  1. A good friend of mine asked me if I would work on the wheels on her Caddy.  No problem.....broke out my Adams arsenal and went to work.  The wheels came our perfect....so what the heck.....gave the care a complete bath. My wheel cleaning inspector approved!

  2. I thought that the Patriot wax was suppose to be more of a show car/concours wax and actually does not hold up to the sun as well as Americana but I could be wrong.

The Patriot wax is more of a concourse wax. The durability is about 2 months. It does produce a great shine. The Americana Wax will produce a good shine and last maybe a month or two longer. Both of them are great waxes. A little on the pricey side.

  3. I've used both and haven't really noticed any difference in shine or durability. Unfortunately for Adam's I've found a third party paste was that beats them both for ease of application, removal, shine (of course this depends on the prep work of clay and polishing) and (we'll see) the durability :( . Can't say who, but I'll use up my remaining Americana and Patriot and permanently switch.

  4. Well if that was the case for everything, then we could cut Adam's line up in half and substitute of other products that can "do the job." Glass boost, wash and wax, strip wash, list goes on and on. Adam's prides themselves on ease of application, so for us that deligate certain products to certain applications, why not. Clay lube may be able to be listed at a cheaper price than detail spray. In fact the reason I use Waterless instead is because it's cheaper. I don't really care why he thinks streaking matters. I'm more focused on the original topic of a new product, whether it's feasible or not. And if other carriers have it, then apparently it is. It's not like he's asking Adam's to create something nobody has ever heard of.

Dustin....my sediments exactly. Adam's needs to carry a Clay Lube in they're product line.

  5. For $15 you could get a 16oz bottle of Rinseless Wash and put 2 ounces in a gallon jug and have a gallon of Clay Lube. Its so easy. There is no need for to make a dedicated lube. Sorry I'm just failing to see the upside of a dedicated lube.

For $15 you can get 8 gallons of clay lube.

Jason......with that mix, my friends have had issues with streaking while claying. Even with 4oz. of Waterless Wash, it still streaked.  I'm sticking with a dedicated Clay Lube.....Thanks anyways.

  6. Before coming to Adam's I bought a gallon of a dedicated clay lube from the dark side and after really looking at it and using it, it was the same as one of their quick detail sprays....except the clay lube was more expensive.

As for the dark side....LOL the Clay Lube was $8.00 cheaper than they're detail spray in gallons. I just didn't want to screw around and dilute and mix the Waterless Wash and RO water and have the clay leave streaks. If Adam's would have sold a Clay Lube, I'd buy it from them. That in a way is my point. I think Adam's needs a Clay Lube on they're product line that meets the high standards I have experienced and expect with Adam's products.

  7. Do you think Adam’s would consider selling a dedicated Clay Lube Gallon size?  The reason I ask is that if I use the Adam’s Detail Spray as a lube, it would get a little expensive over time with all the cars I’m claying. I can go to a third party vendor and buy a gallon of clay lube for $10.00 less than what I’m paying for a gallon of Adam’s Detail Spray. I will go thru a gallon in no time with the cars I’m going to have to detail over the next month for friends. I hate to sound like a penny pincher, but I'm a retired guy on a fixed income and with my Adam's addiction......well, you know!

    Just a suggestion.

  8. Got a small problem. I have a friend of mine that want's his car detailed like "yesterday".  I need to strip wash the car but I ran out last week and haven't order a replacement. If I ordered it now, it would take too long to get here.

Anybody ever try taking Adam's Shampoo (1oz) and mixing it with Dawn (1oz) in the foam gun? I think that would raise the ph level to remove all the old was and junk on the car.

  9. I had the same issue a while back after a polish on the wife's Mercedes Benz and used a third party MF tower to wipe off the residue. (see pic) I just used the detail spray and the fibers (that looked like scratches) were gone. I will only use Adam's Microfiber towels from now on. I don't know where Adam's gets these, but they are the best Microfiber I've ever used. Never really had an issue with the Single and Double soft towels.

  10. Unable to log into my account.  Website server issues again.  Adam's needs a new IT service or guy to straighten this out. It's getting to be a little much.  HTTP 500 error!

  11. For friends, I ask for about 1/2 to 3/4 of what a Detailing Shop charges here in Las Vegas depending on the work involved. I do go the extra mile to make sure it's a perfect detail. (if there is such a thing)  I normally keep a car for 3 or 4 days and do the job myself.  I've detailed an exotic sports car and a RAM 1500 truck so far. My friends were ecstatic with the results.

  12. Looks good, but I guess I'm not seeing why you couldn't just use a hose on it.  Made that LV to LA trip a couple weeks ago.

Chris....didn't want to take a chance with the battery terminals even if I covered them. Plus there were a couple of relays that I didn't want to get soaked.

  13. Just got done detailing a Ram truck for a friend of mine. Needless to say it hadn't been washed after 2 long haul trips from Vegas to LA over the past 2 months. Anyways, when I went to detail the engine compartment.....holly chit!  Looking at it, i couldn't pressure was it due to all the exposed connectors and relays. Oh well!  Got the water spray bottle and some All Purpose Cleaner and a few small brushes and went to work. Funny in a way, you would think that Chrysler would cover all exposed relays on a truck with all the dirt roads and such trucks go thru. Here are a few before and after shots.
