So my car sits in the garage and comes out a few times a week.  However I really enjoy going out to the garage and wiping it down after work as I find it really relaxing.  I have been using the single or double microfiber towels just to wipe it down and will often use detail spray.  Is this okay for the car on a daily basis?  When I drive it I will usually use the waterless wash to clean it down before going into the garage, so that would be used at least once a week and then I have been using the detail spray on my daily wipe down.  I do not want to ruin or cause any issues with overuse of the products.  I would assume that just wiping the car down I may run the risk of causing a swirl, but is this risk high?      All in all I want to be able to detail/work on the car daily without the risk of really causing issues.

    Thanks in advance,

    Vince

Good question Vince! as long as the car is not overly dirty I think you should be okay. If it is dirtier than normal you may think about actually doing a wash. But if it just gets some light dust on the paint I think you should be okay with detail spray and waterless wash. You always run the risk of scratches if the paint is dirty but with light dust or dirt and a soft towel the risk is lower. Just be careful when wiping not to apply too mush pressure!

Four Bottle BFLE sets for $40

Definitely thought that they would do a 4 bottle bundle. maybe they will later on but i also thought they would do mystery buckets. thats what I was going to buy. with they would have made a gallon of the tire shine and ultra foam.. i would have bought like 4 of each!!

Started winter prep on my car with SW, Iron Remover, clay mitt and Ceramic Paste Wax (as the LSP). More pictures to follow in the next couple days as it was dark when I finished. I'm anxious to see it in the sunlight!

Here are a few pics of the Iron Remover in action.

So I had a door ding and red paint transfer. Tried the clay mitt but had a little issue with that, for some reason it left some residue transfer. Never fear. I broke out the Revive for the first time and, well, the results are obvious. RHP is a really underated product.

Nice Chris! I need to re wax mine before the weather gets really bad and I cant wash mine as much.I worked as a lot tech over the summer and for paint transfers the detailers would use lacquer thinner and it would come off with a rag. just a thought though for future reference!

Still can't believe yo got there that early Tim, but it was good to meet you ( Pete, with the orange drip hoodie )       I picked up 2 sets of the limited's, so i could actually use them.  new H20, spray wax, and tire armor.  I put some pics up on IG yesterday  @5280detailing   but that was just of  wash with the limited's. I'll be getting to  using the H20, and tire armor today.

They changed the layout a bit at the store. looks good. Nice turn out at 8am. Nothing too crazy. I bought the new H2O, fine clay bars, spray wax, and in & out spray. Also picked up an old All Purpose Cleaner and a key lanyard. I don't collect Adam's limited edition products so I didn't purchase any of those. Wasn't too impressed with the new t-shirts (very thin material). The sweatshirts looked nice but not for $60 after 20% off. That's getting into Harley Davidson price range and I don't buy those either.

Still planing on going on Friday morning. Unfortunately didn't get to meet up with anyone today. Never saw Tim or Pete. Not that I know what they look like. Ha!

I don’t know if I saw you either!! We were waiting outside at about 715 and then we were let in closer to 735-740. We will have to meet up Friday!

Got the new ride, and spent a few hours or 5 detailing her.  These are the steps I went through:

    Rinse

    Iron Remover

    Wash

    Clay

    Revive Polish

Paint Sealant (wait one hour before next step)

    Brillant Glaze

    Americana

    Tire shine.

    Looked great afterward.

Here is my problem, the next few days straight here yielded multiple inches of rain (a colleague of mine said we got 6” ).

This is my daily driver and unfortunately for now sits outside so it was exposed to all the elements and rain.  I came out to this the first morning it wasn’t raining.

Was it something I did, or just a byproduct of getting hammered with rain over consecutive days?

I have since cleaned it up with VRT, and it looks good again, but wondering if I need to apply wax again or repeat steps?

No. Nothing you did was wrong. I did the same thing to my Escape. lower part of the car is that same plastic and i cant remember what i had applied to it but i do remember coming out the next day after it had been wet and probably rainy and it was streaked. Probably just needs to be left to sit and dry longer but its okay dont stress it
