I've been thinking of getting the Nest Protect Alarms as I need to replace all my CO alarms..

I got my 4 Nest smoke and CO detectors for christmas.  I need three more.  

If it's something I went and bought with gift cards, it was technically on my list somewhere right?

Finally washed the car after at least 4 months.  Having a new baby and working nights, time is limited.  Will finish detailing the tires and inside tomorrow.  

I got the faces installed in my gauges and reinstalled them. Now I just need to install it all into the car.

Thanks.  This is what a typical day looks like this time of year.  All residential.  And this is with 2 sections of my area pulled.  One day was told not to even look at how much I had.  I never do anyhow, but apparently had over 700 stops and 1000 pieces.  Definitely a challenge every day.
 
 I have never seen it this busy, in my 24 Christmas' that I have done this.  My area, I know has blown up this year.  Going from 200+ stops a day every other day to over 700 during Christmas is huge.  I have always been able to handle what was thrown at me, but this year was the exception.  People being mad on the internet is understandable, but they need to understand as well that things happen.  This was like the perfect storm.

Made it thru another Christmas.  Glad that it is over.  Some strange reactions when you show up on peoples porches at 2200 while they are in having their family party, and your still out trying to finish.  Made it home by midnight.

+1.  I've been very pleased with both the Yamaha receivers I've owned over the past 15+ years.  I had a Yamaha RX-V995 for 12+ years.  It still worked well when I sold it about three years ago so I could upgrade to the RX-V2065.  My biggest reason for doing so was to get HDMI switching, but the 2065 also offers network connectivity options the 995 didn't have.  
 
Look at the bright side, MAYBEN...  Failure of any old electronic component is an opportunity to UPGRADE.

The sad reality is that dealerships are much like a franchise, and GM doesn't dictate what is sold in the parts department. They can't force us on every dealer... we reach out to as many of them as we can but many times we have a heck of a time making headway with them.
 
If you happen to see him again feel free to let him know that we are sold in the National Corvette Museum, and the products that are used to prep every Corvette that rolls off the line in Bowling Green. We are certainly not "out of business".

I've never bought a HTIB before.  I'm a component guy.  We have a Denon for our upstairs and I'm not a huge fan.  It works OK though.
 
I had an Elite which IMO is one of the best for the money, but they cost MONEY which is why when I needed one with HDMI switching, I looked at Denon.  
 
My buddy's dad believes there's a chip in every new electrical device that knows when the warranty is up and makes the machine stop working.  lol

I'm in the same boat as you Nick. Our Phillips receiver works when it wants to, but it is low on the replacement list.

Went swimming in a sea of boxes and tried to makes sense of the mess.  400 stops and 550 pieces.

"Chinese FLEX" sounds like some weird workout.

The purchasing company is Chinese. The corporate offices, manufacturing, support, design, etc are all staying in Germany. The entire company is staying intact as is.
 
This is something we were aware of months ago and have had lengthy discussions with Flex about it. We have their full assurance there are no plans to move.

Went to go to the office this morning and discovered the driver's door on my G8 was frozen shut. Climbed over the seat and put it in the garage to thaw while I took the booboo van to work.

HECK YES!  Congrats on that bad boy!

Well, I got my present.  We literally drove it home in the ice and salt.  THAT was fun! I got it home and into the garage and whipped out the hose and rinsed it off, sprayed it with waterless wash that I supercharged with some Rinseless Wash and dried it off.  It'll have to do for now.  It was -7 on the way in this morning. BRR!!!

The car has a 418 stroker from TX Speed in it.  He built it SOLID for reliability.  The engine has about 2200 miles on it.  
Correction is coming...  It has to warm up some first though!
