  1. Took a couple days to shine up the wife's Compass.  The wheels were nasty!  It took a few times with TRC to get them back to black.  Washed, Clayed, Polished (Revive) and Americana Paste Wax.  I think Jeep hates detailers BTW....that honeycomb grill is ridiculous....

AND here is the final product after all said and done:

Didn't notice the smushed pecan on the tire until after the pic :D .

Do some looking, the MSRP on my Laramie was $60,300, after rebates and incentives I paid $44,700 + TTL for this one.  I don't know if I could spend $60k on a truck, even though it is arguably the nicest truck out currently.

Yeah MSRP is just that "suggested".  :D I didn't pay anywhere close to the MSRP for my 4x4 RAM Sport.

  3. Hey Bret!  I'm a newbie too and you are definitely in the right spot for expert advice.  I can tell you from my experience so far Ceramic Coating (specifically Ceramic Spray Coating) will be the easiest way to keep that 2019 looking brand new!  I have a 2016 RAM 1500 and you can look at the pics and the steps I took.  Pop up some pics of your ride in the new member check in forum and I'm sure you will start seeing some expert advice rolling your way.

The downfall is that since I got my SK 15, now I need (read want) to get the SK Mini.  I found that going between the chrome roof rails and moon roof was too tight for the SK 15, so I had to do those sections by hand.  I also had a few places on the front that were the same way and the Mini would have been ideal.

That was gonna be my follow up question, which one you had.  I could see where a mini would be useful.  So, SK 15 and Mini....on the list... :D .

I use CPW on my CC vehicles usually once or twice a year.  To my understanding it lengthens the longevity of the CC.  You could def do the same with CSC.

OK.  I'm not sure why, but the thought just hadn't crossed my mind.  I just put the CSC on my truck, and I'm lining up the future care much like Ray is, Wash + Coat and Ceramic boost, maybe H2GG here or there and based on recent forum thoughts, CWW as a drying aid.  I'll have to add some CPW as an inbetweener.

  5. Hey Sarge, I agree,  when i did my CSC i never used any MF towels.  I only used the double soft MF towel on the ceramic boost phase(optional after the coating).

For my actual CSC I used the microfiber block applicator and suede removal towels (recommended here on the forum).  They were cheap and disposable.... especially compared to the actual towels.

Hopefully I'm not confusing your question, but i think the caution is using any applicator, used to add or remove the actual coating process material, again on the paint as it will crystallize and end up scratching any paint.

By the way.... I'm an amateur just like you. 😁

No, they're good to reuse after a wash. It has silica, but not close to the amount of a coating and doesn't cure the same.

Awesome thanks.  I used a double soft towel to wipe the ceramic boost.  Washed immediately after.  I assumed it was different but never thought to get a second opinion to be sure.

Sweet. I think you need to send that RAM down here to Florida and let me help keep it warm for you. It's way too cold in North Dakota. Ha Ha.

Thats a GREAT looking shiny truck. Like I told @stalebreadjr  on his Detailing Write-Ups thread labeled "Full Exterior Detail and Ceramic Spray Coating / RAM 1500", it being a RAM helped.

    Dang skippy Sarge! 😁

Nice job Nate! We gotta keep these goats dazzling the public! Ur truck looks fantastic!

Nice work! You didn’t mention the baggie test after claying. Did anyone explain that test to you? It’s the best way to make sure you got all the contamination out.
Now you’ll have to do an update thread down the road 😉

Thanks man! I seen Adam demonstrate it in a video and that is one of the things that convinced me claying was a necessary step.  But i did not use it during my claying of each panel 😶 I'll "level up"my game when I do the wife's compass.  😁

@stalebreadjr Great Job, Matt. These pictures look even better outside! I think it's a must to have it outside!

By the way, I agree with how you went about your clay step. Detail Spray is just the easiest way to go, and I'm not concerned about it interrupting the coating process as long surface prep is involved.

Also, you have the most up to date Ceramic Boost

Thanks man! This is my daily driver so it will see the sun and rain! I drive a company vehicle to work but all other travels are with this one.   I appreciate u talking through the clay process with me, sometimes I overthink or second guess myself so it's good to get a second opinion.  Also good to know about my CB.  I hear it referenced in videos and on the forum about being the 2.0 and the difference in cleanup.

Matt, by the way, that one shot of the truck while in the garage looking at it from the back to the front with the reflection is a REALLY GREAT shot. The reflection looks so cool. Again, great job.

Thanks Sarge! I couldn't resist the mirror shot.  I put that one on my Instagram and have gotten a few private comments on that shot specifically.

PLEASE don't take it out of the garage. It is way too pretty to chance it getting smudged or something.

It REALLY looks nice. One of the best looking black vehicles I've ever seen. It being a RAM helped put it in that category as well.

    Good Work. Looks NICE.

Ha! I know! I wish i could just keep it in there, but alas it must be presented to the world.  😜Thanks for the compliment though.  I think it turned out nice and I am a Dodge/FCA guy so I agree that it being a RAM puts it over the top! 🐏
