  1. I used my new wash mit for the first time yesterday. That thing holds a ton of suds. Took forever to rinse out.
  2. I was apprehensive about tackling this job as well but after watching the videos and getting input from other forum members I was able to do it as well. I cleaned mine and my wife's last weekend. My truck is new (less than 3 months old) so it wasn't really dirty but my wife's SUV is 3 years old and has 45k miles. It looked horrible under her hood. Sprayed with water, used APC, used the fender brush to agitate and sprayed off. Then I dressed it with VRT and In and Out spray and even her's looks new again. Now that they are both new looking clean it should be super easy to keep up with once or twice a year. The videos and forum are a great resource.
  3. Am I the only accumulating a bunch of 16 oz bottle sprayers? Every time you order a bottle of something it comes with a new sprayer but I don't use them for some reason. When I'm done with a bottle of something I open a new bottle and reuse the same sprayer. It's good to have spares but I have at least 10 new sprayers sitting in a box that may never be used.
  4. Welcome from Tx as well. How do you drive the '14 GT when you have the 350 sitting there? I'd never get in the GT again. LOL
  5. I just use the spray on small areas since I have 3 cans. It wipes off paint and glass super easy.
  6. I have some waterless from MBs as well and I use it for door jambs, painted areas under the hood and I'll presoak bugs and other junk on the front end of the truck before I wash.
  7. I use and like VRT and the In and Out spray version for smaller trim pieces. I find it easy to wipe off glass and paint so I don't hesitate to use it.
  8. this is the first time I see mention of taping off rubber trim. not good to get a little polish on it?
  9. Perfect - thanks for the info. The wife's SUV is dark blue and I can see fine scratches / swirl marks so I'll go with orange foam pad and correcting polish first. What are suggestions for my truck - as you can see below it is light colored and brand new. Would I get any benefit from a polisher with it? Does it pay for me to strip wash, clay (again) and apply finishing polish or reapply paint sealant with the polisher? Thanks
  10. So I'm getting ready to buy a polisher - probably going with the Porter Cable since its the most affordable. I've been watching videos and reading the forum but have a few questions. I will strip wash and clay first then use correcting polish. It seems like there are 2 pad options for the correcting polish if I am reading things correctly. The orange foam pad and the microfiber cutting pad. Do they do the same job or do you need both? Then follow that with the paint finishing polish with the white pad and paint sealant with the grey pad- correct? I should be getting the 6" pads for the porter cable correct? Thanks for the clarification.
  11. I've been watching videos on how to use the polishers, correcting polish and finishing polish. In one video the applied the finishing polish directly over the correcting polish. In another video they buffed the correcting polish off before applying the finishing polish. What's the difference?
  12. I have liquid paint sealant under Americana wax and I use G&G about every other wash.
  13. I came to this section to post basically the same question. When I first came to this forum I thought I had no need for a polisher since my truck is light grey and you can't really see swirl marks on it like a dark colored car but I was washing my wife's dark colored SUV the other day and noticed a ton of swirl marks so I think I am getting a polisher as soon as there is another 15% off sale. My plan - - strip wash - correcting polish - finishing polish - paint sealant - Americana wax (few days later) I'm skipping the clay step as I just clayed and sealed her SUV a few weeks ago. Question on the strip wash. I know some people use Dawn soap but I read somewhere about people using Adams car shampoo and putting All Purpose Cleaner in it. Will that strip the sealant and Americana wax as well? Thanks,
  14. Woke up at 5.30 am to get my son to a 7am baseball game. Single elimination tournament so you play until you loose. Ended up playing 3 games, lost in the semifinals. Got home at 7pm. 12 hours at the baseball fields. Loved every minute of it.
  15. My mom is in town from out of state for the weekend. I clayed, washed, and sealed her car.
  16. ordered more Adam's products
  17. Yeah I just washed my double and single softs that I used with G&G and they have a little grey to them now. I just ordered some borderless grey towels to use with G&G in the future.
  18. I'm fairly new to Adams and wanted some when I first heard about it but learned it was no longer offered. I thought it would be great to use on wheels. To seal them after cleaning them really well. What else are others using it for?
