  1. Good point, I'm a moron hahah. My hose water is more like room temp now that I really think about it. If you want to feel cold hose water, I grew up in Maine. That well water was like ice year round! As for my observations, I'll try switching up the process next time. Maybe try some hot sink water, or less soap. No idea. Maybe today was a little hotter than usual and it affected the way the soap and water ran on the paint. I leave for sea tomorrow so when I get home again I'll give it another shot.
  2. Good thinking. I use hose water, so cold. But I also use the Adams Fire Hoze Nozzle so I get really good pressure in the bucket and on the pads
  3. I don't know what the water hardness is as it's at my fiancée's parent's house, but I followed the exact same process I would if I was using car shampoo, so that's what I was basing my observations off of. I don't know when I'll use the Wash and Wax again but I'll make sure to post my findings if I do.
  4. It does seem that people are having variable results with this product. I put in 3-4 ounces in the bucket, same as I do with CWS. I distributed it among my wash pad, wash wedge, and bucket before adding the water. I even added a little extra about halfway through the wash after noticing the suds had almost all disappeared, thinking I may have skimped a bit. I had applied HGG about a week and a half ago now, and this was my first wash since then. So I don't really know what to think at this moment. It definitely didn't really win me over, so to say. After my bottle is empty, I'll probably go back to my standard washes. I keep my SUV very well protected with sealants, HGG, and Patriot Wax because it sits for long periods of time. But again, once I get a few more uses of the Wash and Wax, I'll be in a position to make an informed decision.
  5. I'm just going to add my observations to this thread if you don't mind, Jake, so I don't have to start a new thread. I've only used it once but I felt uneasy using it. The lubricity was okay, not as good as Car Wash Shampoo IMO, and there were far less suds than CWS. It seems the soap and water dried on the car much faster than just the standard CWS as well, forcing me to wet the car with the sponge again before I did my rinse. The rinsing seemed different than normal rinse with just CWS, but I assume that was because of the wax input. The water ran off okay on the sides, but on the hood it spotted up a bit with small beads, and the rest ran off alright. Overall, I was unimpressed UNTIL I dried. I wiped it dry with the GWDT with Detail Spray, and at that point I could very easily see the additional shine on the paint. It also wiped very easily off the glass, leaving no streaks. At the end of the day, I'm going to give the product a chance after seeing the drying results. But it will take me a few more uses to really judge the product.
  6. I use the Interior Detailer all the time and I love the smell!
  7. Thanks everybody! I'm hoping I can get a few steady customers and just maintain their cars. Shouldn't be an issue where I live
  8. Mine only last a couple days at the most, but I ride with the windows down 99.99% of the time so the only time I smell them is when I first get in the car
  9. Hey ya'll. From my username, you guys can probably assume I spend a lot of time out to sea. Exactly half of each year, actually. I spend 3 weeks out on an oil tanker, then I get 3 weeks home to do whatever I want. Well, I'm only 24 so I'm really active and have been trying to figure out a good hobby to do when I'm home. My fiancee and I have decided to try to expand our love of detailing to other people. Currently, we're only doing free details and basically trying to get our work out through word of mouth. I only use Adam's products, and so far people have been absolutely amazed. With some top notch products and super attention to detail, I think my little hobby is going to take off, and hopefully I can make a little money on the side to help pay for our wedding! Well here's a few shots of the pearl white Nissan Altima we did today. I already have another couple cars and trucks lined up, and maybe the neighbor down the street will eventually let me detail his Lambo and Ferrari... And I'll just keep adding my projects to this thread. Anyways, here you go. Shine on!
  10. That's an extensive care cycle for your towels.. and if you've followed this routine consistently and this is the first time something bad has happened, I would have to think that the error is coming from the washer. Maybe a foreign substance sticking around after your last load?
  11. If you use the pumpkin spice detail spray, it'll be like a basic girl pumpkin latte!
  12. I'll have to try Dawn to see if I can get rid of the "grabbiness" as it's singularly the worst part about cleaning my windows.
  13. If you have the time to maintain your vehicle often, perhaps apply HGG instead of LPS? I had to do that as a temporary fix for a week or so and HGG brings out serious shine, perhaps more than LPS.
  14. Perhaps. But the right tool for the job was the older style towel. There was nothing wrong with them, which is why I'm so frustrated they came out with the newer towel and priced them much higher. Luckily I was able to buy some older style ones, so I can discard my new ones. I don't see why I should need multiple types of glass towels to get the job done, whether the glass is sticky or not. If only 1 type of glass towel is going to be offered, then it should be capable of getting the job done right. New or grabby windshields isn't a new concept, so maybe they weren't included in the testing process. I've talked with other people that dislike the new towels too, just not in this thread. Regardless, I'm not jumping down anybody's throat, but I respectfully believe they aren't that great. But I took care of it in my own way, and with that being said I have 2 practically new glass towels I'm willing to trade away to anybody interested. As a side note, driving down the road today towards the sun, I noticed streaks on the outside of the windshield as well. I know they're on the outside because I use the method of one of the Adams videos about wiping different directions so I know which side the streaks are on. The outside of my windshield is not grabby, as I just clayed and scrubbed it prior to sealing it.
  15. I will acknowledge that perhaps my windshield is sticky. My car is only a few months old, and the inside of the windshield does seem slightly grabby. But with that being said, the blue towels managed to clean my inside windshield just fine after the yellow towel failed. To me, and again I'm an avid Adam's fan, but I think the scrubber side of the new glass towel is a flawed design. I think the tight weave of the buffer side is fine, but the scrubber side should be redesigned to not leave behind lint and streaks, regardless of the glass surfaces it's used on. I don't see the point in having a towel with that type of surface to clean windows knowing that it has a possibility of leaving behind streaks and lint. Also while discussing scrubber abilities, while sealing the windows, I noticed the blue towels remove stubborn glass sealant much easier than the newer style. These are just my personal experiences. It seems most people have fantastic results and that's great, but I was hoping Adams would notice the few of us having some difficulties and perhaps make a small modification in the future.
  16. Let's just start with the fact that I am absolutely not hating on Adam's, as I've spent a LOT of money on their products and pretty much love and have everything they offer. But with these towels, it's a different story and I was wondering if anybody else felt the same. I have read many times over that these towels need to be washed before use, so I did. I also made sure to wash and seal my windows while they were cool and in the shade, but these are the issues I ran into. I found that the buffer side of the towel works alright since it's basically like what the old blue towels were like. However, the scrubber side left behind fine streaks and even fine particles of lint for me. It was particularly bad on the inside of the windshield. I was hoping the new towel would be the solution to a streak free inner windshield but it streaked bad enough that I had to clean it up with an older style towel. It came clean with the older style so the streaking must have been due to the newer towel. It was clean right off the stack as well. I know most people have had flawless experiences with these towels, and I'm sure it's an excellent, well thought out product., but I really haven't had the same experience. Luckily I was able to call Dan and purchase a bunch of older style towels so problem solved, but I just wanted to throw my experience out there in case anybody has similar cases or perhaps a solution. Thank you.
  17. It's good to see you using the cyclo! Great job, man!
  18. It's a great product as long as you keep in mind that you may need more than a single pass of the Strip Wash to remove all your old sealants and waxes.
  19. Well my Patriot has a while before it runs out, but I'll definitely be picking up some Americana eventually. I've heard nothing but great things about it
  20. Definitely true. I had a black truck before this and that looked fantastic when clean, but it only stayed clean for about 15 minutes after a wash. White has grown on me since I've gotten the 4Runner.
  21. We all know white hides dirt the best, but it doesn't mean it doesn't shine when she's clean! My fiancee and I detailed this morning and applied H20 G&G, and then topped it with the currently unavailable Patriot Wax. Not only does it smell good, but looks great, even on white!
  22. Another thing you may need to do is wash and start over. I have a black truck for a while and once I applied HGG over Paint Sealant before the sealant had cured, and I had horrible streaks everywhere. I couldn't do anything to remove them. So I rewashed and used LPS again, and then after my next wash a few days later, I applied HGG and it looked fantastic. So maybe if you have a base coat of something unfriendly, the HGG just isn't working well. Just an idea.
  23. You won't be disappointed. But keep an open mind in it's stripping ability and how fresh your sealant or wax is. Personally I had a week old layer of HGG on my paint and the Strip Wash took it right off, as well as my month old Glass Sealant. I also give this product a
  24. I used my Revive Hand Polish for the first time this past weekend. I was trying the new Strip Wash and after the wash, I clayed, and then applied the RHP with the blue hex grip, and removed the haze with a clean Double Soft. My paint is white so it's tough to tell how much it really works, but I can vouch for how easily it goes on and comes off. The hex applicators hold and spread product well, so I was able to keep it thin while my fiancee buffed it off behind me.
