  1. No slowness here. Can you try another browser?
  2. I like the front of the new F150 but not the side panels, particularly the fenders. Love the use of aluminum and the 700 lb weight loss, that will be a huge advantage in both fuel economy and acceleration.
  3. Another vote to de-badge. Today's cars have way too much marketing/sales junk all over them. Why do others need to know what engine is hidden under the hood? Or what trim package was purchased? I like seeing a car for its pure design without the labels. And of course there is the added benefit of easier cleaning and less towel snags too!
  4. Remember when movie rentals ended with a 5 minute rewind?
  5. Wow, forgot about those separate keys. This next generation growing up now will be those who will look back and remember "when had had metal keys to start a car"!
  6. In this discussion about pressure making the PC stop - I have never had my PC 7424 stop its oscillation movement, but with with unbalanced light pressure or heavy straight pressure or just grabbing it with your hand you can make the rotation stop. The Flex will never stop the oscillation and will never stop the rotation. In addition the Flex also has a long throw in its oscillation, about twice as long.
  7. I remember the space shuttle first launch, also remember watching the last challenger launch, that was a very sad day. Was in total shock and disbelief.
  8. Remember when Coca-Cola re formulated in 1985? And after a few months we finally got the "old" version back but relabeled as "classic"?
  9. The "View New Content" button has not been showing me anything for the past day or two. It always says there is no new content but if I browse the individual forums I can see new conversations/responses. Is there something wrong? Or is there some setting I need to change?
  10. ^^^^^ I agree. New tires have some stuff on them that is tough to remove the first time.
  11. Remember when we had CB radios during the 70s? And in cars you could get the factory radio option to have it built in so you had a AM/FM/CB combo?
  12. Remember when we didn't have graphical user interfaces on computers and operating any computer meant dealing with a textual prompt such as "C:\"?
  13. 8 tracks, 45s, LPs, cassette tape, CDs, VHS/Beta wars, Colecovision, Atari, 110 film cameras, 126 film cameras, 35mm cameras... It is amazing to see how much technology has changed in 25 years.
  14. Love this thread! Remember the $.10 deposit on the 16oz glass coke bottles? As a young teen I would ride my bike around town and look for discarded bottles on the side of the road and would then return them to get some money. Would then take that money and buy items and take them to school to sell for a markup. This was the late 70s and early 80s and usually had $20-$40 in my pocket that had originally started as money "found on the side of the road". Saved hundreds of dollars and spent some too, based on these deposit bottles. I remember when car engines were simple...climbing into the engine bay and sitting on a wheel well while pulling spark plugs, replacing a distributor cap or an alternator. I remember life before cell phones and the dangers child abductions, would take off and play with my friends for hours in the woods and just had to be home in time for dinner.
  15. Amazon's margin in the most recent quarterly results was less than 0.5% - I believe that was after all their expenses including R&D. Shipping costs are going up for everyone, ultimately someone has to pay the costs. I agree that you have to watch the prices on Amazon, sometimes the "prime eligible" items are priced higher than the non-prime items. But I have gotten spoiled by the 2 day shipping with Prime, waiting a week for an order from Adams HQ tries my patience. If the prices are the same I will definitely use Amazon Prime for filling the small orders and order from Adams HQ for my larger restock orders. The amount of time and gas that I save each year using Prime definitely pays for the annual prime membership fee for me.
  16. Have you tried the leather cleaner? We had a Toyota 4Runner that had house paint on the leather steering wheel for 2 or 3 years. Tried various things to clean it and it wasn't coming off so I gave up and just accepted it. Then I found Adams and after trying the exterior products finally used the interior products. The leather cleaner full strength softened the paint and two cleanings removed it all! Love that stuff! Let us know what works for you.
  17. I will definitely look for this. Have been a prime member for 5 or 6 years and love it. Will be ordering more often with smaller orders now.
  18. It has been over 10 years since I have been on one of those types of JD seats but you should be able to use basic mild soap and water. If that that didn't work than the suggestion that Ryan gave would be my next level of intensity. As I recall the seats have a slight roughness to make them non-slip, JD doesn't want the liability of people slipping off the seat and getting injured. But that non-slip surface not only grips the operator but also grips dirt. The leather conditioner may help make subsequent cleaning easier but the nature of the seat surface design and it's operating environment will pose a constant challenge to keeping it clean. Be sure to post before and after pics, always fun to see something different being detailed. :-)
  19. This just depends on how much extra money you have available to you. Depending on how much you have available, giving a car can be as easy for some people as giving a $20 gift is for others. And like any sized gift, the giver receives tons of joy in seeing what the gift does for others. If giving the gift is stressful or not affordable then it usually won't happen.
  20. That should be safe, though it wouldn't be our usual try the least aggressive method first. Many of the commercial bug and tar removers are kerosene or mineral spirit based. The biggest damage you probably had experienced would have come from the scratchy rag they used.
  21. The body is different, wider front fenders covering an additional 2+ inches and 3 inches in the rear. Rear view is different due to the width change. Front hood is different and some vent changes. Greenhouse remains the same from what I have seen.
  22. Need to see better pics or see in person. For me there are some cool points on the car but based on these pics the outgoing model seems to be more aggressive, athletic and muscular. Ford has done some cool things over the recent few years with some of the other cars but they have also done some very uncool things too in more distant past. Really hoping this isn't a repeat of the mistake they made with the Mustang II (1974). Really hoping that it looks better in person.
  23. Ordered a bottle of this on the Black Friday sale. Looking forward to trying it out to see how it stacks up against MSS, QS and a competitor product. Really hope the longevity has improved for intense sun applications as the MSS hasn't done well for me on a dark colored car that is in the Florida sun all day. The quick cure time is a definite plus, making it easier to do quicker turn around on details.
  24. x2 - I NEVER go out on the crazy shopping days... spent time detailing two cars over the weekend and of course put in my order for restocking Adam's supplies.
