  1. I suppose it's part of the growing pains of expanding as a company, but I've noticed that a lot of products seem to be out of stock a lot more than they were a few years ago. There was a period for awhile where you couldn't even buy a gallon of Car Shampoo, which is the most basic product for washing your car. It doesn't matter how good the products are if they aren't in stock.

  2. Is there a 120v option? I dont have 220 available

You probably don't have a 50 Hz power system in your house either. ;) I think Adam just inadvertently copied the stats from the export version of the Cyclo instead of the domestic version. Cyclo's website shows the 115V version: http://cyclotoolmakers.com/Model_5Pro.php Same stats, just setup for the 115V/60Hz that we have here instead of the 220V/50V which is commonly found in Europe and other parts of the world.

  3. Here we go!

Current starting lineup @ Adam's Polishes:

    Adam - El Jefe

Ashley - Wholesale and Customer Service

    Bianca - Customer Service

    Chris (Flaco) - Warehouse Wizard

    Christian - Chief Financial Officer

    Jean - Warehouse Wizard #2

Matt - Social Media, Website, Special Events, Sales, Customer Service

Nick - Forums (this one and all other sponsored ones), Sales, Customer Service

    Scott - Supply Chain Manager

Give me a bit to work on pictures of everyone. :)

Is Mook supposed to be on that list or did I miss him leaving too?

  4. I haven't been on the forum for awhile because I was out to sea, but I never expected to see this when I got home.  It was Dylan's presence on the GRRRR8.net forum and then here that initially drew me towards Adam's products.  Thanks for the help over the years, Dylan.  Even though we've never met or even talked on the phone you were always my go-to person via email or PM.  Good luck with whatever path you choose next.

  5. This is the exact position I find myself in.  I do a fair amount of wrenching in my garage so I see the value in high quality tools, but I don't do it for a living.  That's the only way I could justify buying the truck brands.

I've bought a lot of used Snap-on off of eBay.  You have to look around and often have to play the bidding game but sometimes you can find great deals.  Of course this doesn't help when you need a tool for the project you're working on.  That's where Sears used to be great because you could just walk in and buy it off the shelf.

  6. That isn't going to happen either.  Can't see a drone doing 300+ stops and 500 pieces like I'am seeing this Christmas.  The off season I do between 200 and 260 by myself and 350 pieces.

Oh I agree with you, I probably should've added a sarcasm smiley to my post. :)   I think Amazon is being a little too ambitious with that project and hasn't thought of the many common sense real-world problems that will arise with delivery drones.

But back on topic, I agree with Rich.  My dad is a truck mechanic and uses Snap-on and other "truck brands" at work, but he always swore by Craftsman for a home set of tools.  I always loved going to Sears just to browse the tool section.  I usually still do whenever I'm there, but now it's just sad seeing all the imported tools.  Now I've started looking to other brands whenever I need a new tool.

  7. The last time I was in Sears I picked up some combination wrenches because I wanted to complete my metric collection in the larger sizes before the store was all out of the US made stock.  Once you see the US and Chinese made wrenches side-by-side it's impossible to confuse the two.  The open end of the Chinese version is like a huge lobster claw, presumably larger to make up for lower quality steel.  Here are someone else's pics from another forum that show this clearly:

My biggest concern is if my US made tools ever fail, now I'll probably get the Chinese junk as a warranty replacement.

I remember when Craftsman used to advertise this:

    Craftsman-2008-All-Sockets-Wrenches-Made

I suppose bigger profit margins are more important than pride nowadays.

  8. but on the flip side I can't help but think of how many kids and bystanders probably got killed or had their lives ruined after street racing incidents inspired by the fast and furious movies. In a way it's poetic justice.

And on the flip side of that, how many people have watched the Fast and Furious movies and haven't been involved in street racing because they're responsible people and can distinguish between fiction and reality?

  9. Great review.  I'm looking forward to trying this stuff out.

As for the question I had mentioned, Adam’s doesn’t recommend using it as a clay lube or quick detailer, and there’s really no need to with how well the Quick Detail Spray works already, so a non-issue entirely.

As far as clay lube, it's a pretty significant financial issue.  It's not uncommon to go through an entire 16 oz bottle of clay lube in a session and the difference between $45/gal Detail Spray and a $1/gal diluted rinseless solution isn't negligible.  I love using Detail Spray when drying and as a quick detailer because of the extra shine it leaves behind, but as a clay lube it seems a waste.
