my new Silverado Crew Cab. Maybe I missed a product already existing, but I would really like the wash pad on a poll. Especially for a truck / SUV that has hard to reach in spots. Plus I wonder with women washing their car or truck, maybe they would appreciate not dipping their hands in a bucket of suds (polished nails, etc.?). So, just a thought. Thanks. Doug
  9. Ok, have not posted in a while, have a 2016 Silverado LTZ Crew Cab on the way. Deep Ocean Blue Metallic, Cocoa perforated leather, 20" chrome wheels. So, I figure to do the whole truck, my thoughts / questions are: Paint - Clay, Correcting Polish, then Finishing Polish? Interior - Not sure if I should do Interior Cleaner or Total Interior Spray to get a clean start. Then Leather conditioner? Chrome Wheels - Don't recall if there is an Adams Wheel Sealer. Tires - Black Wall, not sure if just clean or do VRT. Suggestions appreciated. I have the older style 7" pad machine, and the Correcting & Finishing pads. Thanks, Doug
  10. Makes sense to me. Successful business operates in a global economy, restrict yourself and be left behind. Outside of the USA does not mean junk. Junk from anywhere is simply JUNK! I trust Adam to find the best products available and if it has an Adam's sticker on it I will assume & trust it has been researched and is a quality product. Continuing to source as much as possible from USA companies is still at the heart of Adam's. So, just more good stuff to buy from Adam's. I will continue to be a loyal Adam's customer.
  11. I kind of like the thought everything comes from Adam's home base, gives it a personal touch. No problem for me waiting a day or so more for something I really like. ROCK ON ADAM'S !
  12. I've been asleep for a while, did Paint Correction and Paint Finishing replace S&H Remover and Fine Machine Polish? If so are my orange and white pads still o/k to use? Are my old polishes still o/k also?
  13. Ok, got it. Thanks so much again. Busy at work right now, try to do an order later.
  14. About a bottle and a half. Bought more than I needed to save on shipping and just did not use it soon enough I guess.
  15. Well, Adam's responded to my question about watery VRT, and all I can say is Adam's as a company (Adam) is just incredible. Turns out the shelf life for best results is about 2 years, records show mine is about 3 1/2 years old (goof ball me!), longer than I thought. So, really somewhat my fault for not using it in such a long time. But, I get an e-mail last night from Ben in Customer Satisfaction saying they are giving me 2 new VRT bottles plus throwing in a Gift Certificate. Certainly more than I expected. So, I remain of course a loyal Adam's customer, whatever they had decided. Once again here is an example of a company that goes out of their way to make sure customers are more than happy and taken care of. Great products, from a great company, run by a great person, with a great staff. I just love these guys!
  16. Thanks. I did send an e-mail to Adams today about this.
  17. My two bottles of Super VRT have turned the consistency like shaking a quart of whole milk. And seem to leave more of a slight gloss finish (i.e., on a vinyl top) than the usual mat finish. And yes, if I shake them for almost a minute the consistency does not change or thicken up. They are stored in my garage (cabinet) which is heated and air conditioned, and I would say the bottles are a year or a little more old. So, any thoughts on this?
  18. Nice work, takes a lot of time and patience to do an entire car the right way. Good Luck going forward.
  19. Wow! Good Lord, what a beauty & beast all rolled into one. Can't imagine what that was like to run that thing hard, Damn, just Damn!
  20. Started with a dated 010 4 bolt main block, SCAT 383 Stroker balanced assembly, H Beam rods, Mahle lightweight pistons, AFR 195 Street Eliminator heads, Comp Cams custom Roller Cam, with 1.6 rockers gives lift intake .536 exhaust .544, Edelbrock intake, custom 780 Holley from Custom Rebuilt Carbs here in Jersey, MSD ignition. Result is around 10.5:1 C.R. and HP & Torque should be in the 500 range.
  21. Have not run it yet, just finishing it up. Original factory 12 bolt. Still have to add subframe connectors. Stock factory up front, probably just disconnect front sway bar links when I run it. Also has LineLock, drive shaft loop, and a 25 lb. flywheel. I expect at least low 12's, maybe high 11's. Idea was a Day 2 1968 Nova. That's why I switched to dog dish, Firestone Wide Ovals, MT bias slicks, added vintage Sun tach to steering column. Has Muncie shifter lever adapted to a Hurst Competition linkage under the console. It's a real 68 SS Nova with 59,000 original miles, all original sheet metal and floors, no rust or body filler. Vinyl top, dash pad, etc. is all original. I have the original typed dealer order invoice from 1968, car was around $2,400 then had around $1,100 in factory options added, that was one reason I bought the car, fairly rare Nova with all the options in 1968. Thanks for the comments.
  22. Well, I respect everyone's right to do what they want, but IMHO here is my take. Maybe I'm talking from my age (64). I try to picture where my money winds up when I buy something. I live in a small town and shop at the local hardware store, Sunoco station, local NAPA store, etc. Owner of the hardware store is a good family guy, member of volunteer fire department, Sunoco station owner offers his tools if I'm working on my car and need something, NAPA guys drop off parts on my front porch on their way home from work if I'm out or busy, and so on. So, I pay a little more in town, could buy things cheaper at Home Depot, can buy gas a few cents cheaper on the highway from the guy who looks like he just arrived from Iran (no disrespect, may be a good person). I have met Adam at a show in Carlise a few years ago, and he reminds me of the local business owners in my town, who are my neighbors. And we all know the great service Adam's offers and their helpful staff. So, I buy all my supplies from Adam's, knowing I'm getting quality, knowing if there was an unusual problem I can talk to a real person who probably won't read me the fine print if you know what I mean. I hope the business owners in my town and Adam make a decent profit from the things I buy, so they are able to stay in business and take care of their families & employees. If all that happens I am very happy.
