To answer your questions...
The steps I would use would be - Wash the car following the practices per the videos (i.e. wheels and tires first, rinse, soap, rinse) If I were you I would follow the daily driver video sequence as far as clay while wet, also if you want to use a second bucket (I would) use the grit guard in your rinse bucket until you can get a second grit guard.
2)The clay bar will remove stuck on contaminants. I would soak the bird bomb with DS unless you happen to have some WW or RW but if all you have is DS then it will work better than nothing. let it soak for a few minutes to break up the spot and then make sure it rinses off with your initial rinse. if there is anything left "stuck" in the paint from it then when you clay it will remove it. also if there is any etching from it the revive will really help take this off.
