Well I just finished with an exterior detail of my challenger - the first for this car, and also my first experience with the PC. My advice: do NOT use the handle to hold on to the machine. By the end of the first panel with all the vibrations I couldn't feel my fingertips. I was impressed with how easy the machine was to use, but I was also disappointed because there were a bunch of surface scratches that didn't come out. It's also quite possible that I didn't do something right but I don't know. I took a bunch of before pictures, and the next two days will be snowing here in NY so the after pictures may have to wait a few days. But here is a preview: Before: After: And many many more to come within the next few days as long as I get a break in the weather.

I'm about to use my PC for the first time today, and yeah I have the PC virgin jitters as well! Wish me luck!

I saw pics of the production model interior - its gross as hell. I'll try to find where I saw them later and post em up.

UPDATE: Thankfully my local friendly UPS driver is not a thief, but an idiot lol. I get a call from a neighbor down the block from me that she looked outside her door this morning and saw it there on the ground. What's weird is that the addresses aren't really similar so idk what he was smokin'. Anyway, all is well again and I aim to give my car a much needed detail this weekend! My thanks to Ashley for helping me out!

So I'm supposed to recieve my order of 2nd gen pads and machine polishes today. I ordered my porter cable 7424 and was just waiting for this latest shipment to come in so I can give my challenger its first detail this weekend. In a perfect world, my shipment would have arrived with no incident. This, however, is not a perfect world. I get home to see nothing waiting for me at the door. Ok, maybe the guy is a little late today. So I check my email to track the package. Much to my surprise, the package was delivered 20 minutes before I got home. Fortunately, I have a bunch of security camera's (my dad's business) surrounding the house and I went to the tapes. Wouldn't ya know it - the son of a bitch never showed up! So some UPS man says he delivered the package and instead stole my damn order. I can't believe the sheer balls some people have. Fortunately, I have Ashley on my side and I hope she nails this prick to the wall. Looks like I won't be detailing this weekend after all!

You can try armoral (don't ban me please!). I had some white stains from wax on my license plate frame and armorall got rid of it - temporarily. It's worth a shot if you have the stuff.

I agree, a few hundred pounds lighter and that 6.1L HEMI would be even more nuts. But hey, she's still a blast to drive.

At the time I had a Dodge Charger and was (and still am) a member of chargerforums.com and one day some guy (who I know now is Richie Carbone on these forums) posted a picture of his freshly detailed black charger srt-8. When I saw the shine on this car I was hooked and immediately bought the essentials and tried it for myself. Been addicted ever since.

What speed are you using now? I'm about to order my porter cable and machine stuff and haven't a clue what speed I should be using.

I just used both in my interior last night, didn't have anything other than dust in the interior so I can't say how it works against dirt and such but my interior is nice and clean. I like the stuff.

Already got em both! I was just mainly concerned that I needed something else with the 7424, I've read something about adaptors here and there on the forums.

About to place an order for the porter cable 7424, the 2nd gen pads with backing plate, and machine polish/super wax. Is there anything else I need or does this cover it all? P.S. I already have swirl and haze remover and all that stuff.

I used the california duster on my charger and I don't think I got surface scratches. Idiot that I am used a brush to wash it so that did the paint nicely. But here's something to ponder, you say that cal dusters just push around dust - but if u detail spray and wipe with the microfiber towel, you're doing the same exact thing - except its moist lol
