  1. Let me first say I am a fan boi for a while.  As seen by the tag under my name.

I must say though, someone needs to work on the web site.  I just spent a few minutes trying to find the ceramic trim coating and you'd think it would be under, exterior.  But nope.  I checked in other, and nope.    I had to actually search for it at which time, I found it.

That leads me to something else, which is the in and out spray.  I was looking for that to link to my cousin, who I finally converted with the help of a certain youtuber and I can't find it.  I'm wondering if it's no longer available, or if the web site is just not showing it.

Can you guys get someone to fix the site so EVERYTHING shows up in it's place without having to actually search for things?

  2. So I got my memorial day products on Friday and I did an outside detail on my Jeep and the wife's Benz yesterday.  She ended up leaving and it was hotter than hell do I didn't get to fix her roof until today but I did so with some new, some old products and my porter cable.

So this is what the panels alone side the glass roof looked like.  Total oxidation.

I taped off the area and used, yep, some old school swirl and haze removed that I've had since about 2010 and an orange Gen2 pad..   This is after just that.

After that I did use some of the new white paint finish and a gen 5 pad to clean things up.   Then I cleaned up all the rubber around the panels with APC and WC and then applied some paint sealant.   The results here.   Unfortunately I forgot to get photos of the completely finished product after I applied VRT to the trim and then wiped everything clean.

  3. Oh, I buy that by the gallon.

    Undercarriage

    All purpose.

    H2O

    Detail spray

    Glass cleaner (x2)

    shampoo

    Wheel cleaner.

All of the above you might as well buy gallons.   After that, depending on how you detail you might need some others like the interior detailer, or rinseless...but I'd say those above are the basics.

  4. I say go for it.  It's good to see someone wanting to go and work for their money instead of expecting it.

    Go door to door.

Have a "menu" of sorts that describes not only what you will do but prices for additions such as wax/sealant, interior detail, etc.

Dont' get discouraged if some people say no.  Some might prefer to do it themselves.  But if you get a couple done word of mouth can spread quicker than you think in bad and good situations.

  5. Ok well I used the attachment to wash my wife's C class today.   Not a large car by any means, but it took 2 1/2 of those little containers of car shampoo to soap it all up.  I did not dilute it at all as the container is quite small and I wanted to see how it worked with just the shampoo.   I might try diluting it a bit next time but doing so might not give enough suds.

Overall though it does give the desired result, however I'm still going to purchase a real power washer when I have the money.  Not just for the cars but I also clean the sidewalks twice a year as well and it will make that much easier too.

  6. I'm going to resurrect this one more time.

because I recently just purchased this.

I haven't tried it yet as I just painted my rock sliders and now of course it's raining cats and dogs, but I will try it tomorrow.  I'll post some photos and give an update.

I'd really like a gas powered true washer but I already have this electric one plus actually a second one someone gave me so until I find some extra cash I don't have the $300 to buy a real one.

  7.

    One draw back.

You have to keep a hold of the polisher all the time, as the cord/polisher is now connected to your person. I found that more awkward than re-positioning the cord over my shoulder when it'd drop off.

    ^ this.

I don't want the cord attached to me in any way.  I know I'll forget it's connected at least 5 times while detailing one vehicle, yanking it off the cart, dragging it on the pavement.

Just throw it over your shoulder, I've really never had any issues doing it that way.

  8. I've collected a few of the special color towels over the years like last year's halloween versions and I still have some blue ones as well as grey.    But is there any way to maybe have 3 or 4 choices on colors of the plush MF towels?

I like the white for the paint because you can see if there's anything on the towel before causing scratches but it would be nice to have some different colors so you can use them for different things like wiping down dirty areas under the hood, or for knocking down tire shine, etc.   Right now that's exactly what I do but my blue ones are running out and I only have 3 of the orange.

  9. I was watching a few videos of detailers on youtube and one thing that was nice was you got to see the procedure from start to finish.   Bad part was that in order to keep the video shortish they didn't go into as much detail as the Adams videos do.

So, could you guys maybe do a video series where you detail different cars.  Sports car, offroad truck, maybe even an exotic...  But show the entire detail from start to end.  Break it up by parts if you need to in order to create shorter videos but I think we'd benefit from seeing the entire process on the same car.

  10. I would not use the brush to apply Tire Shine to the entire tire, only the shoulder blocks that are difficult to dress (this takes under 30 seconds per tire).  The rest of the tire should still be dressed by spraying and leveling with a microfiber or foam block.

There is absolutely zero possibility of you doing the lugs in under 30 seconds.  Hell, watch the video that you posted,  he spent more than 30 seconds just on 1/5 of that one tire.  haha.

  11. I'm not sure if I need the brush, but I did just toss a MF block that I'm going to pull back out of the can and use for my tires.  The will fix one of my biggest complaints which is the foam shredding.

The brush is nice but not only will it take me forever but I think it will result in a shiny finish.   I'm going to try the above video with my VRT and water mix.   Next order I place will have some tire shine in it and I'll give that a try.

  12. I vote for something like this but in a simple spray.

I have mud terrain tires that are a bitch to get into the lugs (on the side) with a sponge so a lot of the times I use the old school approach of VRT mixed with water but unless you knock it down with a sponge or towel it leaves it too shiny for my taste.

I'd love to see a flat or almost flat look in a spray.

And yeah, like others have said, the aerosols are a government nightmare.  In and out spray was gone for a long time due to that.

  13. This makes me want to go back to Yellowstone again. One of my favorite places in the United States.

I wish I didn't leave.   I drove down to Moab after Yellowstone to see Arches and Canyon lands.  Holy crap the city was PACKED.   I ended up coming home early, but I'd love to go back to yellowstone for another week or so.
