  1. So far as the wash pads go, I have two of each and I find myself using the two regular size pads vice the jumbos. I just find them much easier to control and hang onto.
  2. Hmmmm, how to explain The Chickenburger...... It's one of those places that becomes a local institution. Somewhere you are almost obligated to go to at least a couple times a year. In a city of half a million and only one location, they do alright!! LOL It was opened near the beginning of WWII when the Innes family saw a great opportunity with the tens of thousands of sailors, soldiers and airmen passing through Halifax awaiting transport to the UK. The same family ran it until about three years ago when a local businessman bought it from the Innes'. That caused a HUGE uproar in the local press until he promised that he would not change anything about it. There were lots of offers over the years to franchise the idea, but the Innes' were having nothing to do with it. So basically a family run and owned local business for 71 years, 50's decor, right down to the individual (and still working!!) jukeboxes in each booth. The famous burger itself is just perfectly cooked chunks of chicken, white and dark meat in a steamed bun. No sauces, no spices. Plain. And I never get away from the place without eating 3 or 4, only because I don't want to appear to be a pig.....
  3. You don't keep small bottles of DS and WW with a throw away microfibre in your dash? For shame!!!
  4. LOL!! Hey now...... It's actually kind of amazing how tasty the burger is, it is just chunks of white and dark meat in a steamed bun. I could (and have) easily eat three or four at a sitting.
  5. Trying to figure out how I forgot "The Chickenburger" This drive in place has been in the same location for 71 years now, serving the same chicken burger recipe they sold the opening day. Fantastic 50's styling and food to die for! http://chickenburger.com/main.php
  6. When I am in an area that has one, I make a bee line for the local Fuddrucker's. The best burgers, buns condiments etc anywhere. When I was a brand new Ordinary Seaman 20 years ago, that was my payday gift to myself. http://www.fuddruckers.com/ Around here, there is a chain restaurant called Boston Pizza (nothing to do with Boston......) that serves the most amazing Smokey Mountain Spaghetti and Meatballs. If I ate it as often as I wanted to, I would weigh a good 50 pounds more than I do now! http://www.bostonpizza.com/en/Default.aspx
  7. Now that pizza brings back some memories! When I worked at local gold mine back in the 80's we were all living in camp. For miners living in isolation, food is just about the number one priority (after beer of course). Our cook, Danny Kenny, was a freaking artist in the kitchen. His pizza night was the one day of the week we all looked forward to. The meat on the pizza was at least one inch thick and his sause was so hot that the guys would bring a six pack of beer to the table for two slices of pizza, assuming you could actually finish two slices!
  8. Looks great Bruce! And the Citation? Not hard to tell you are in California, the last one around here rusted to the ground about 10 years ago. Looks in great shape.
  9. Good ones folks! Mine actually happened during Basic Training. As each recruit course went through the training plan, when they got to the 6th week they became the "Duty" platoon. In other words, they are the joe job grunts....LOL Well, I got detailed off to clean the six bys that had just returned from the platoon that had just returned from field exercises, so you can imagine they were not exactly showroom ready when I got to them.... Well I start cleaning them the way dad always taught me (virtually a step by step of how most of us wash our cars now). Well after spending about 30 minutes getting half way through the first truck, the motor pool guys are getting pretty mad at me for taking so long and I have two more trucks to go.... They took over and hit the trucks with the hose and then broke out the stiff bristle floor scrubbing brushes to finish them off. Good thing it was matt finish camo on the trucks! My three hour "Duty" got finished in about 45 minutes. Spent the next two hours slooooooooooooowly making my way back to the platoon barracks.
  10. "A" banning? I did a dozen in one day on a paintball forum I used to mod.....LOL Seriously though, along with great advice and ideas, the main reason I like it here is adult as opposed to "adult" atmosphere. I can come here and KNOW there won't be a post sure to raise my blood pressure....
  11. After the last six days, I am researching how many feet are in a cubit for my ark. On the plus side, I am the only car I see around with incredible water beading.....LOL
  12. Four acres? Pool schmool!!! That means LOTS of garage building space!!!
  13. Yeah, I suppose you have a valid excuse. This time! LOL How is the little un?
  14. Hyundai made the 2.0 Turbo with the tuner in mind (witness the guy in Nevada making 520+ hp on race gas, 470+ on pump gas......) so we don't get the covers. Still, I think it came out pretty good. There is about 6000 km in four months on the engine bay in this pic. Notning I can do about the rust prtectant though.
  15. So that is what happened to the spray nozzle on my bottle.......LOL
  16. Thanks Ryan! Will keep an eye out for the update.
  17. Did that three or four times. Same result. Decommissioned. Wierd.
  18. This down for the BB? It keeps telling me that this version has been decommissioned and to update it at tapatalk. The only version available there is the decommissioned one. Anyone else getting that?
  19. Ryan, Paul and Ryan ALL seem to have gotten the better ends of those deals! Great pics!
