  1. Revive Hand Polish is considered a "Pre Wax" Cleaner. Use that and follow up with buttery wax if thats what you are looking for. Cleaner Wax seems like something that was invented by big box stores, pretty much "combining" two products into one in the name that really just does the same thing as one product. When was the last time you used a "Cleaner" Wax and noticed your paint looked different that just using a straight Wax. Try buttery wax side by side with a "cleaner wax" and you won't notice the difference. Tip: Use a sealant before the wax for better protection.
  2. Easier way to think about it... For every 4oz of water add 1oz of product. Roughly 20oz of water and 5oz of product.
  3. Back story could be wrong on the Griots side but from what I understand Griots was made by a rich guy ti sell and is generally geared more toward making money and not the quality point of view. Adam's was obviously made by Adam from the ground up and is more focused on ease of use (and that it works) as well as customer service.
  4. The Forum discount when you joined is always active for 10% off.
  5. If it really flooded bad then the sound dampening material under the carpet is/was probably wet as well and that might be where your smell is coming from. Maybe type to clean with some type of extractor and carpet cleaner.
  6. After every wash. No water is pure and paint never stays clean. The minute you rinse your car there is dust on it again. The minute you wipe it off more dust. All of that adds up and gets collected into the towel. Not to mention whatever is in your water. Water spots come from impurity in the water and that all gets gunked up into the towel too. Also if you use a drying agent like diluted Rinseless, Waterless Wash or Detail Spray that all gets into the towel as well. I know when I use Rinseless to help dry I don't see it on the towel but if the towel dries before I wash it, it has blue spots on it. Every wash. Microfiber holds everything (because its designed to).
  7. Phil, this (and the original) shows up in numerous places on the forum. No need to spam it to get more people to look at it. If its a topic people are interested in then they will find it one way or another. Both of these threads are on the Recent Threads on the main forum pages. It's only been a day be patient, more people will reply.
  8. Every wash. Probably the dirtiest thing on any vehicle. Not to mention how much crap any tire dressing will collect because stuff sticks to it. Lightly watered down APC and a scrub brush for normal cleaning. Straight APC for harder caked on stuff. For the extremely stubborn I use something else.
  9. The only Blue Yellow and Red are the only ones that are the same. I have Blue for Polish and Red for wax. very similar to the way I use my towels. The Blue and Orange have different cuts because the Orange is supposed to be more aggressive (unless this has changed and no announcement was ever made).
  10. I guess what I'm trying to say is you don't need a towel for just Buttery Wax and just paint sealant and just Americana. As long as you wash them you can use them with any wax or LSP. I separate mine by use (not product) and I'm sure many other people do too. Every type of towel can be used with multiple products. There is no need to dedicate 1 towel to 1 product when it can be used with multiple.
  11. You would have to buy WAY more towels then actually needed for this.
  12. Ones longer than the other... lol But seriously that seems to be the only difference. One might need the long head to polish underneath a spoiler or something like that.
  13. Send her over to our house. She will then see how normal that is and believe you send her to see a crazy person.
  14. Sounds like you need to find a better body shop. One that actually cares about the work they do.
  15. You can request a SDS (formally MSDS) for the product, maybe you are allergic to something used in the new version. The SDS will tell you what to do if you got it in your eye. My guess if your eye was that bad is that you are allergic to something in it.
  16. And thats why I always say Paint Sealant lasts 3-6 months. Total depends on the user and weather conditions.
  17. If it streaks on the paint put some DS on a Double Soft and wipe it off and then flip it to a dry side and polish it clean. Direct sunlight will cause problems with almost any product because the heat causes it to start to dry on the paint.
  18. 30-90 days is pretty typical. Best bet is to ask the body shop. No one will know the products used better than the people who used them.
  19. Dump a jug of water in the bucket and get a sharpie. But seriously, water weighs 8.345lbs per gallon. Weigh the jug then weigh it with water in it if you do this and you'll get almost exact measurements.
  20. Correct! Factory paint gets baked on. Most Body Shops do not bake their paint but some do. We have over 15 body shops around where I live and only 1 has an oven to do this.
  21. Paint Sealant works best and lasts longest when applied to bare paint.
  22. Best results with Paint Sealant, I'd seal first before applying anything else after Polishing. http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/27879-question-about-sealingglazingwaxing/?hl=layering http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/26490-layering/?hl=layering http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/25798-brilliant-glaze-when-to-use/?hl=layering
