  1. Rob, I just debadged my G8 and I think the key for me was to reheat the black sticky stuff after getting the metal part off. I was able to peel the stuff off with my flat part of my finger. When I had everything off but a little spot here and there, then I was able to use the goo gone to soften and kept wiping it until I just had some ghosting left on the paint. That's when the old SHR and FMP came in. I hope you have luck in getting it off, but for me it was the combination of heat and goo gone.
  2. This is a great forum to learn from the experts. When I told my brother that I did it and sent him pictures he told me he is too afraid to do it to his new Charger. I told him to check out this thread and it would work. We have some very unselfish guys here that are willing to teach us amateurs. Thanks to all of you.
  3. I just took the badges off the trunk of my new G8 this past weekend after reading this thread. I decided to spray some Goo Gone on the back side of the badge first and then heated up with a hair dryer. Once it got real soft I pulled off the badge and pried easily with a plastic tool. It left the black sticky stuff that I reheated and rolled off. I then cleaned it up with Goo Gone, hit it with the swirl and haze remover and fine machine polish with the buffer. Last step was some super wax and man does it look nice. I love it and no more working around the letters when I wax. I really don't care if the guy that I just beat knows what type of car beat him. LOL
  4. As the time gets closer to April 25, it would be great to see a list of who all intends to be there. I would like to do a little research on all of these great detailers to see who it is I will be meeting. Us old folks with CRS don't do too well remembering things without some cheat sheets. I always tell everyone that my CRS is so bad that I write myself a note and then forget where I put the note. I am really looking forward to meeting everyone and learning more from the master. I want to see about the new products as well. Those pictures of Ray's showroom are unbelievable. He looks like he has as much stock as Adam!
  5. I can honestly say the I used Griots for all of my needs on my 32 before I found out about Adams. I will tell you from personal experience that there is a world of difference between Best of Show Wax (Griots) and Buttery Wax or the new Machine SuperWax. I actually had to call Griots to find out how to get there wax off! They say I used too much, but I had to wet it to get it off. I have NEVER found a wax that works so well and is so easy to get off as Adams. I am not so sure about all of the "other stuff" sold at Griots, because I never bought it because it also seemed way over priced. Just keep giving us the great US made products for keeping our cars shining Adam. I plan on finding out about the dual purpose stuff this weekend when I try the tip of using Swirl and Haze remover on my wifes 10 year old Intrigue headlight lenses this weekend.
  6. Adam, will you have some of the new Metal Polish in Pa for the April 25 clinic? If so I can wait until then and use up what I have. I have found that if the polished aluminum is in really good shape that I only needed to do the one step of Metal Polish. I've tried to keep the rims and engine parts clean enough that even during the winter I don't have to do the two step process. I will be interested to see how the new polish compares to the old.
  7. Hey Kevin, keep the nice weather for next week too....I have to fly to St.Louis on Monday for business. It was -2 degrees here in the Cleveland area this morning. The Vette looks marvelous! I usually can't get my 32 out until at least mid to late April here. Of course that is after I get it back together. Here's a normal pic of the 32 during the winter.
  8. This is a great thread with everybody showing off their families. I am at the other end of the spectrum with our kids being older. I look forward to being able to show off some grandkid pictures someday. Our family grew last summer with our new son-in-law. Here are a few pics that I treasure. The first is my wife Robin and I last October celebrating our 30th anniversary. She is the light of my life. Our son Shaun and Stacy are in the second picture and then Nico the dog. The funny story with my daughter modeling is when she went to a high school dance and wanted a picture by my red 32 Ford because her dress was red. I told her she had to act like a model and this was the picture that I snapped. I loved it! We are all blessed with family to share our lives with.
  9. Adam we have been reading about the paste wax, but can you tell us more about it? One of the greatest features about your products is the ease of taking them off. I love the newest machine wax and just did the new G8. Will the paste be as easy to take off? Pros and Cons with not using with PC?
  10. It does beg the question though could an order status be added to our User CP or somewhere else? Most of us that have small orders would just like to know that the order is in house and being filled and when it might be shipped. It probably takes 4 days to get our ground shipments in the midwest. Just a thought.
  11. Great Info Adam. So since you brought up the bag, how's the development of the new one coming along? I would love to pick up my new bag in PA April 25!!!!
  12. Hey Bruce don't feel bad. My kids are 28 and 23 now! They were both fish and loved the pool in our development while growing up. My wife and I are still waiting for our parents album from the wedding. We have a nice picture of my wife Robin and I coming in the album that I will post someday. It's nice to see all of you raising those youngsters. I always tell everyone at work that the headaches just get bigger and more expensive as they grow up. LOL It is amazing how quickly the time passes though. Enjoy them now and take lots of video and pics. We had a tradition that we took a picture of the kids individually by the front door their first day of school. It is a lot of fun to go back and look at the changes from year to year.
  13. Scott, GREAT PICS! The value of those cars is worth more than Ohio. LOL I can attest to being a little nervous around the general public though at these shows. Last summer I yelled a woman who let her kids stand on my running boards!!! It took some serious Adams products trying to get the scratches out of that one. I sure wish we could have some of that weather too.
  14. I love this thread. All of you have hit on great things. I loved Rich's story of perseverance with his son and Steve you hit it exactly with kids and the wife. My wife Robin and I celebrated our 30th anniversary last October and finally went on a two day excursion to the Poconos for the first time we had ever gone anywhere for our anniversary including no honeymoon. I can't imagine how empty my life would be without her. When I was layed off 5 years ago she went out and got a job at Lowes after not working for 24 years and never complained about it. I can't imagine anyone putting up with me like she has. She talked me into buying the 32 and not waiting for our daughter to finish college. I had the great honor of walking my daughter down the aisle last June and it is a memory that will go with me to the grave. Our son is still trying to figure out things in life at 28 but we are hoping the light is going on now. Unfortunately I lost my Father 3 years ago and he was my best friend. I agree with Adam about the state of mind. This family on this forum is great. I look forward to reading this forum everyday.
  15. Man this deal keeps getting better! A free clinic from the master and now a treat to dinner.....too good to pass up. Now if my boss will just keep me in the country on that weekend, I am all set to enjoy some excellent company.
  16. Looking forward to meeting some of the hard core Adams crowd!
  17. Don't forget the Midwest like Pa, Ohio and Michigan!!! We have bad weather too!
  18. Everyone is assuming that they are not clear coated. I love the results and there won't be any of the scratches that some of the other abrasive polishes have in them. My wheels and polished engine parts on the 32 are done with Adams Metal Polish and I love the results.
  19. Adam, I always repeat to vendors and our customers that we are all human and make mistakes. It is how you rectify the mistake that sets you apart from everyone else. I haven't heard one person complain about the customer service we get from Adams. I don't think there is another company that I have EVER dealt with that is as responsive and nice as this one. Not only do you respond to emails on Sundays, but when have called Jason or Ashley, they have made me feel like I was their biggest customer. GREAT job Adams and keep up the great work.
  20. 2 cars plastic including the new G8. So when are we going to see the polish from Adams since the reference to the other thread was fall of last year? I need to take care of my wife's 11 year old Intrigue headlights and I was going to buy new, but I will try the clay, swirl&haze remover and then polish.
  21. Very nice Chris and Gary. I wish I could stay that organized!
  22. Adam, I am sure that the G8 will like the exercise. I will flag that day and keep it open. I don't have any trips planned for work so far that late in April. Look forward to meeting you. Let me know your plans of when you get in town and when you leave. I assume that you will be flying into Pitts. Maybe we can include a lunch or dinner to chat. I am sure that you are very busy during your clinics.
  23. Adam, I will look to see if I can find a calendar that lists where you will be and what dates in my area. I am a "supposed" electrical engineer but have loved cars since I can remember. I guess taking care of them goes way back to helping my Dad keep the family station wagon in good shape especially after I could drive. I loved the 327 V8 in it and still love the V8's. I helped a guy race SCCA for 10 years and always wanted to watch the GT1 boys with the V8's. I had two V8 Vegas years ago, one was a 215cu in all aluminum made in the early 60's and a Corvette 327 from the mid 60's. Now it's the 32 with the 350 cu in and the newest toy the G8. God I love that 361 HP in the G8. My brother will still stomp me with his Charger and the big Hemi, but it sure is nice to have some giddy up. The Grand Prix was great for me with all of those miles, but people couldn't believe the paint was original, in most spots anyway. The shine was always amazing thanks to your products. I hope to meet you face to face this summer sometime. Looking forward to sunshine and warm temps again.
