A clarifying question. If I have a ceramic base (CSC) is it better to use DS or CS3 as a drying agent? Overall does using CS3 provide a better shine in the end as a drying agent? If so then I need to order another gallon

This is so great what you guys are doing! I needed to order a 64oz Ceramic Boost refill kit anyway so I ended up picking up hand sanitizer also since it's impossible to find in our area or even online.

This is a great thread! I have a black SUV that I'm moving to ceramic once the weather is a little bit better. Not doing the full ceramic paint coating but CSC instead simply because it looks easier I just ordered 64oz of Ceramic Boost so I can work that into the regular maintenance along with the CS3. By the way the comment above of not touching the black paint too much is a good one!

Great thread. I'm using CS3 over my PS/H2O G&G and it's working great. I was going to wait until the fall to move to ceramic but I don't think I can wait that long Now I'm thinking to strip, clay, decontaminate, polish, ceramic prep, and CSC. From there CS3 maintenance and ceramic boost every few months. Looks like I'll be using all my other products on my wife's SUV.

Ok so not even remotely epic as some of these cars. This is just my beater CRV but I'm somewhat obsessing over different products. Right now I have PS, H2O G&G and touch-ups with CS3. I'm close to stripping it all off and prepping for ceramic spray wax but right now it looks pretty good so I'll probably hold off until the end of the summer.

Your GTO looks great!! I almost bought a LS2 GTO with low miles a few years ago but passed since I was out of garage space. Now I wish I would have pulled the trigger!! It's raining in our area also so all I'm able to do is do a CS3 wipe-down in the garage after I've driven back and forth to the grocery store.

I used CS3 on my black SUV late last week and it has been rain every day since. The good news is the rain just flies off including the glass. After driving in the pouring rain every day since the application it still looks clean. It's like nothing is really sticking which is great. BTW I received my second gallon today so I think I'm set for a while

I'm going nuts with this stuff and probably using it too often on both our SUVs It is rather pricey but I bit the bullet and now have two gallons. At least now I don't mind using it as a QD.

I bought a small bottle and was very impressed! From there I ordered a gallon because this stuff goes fast. Fast forward to today where I ordered yet another gallon simply because of the 20TH sale I still have waterless wash but this is now my new go-to for quick clean-ups between full two bucket washes. I used to regret buying another black SUV but now it's a pleasure since keeping it looking sharp is just so easy now.

I too use Revive Hand Polish once a year to remove minor imperfections on my black SUV. It lives in the garage when it's not being driven and being from Nor Cal I don't deal with too much in the way of road salt or anything harsh. I too use the blue hand pad for the polish but I do also start off with a clay bar as the first step. After the polish it's really up to you as to which route you want to go. I still have so much Adam's Paint Sealant that I'll likely do that again this year but have also been thinking about ceramic. Too many excellent choices :) For maintenance it is just a two bucket wash with a foam gun first. Ever few washes I do the new H2H G&G which adds a bit more pop. The ceramic spray does look like a great way to go also.

Looks great! I have a black SUV and used it for the first time two weekends ago. About 2 months ago I did a full strip wash, clay bar, hand revive polish, VRT, and then on to PS. Since it's been several washings I decided to try out the H2O G&G. Very easy to apply and buff off with great results even on the trim as you mentioned. I found that giving each panel just a couple sprays helped with any potential streaking. Great product!!

I have had great results with the Revive Hand Polish if you don't want to mess with a machine. I have a black SUV and it is a good step after claying and before the sealant. My SUV is only two years old and lives in the garage most of the time. Our winters here in Nor Cal are also not very harsh so using an Iron Remover or more abrasive polishes has not been necessary. As a side note I washed my SUV this weekend and used the new H2O G&G and it is an excellent follow-up every 3-4 washes. The shine is great and will keep the sealant alive for much longer.

I used VRT before the hand polish and PS as recommended by falcaineer and it worked great! I did use some care around the trim just to be safe though. I did go a little too heavy on some places that took detail spray later on to clean-up. Even with that there was a few spots that were stubborn. The solution was to just wait a week and then do a standard two bucket wash and all was good with any minor remaining haze. By the way after the wash a week later it even looked better!

Last weekend I did a detail on my 2017 Black CRV AWD Touring. Started with a strip wash, VRT on the trim then clay. I did it this way so the next steps would not effect the trim as much. Next step was a revive fine hand polish then a coat of PS. I did go a little too heavy in some spots with the PS that took a little work to remove but otherwise I finished the whole job in a little under 4hrs. It turned out great and fortunately since the SUV lives in the garage most of the time it really only needs this level of care once a year. Next weekend I'll do a good two-bucket wash, a touch-up on the VRT, and a coat of Brilliant Glaze to make the black paint pop. The only potential down-side is my wife sees how good the CRV looks now she wants the same treatment on her MB GLK350!

I'm about ready to use LPS after a complete clay/fine polish. How is it around plastic trim? Should I treat the trim first with VRT to ensure the LPS does not cloud up the textured plastic?

I used my UP drying towel last week on my black 2017 Honda CRV and it worked great! Picked up way more water than I expected. I did use detail spray as I went along which helped the water run off. Used one towel but did go over with a double soft for the areas that were dripping such as the tailgate, door seals, and mirrors. Yet another great product!! Edit: Oh and I did use the non-looped side.
