  1. My guess is that it just took the shine/sheen from the LC and removed it. If you repeated touch something with LC on it with your hands it has the same effect, it just wears it away faster. I'd agree with the others. Just reapply the LC.
  2. I'd think anything would eventually make it wear off. Even a hand full of washes would probably take it off, Sharpie isn't permanent. You can actually rub sharpie off with your finger.
  3. Dan is this something thats going to be put in the works?
  4. http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/27546-pro-tip-dilution-ratios/ People do it. 64:1 Ratio. See the post above for more details.
  5. Same thoughts. No matter how smooth glass feels, once it gets out into the world and hit by dust and dirt at 60 mph, I would think it would be jagged. We can find out! I have a digital microscope I can use to look at my windshield at 100-200x.
  6. Towels do have a life span. My Single Softs lasted quite sometime before they began linting and getting the boot to a house cleaning towel.
  7. How I miss the Detail Something Different Contest....
  8. To me this looks like you're not getting all of the APC out. Try a power washer. You can see the white bubbles on the screws.
  9. Normal recommendation around here has been Tarminator and at $5 a can, there is probably little chance that many companies would try to make a competitor. It's extremely cheap and works very well, so it would be hard to go up against.
  10. Post pictures. Sounds like it will need to be repainted properly.
  11. If you don't have any luck here with it, there are some Facebook groups where Polishers seem to go really fast.
  12. If you want to remove the sealant and do your own correction, clay the entire truck and do a wipe down with 50/50 IPA. It will remove whatever they put on there.
  13. The GSM is the main difference which means some are softer than others. Typically the higher the GSM the softer the towel. GSM = Grams Per Square Meter
  14. Had similar issues with the Flex. My advise, use the factory backing plate, after market plates get bad reviews and tend to fail easily. The amount of power a Flex has with the forced rotation makes it harder to control, go slow and be sure to hold on but not too tight. If you white knuckle it your hands will hurt and your arms will get sore faster. I was able to get good results and finish full details without getting worn out as much with the Flex over time. However I ended up buying a Rupes DA and it is my go to polisher for everything. I only break out the Flex when a panel or vehicle is completely trashed and needs the extra strength or when fixing deeper scratches/swirls. There are no tricks or anything like that, just takes time to get used to. I also recommend NOT using full flat faced pad, they seemed to be more prone to wobbling.
  15. I agree with James. Some are better when used in tandem with another product. I always top my sealant with Patriot.
  16. I'd put HGG above Buttery Wax at #3. It gets a really good shine. Maybe it's because I'm not a fan of Liquid Waxes though.
  17. I'm with everyone else. Skip Step 6. Also the tires are probably dry especially after hitting them with full strength APC, so they will just soak up the Tire Shine. If this happens then reapply it until it 1-2 more times. I applied Tire Shine last Friday night and it's still shiny today, even after driving 150 miles (mainly down some dusty country roads).
  18. I have about 20 blue ones. They are my go to for Rinseless Wash. Really like them. Even found some gray ones that I use for removing polish. I use double softs for LSP's though (and the last pass of polish), that way it doesn't screw up the paint correction.
  19. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-Drill-Driver-Impact-Driver-Combo-Kit-2-Tool-2691-22/100650378 Can never go wrong having a drill and an impact. Love all of my Milwaukee stuff. Best warranty I could find too. 2 Year on batteries, 5 year on tool.
  20. I used other MF pads on Diamond Plate before with Adam's Metal Polish #1 and #2. Worked pretty well I thought. I dont know about getting scratches out though but it'll shine it up. Depends on how deep the scratch is and if the tip is clear coated or not.
  21. This setup has since changed, I moved my pads to a new tool chest I got but I still keep everything in the cabinets except for gallons. They are Gladiator 30" Cabinets. Paid $150 for both of them when they were on sale at Sears on Black Friday.
