  1. My wife has tried a few different sets of in ear and over ear listening devices. She hates the in ear canal devices as they all have caused discomfort. I bought her a pair of the new Apple ear pods and she loves them, she keeps thanking me for them every couple days. I've tried them too and they are the most comfortable I have ever used, I forget that I have anything in my ears. Will be ordering a set to me to use too! The audio performance is really good for $30, best overall frequency response for anything close to the same price that I have heard. Of course, for extra money (more than triple the price) you will find a better sound but I have never felt a more comfortable fit for an ear bud style that stays in place without feeling like a pain in the ear.
  2. I agree these aren't cheap, but a quality non-kink hose is never cheap. In the past 20 years I have only bought hoses twice due to buying a high quality hose. If I needed a hose now, I would definitely buy one of these.
  3. As usual - great job, great write up and awesome car!
  4. John does some great work! And also posts write ups too! He had pics and write up on those particular cars in these threads 1967 Chevelle SS Detail 2010 Corvette ZR1 Detail
  5. That is freakin awesome!!
  6. This all depends on your budget. Generally buy a kit, they are great way of getting items for specific purposes. If you can afford it, the ultimate kits are a great way to go! When I started with Adam's I thought my car looked good, but wasn't happy with the wheels, so I got the tire and wheel kit (or whatever it is called). Then later when my Bride bought me a large kit and I had everything to work with... I finally realized how much better the car could look!
  7. Welcome to the forum! The strip wash will take off the wax, a couple ozs of All Purpose Cleaner in the wash bucket will be an effective strip wash. Or you could use IPA (isopropyl alcohol) to wipe down the car to remove the wax. Some people will use Dawn dish detergent but that seems to have some negative effects on some plastics over time.
  8. :iagree: You only have 1.5 yrs and then look at how much money you can save towards a future car or house!
  9. I don't do much engine work but when doing any mechanical work I will first wash the car and then use clean dry great white towels to cover the car panel I will be bumping into or possibly leaning against.
  10. I agree with mc2hill, if I had to only have one or the other, it would be the woolies. Much more versatile and as a result they get used in almost every wash. I only end up using the turbo stick 2 or three times a year.
  11. I admit, when I first read the thread I thought this was ridiculous. I grew up with dairy goats and thought how could a goat bleating make someone laugh that hard... then I listened to it and held a smile in... listened again and then smiled... listened again and then started laughing... the more you watch it the funnier it gets!
  12. Welcome to the forum! Great to see another member from Tampa area and a Vette owner too!
  13. Wow, you have had a lot going on! For your Hawaii trip, if you do a helicopter ride and if you like photography, then I would recommend that you do one of the helicopter rides withOUT doors. The plexi-glass on the doors adds glare to just about every shot and ruins the pics (even if you use a polarizer).
  14. Over a year or so I've tried to wash the towels in different groupings and have finally settled on: 1) Glass towels - always wash by hand in the sink, the towels will avoid picking up any lint this way, will smooth out by hand on the counter and then hang to dry on a rack 2) Utility towels - will usually wash by hand in the sink but if I have enough will run a load just for them, will hang to dry on a rack 3) Everything else goes together in the washer (great white, waterless wash, single soft, double soft), dry most of the way in the dryer and then hang to finish dry on a rack

    Sooo expensive!

Expensive? Like others have said here it all depends on the perspective. I am in your same area and our daily driver car also sits outside all the time. It is a Kona Blue Mazda 6 - Ugh!! I think it is as bad or even worse than keeping a black car looking nice. I was lucky in this detailing stuff, my Bride saw me having fun with this and learning so for Father's day last year bought me the big PC kit so I had a little bit of everything! Now it is just buying any new products and just refills. Once you have what you need it isn't near as expensive to maintain. This is my therapy, my stress melts away when I am out in the driveway or garage detailing cars, just wish I could use my FSA card at Adam's!! It does benefit my health!
  16. My daily driver still gets the haze/film on the windows, requiring cleaning once a month, and the car is now over 3 years old!
  17. These are my favorite towels too. I will also use the double soft towels when using the PC for buffing/removing wax or sealant, but when not using a machine for this purpose (most of the time) I will use the single soft towels. If working on a car that is particularly dirty I will also use the utility towel for door jambs, engine compartments and wheels (instead of using a blue waffle weave/waterless wash towels).
  18. Glad you like it and that you were able to get a feel for each of them before making your purchase! We love our Canon for some of the same reasons you mentioned above.
  19. Thanks Adam for sharing that information! One item to consider in whether to raise prices 5-8% in order to have a flat rate charge is what is the overall distribution strategy. Is Adam's going to focus on having direct consumer sales that are placed directly through corporate headquarters? Or is strategy going to be focused on in person/show sales or dealer sales? If prices are raised 5-8% then when purchases are made in person at a show, from a dealer or directly from Adam's HQ then the price would be inflated by that 5-8% despite the fact that shipping is not needed. If Adam's raises prices 5-8% then they are betting on direct internet sales to consumers and, unless they change pricing for dealers, will potentially slow down dealer/network growth. If Adam's didn't pass the 5-8% increase along to the dealers than dealers would have better margins to work with which could enhance the opportunity for the dealer to grow. Just some random thoughts on the subject.
  20. This is Adam's forums, this is paid for and run by Adam's and as part of their strategy has implemented this forum as an extension of their product support and customer service. This isn't a publicly funded forum where anyone can say whatever they want. We abide by the house rules. Thanks Adam's for having a great company and the best product support and customer service that I have experienced!
