  1. A great example of Adam's Polishes attention to customer satisfaction and constant product improvement. I like both the old and new brushes and see the benefits of both. As a result I now use both of them for differing purposes.
  2. I didn't like the new one when it first came out, but forced myself to use it. After getting used to it there are advantages to the new one; no metal ring and smaller size works better for normal car sized lug nuts. I still have the old wood handle unit and it is now dedicated to dry/interior use now and I feel the bristles on the old unit are slightly softer. Dave
  3. Ordered two of them today, will wait for them to arrive. Didn't want to have to stand in lines.
  4. I agree, love how all our data and information can be setup to automatically appear on all the different devices and the consistency of the user interface across the various device formats. Still using the 4, been holding out but am now going to move on this...I think. Totally agree! My daughter has a galaxy S3 unit and I love to tease her about the size of the screen. Too large for me, don't want to lug around a phone that large, more prone to breakage and too clumsy feeling. If I want a larger screen I use a full size tablet or a laptop, depending on the task and application needed.
  5. Traditionally I have loved gadgets but over the past few years have stopped trying to stay up with the latest. Now I skip at least one generation or two before upgrading. I have an iPhone 4 and my wife has an iPhone 4S, been eligible for upgrades for some time but have been waiting for a compelling reason to upgrade. The 5S is now on our list. We don't want to jail break our phones or "root" them, just want a phone that works, has good call quality (yes I am old fashioned, I actually talk on my phone!) and is VERY reliable. The iPhones have worked great for us. Been rock solid with zero complaints. Love the fact that new iOS updates are available for many generations back. And I must be an anomaly in that I like iCloud and the integration across our devices (2 iPhones, 2 iPads and a Mac Book Pro)
  6. Two things: 1) I don't like the sun/heat. Around the beginning of the year my neighbor across the street cut down his humongous oak tree that shaded my house and driveway every morning... Made detailing very nice until around 11:00 or 11:30 on Saturday mornings. Now the blazing hot sun hits me by 7:30 or 8:00 am... And as a result I haven't done much detailing for the past 6 months. And when I do a have some therapy time it is in the evening after the shade has been on the car long enough that the paint isn't 150 degrees, unfortunately the blood sucking mosquitoes are then starting to come out for dinner. Sigh... I need to put A/C in the garage ... Also need a larger garage so I can have more than one car in there. 2) Water restrictions - water restrictions kicked in again this year and am assigned one day a week where I can water the lawn and/or wash the cars. Unfortunately my day is not on a weekend and this coupled with my work schedule and the mosquitoes I have really slacked off this year... Now that water restrictions have lifted and temps are due to start cooling to something less than 90 degrees in another month I am looking forward to getting some therapy time.
  7. Very cool! Can't wait to see the full video and also waiting to see the car in person too!
  8. I have been known to do this too On one rental a few months ago, after washing it the white paint has visible spots of iron. So I used it as a test for me in using DWC to decontaminate the paint. Loved the results and posted a few pics here. Nothing wrong with wanting to clean up a rental, after all, your reputation is on the line. What do you want to be seen in?
  9. I keep it all in the garage in cabinets... except for those bottles that are dedicated for household use.
  10. I haven't used quick sealant on the shower doors but do use the glass sealant. It lasts for months. Did a side by side comparison between no glass sealant vs glass sealant. After quite a few months I stopped testing because the glass sealant side still looked almost crystal clear and the other side NEEDED a serious cleaning. The entire shower glass area is now treated and looks great. All I do occasionally is use my hand to wipe the glass down when it is wet. Only have to "clean" the glass every 6 months or so and then re-seal the glass.
  11. Good luck with the sale... BTW, since when is a person in their late 40s to 50s considered "elderly"?!
  12. I see the article referring to the issues of protecting one specific industry vs protecting all industries equally. I believe we need changes to accounting standards, tax laws, burdensome laws/regulations and H1-B visa regulations to remove the advantages that corporations see to off-shoring our jobs. My current employer is off-shoring many jobs now because 1) it gets around the approval process needed for head count (internal issues, not national issue), 2) off-shore contract jobs are not reported as cost of sales in quarterly reports, 3) overhead costs are much cheaper (nationalized healthcare isn't helping here - actually is reducing blue color jobs and accelerating a decline in union enrollment). I would agree with the concept in the article that protecting one specific industry will create corresponding burdens on other industries. But if we change the focus on equal protection for all industries with employee safety equally applied across the country then the largest potential losers would be those organizations who are outside of our country who refuse to offer sustainable wages and human rights protection. My $.02
  13. I totally understand the logic of the above thought and 10 years ago would have argued the same thing. However, after my parents bought a Exmark ZTR and I got to use it... I starting using their mower whenever I could. Even without lots of obstacles a commercial ZTR will both ow at least 50% faster AND it will mow better. With a ZTR you begin to realize how much time is wasted with turns and the much higher blade tip speed is much faster allowing for faster ground speed. Besides, arguing that another product is cheaper so it must be better doesn't hold up when talking about our detailing passion, does it? :-) Getting a used commercial ZTR that was used by a one property owner would be a great way to save a few bucks and get a great machine. I haven't used Gravely but have used both Exmark and Dixie Chopper. Both of these are great machines and have differing strengths.
  14. Assuming you don't have any bacteria lurking in the bucket, it should be fine for quite a few days, even a week or more. When you are ready to wash just shoot a high powered jet of water into the bucket and it should suds right up again. I've done this before after a few days and it worked fine for me.
  15. I use 3/4", makes a noticeable difference for the Adams Fire Hose nozzle. But I have a 1" main and 3/4" pipe running to the outside faucet, and can fill a 5 gallon bucket is less than 40 seconds..
  16. Good luck, praying for you!
