  1. Ok, so besides the car uses, do you have any good uses that you have found around the house? In the house I am already using All Purpose Cleaner, Detail Spray, Glass Cleaner, Brilliant Glaze, Clay and of course some towels... just wondering where Revive Polish will fit in!
  2. Like Chris said, using a polish will clean up the window nicely. Personally I like to strip the sealant first (using APC) then use the Severe Swirl and Haze Remover with the 4" focus pads and after that I use a couple drops of Fine Machine Polish and a couple drops of Revive Polish, then wipe down with Glass Cleaner. Glass looks great afterwards. This process takes me about a minute for each piece of glass on the side and 3-4 minutes for the windshield. Did a little write-up on how this works for me: http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/detailers-write-ups/17120.htm
  3. Just want to be sure you understand which products correspond to what you are expecting. If you are wanting a longer lasting product (like what you were used to with Rejex) then the Adam's corresponding product would be the Machine Super Sealant. It lasts around 6 months in the Florida sun. Like Rejex, Machine Super Sealant needs the 12 hr cure time before putting anything on top of it. I find that the Machine Super Sealant gives a better shine than what you were used to. Then if you want that extra 'pop' or depth to the shine you can layer the Americana on top (after the 12 hr cure time). You don't need the Machine Super Sealant, just wanted to be sure that you understood that Adam's had a product like the one you had. Look forward to seeing your pics!
  4. I LOVE IT!!! Pro-line: SMAT Polishes More aggressive pads Rotary Polishers What else?
  5. Like Chris said, be sure you have two different pads, one for the upper portion of the car and the other for the dirtier lower sections of the car. Also, remember that the pads aren't used to scrub the surface of the car, they are used to gently agitate and loosen the dirt/film. For me (and in helping train others) I have found that the initial rinse needs to be re-learned. I used to think the purpose of the initial rinse was just to wet the car down but instead had to learn to think of it as a time to try to blast off as much of the dirt as possible. Using either the firehose nozzle or a pressure washer can be used for this. Normal garden sprayers won't do a good enough job. Learning the importance of the initial rinse was an important step in my avoiding new swirls.
  6. Don't worry about your water pressure, just your water volume. Small pressure washers don't require huge GPM, mine requires only 2.5 GPM. Take your hose with no nozzle and fill a bucket for 1 minute, how many gallons did you get? Don't forget that a small hose diameter will constrict the GPM.
  7. Don't have 3000psi unit here but a 2400psi Karcher unit with a 5hp engine. It is around 10 years old and the only thing that I have needed to do is add gas, change oil and replace an o-ring gasket. Getting ready to replace another 0-ring soon and replace the pressure hose. I have used an electric unit my parents have and after having the gas unit... wouldn't want the electric unit as the cleaning power is much less. The electric unit works, just takes much longer to get the job done. But I don't have a foam lance and no plans to get one... though they do look like fun!
  8. Strange, no problems here either, same bottle, over a year old. I did once notice a little white dried substance on the tip, scratched it off and it hasn't happened since.
  9. I use it on the stainless appliances. And learned the hard way that I need to use APC on the floor afterwards to remove any detail spray that hits the floor. Detail spray makes our sealed tile floor very very slippery.
  10. Welcome Gary! Great car!! For a daily driver I like to use the Machine Super Sealant and if I want more therapy time I will hand apply Americana (the MSS needs to cure 12 hours before adding anything on top of it or haze can occur). I don't use the Machine Super Sealant on our Vette since it isn't a daily driver but just use Americana as I love the deep wet look it gives. In our Florida sun, especially in the summer months, I find the Americana will last roughly 2-3 months, seems to be as short as 2 months on darker colored cars and around 3 months on lighter colored cars. You mentioned covering the car, I used to do this, but covering a car that isn't perfectly clean WILL introduce new swirls/scratches. After doing multiple corrections to my daily driver, a Mazda6, I finally realized that my covering the car was actually hurting more than helping. Finally threw my cover away for that car. I will cover the Vette, but ONLY after I just finished washing the car and putting it away in the garage. If the car has been driven I will NOT cover it as minor swirls and scratches will occur. Great to have another Vette owner in the Adam's family!!
  11. Happy to see you back on here! Hope your recovery continues and you get your mobility back.
  12. I haven't detailed an ATV but I wouldn't want to smear silicone all over the machine. Those greasy products might help repel water but they will also hold dust and dirt too. If you have some available I would try the spray Quick Sealant as the protection. Great water repelling characteristics AND it isn't greasy.
  13. Regarding the issue around miles per gallon, I know that the euro versions of our cars have had better miles per gallon as the guy in the video stated. I remember reading about the smart car years ago and thinking it would be cool if it came to the states because it was getting around 70 mpg. Of course when it did finally get here it fuel economy was roughly half of the euro version. Does our gov't really want to lessen our dependence on foreign oil? Maybe some in the gov't do but the people who make the decisions are influenced by special interest groups. Regarding the loss of tax revenue -I am not sure the gov't is really concerned about losing the tax revenue. I don't get the impression our gov't is really concerned about balancing income and expenses. Our gov't doesn't seem to really take deficits to heart, so why would they care if they lost a little gas tax revenue. Besides, we have one-time "gas guzzler" taxes, they could just as easily create some "gas miser" taxes. The one thing we as american's need to give up in order to get better fuel economy is horse power. These high fuel economy engines don't put out the same power or torque curves that we are accustomed to having. Personally I would like to have powerful cars and also the choice of high fuel economy cars. Powerful cars for hauling and fun and high economy for daily drivers.
  14. Do we need a thread just for practicing "reporting" others??
  15. I could create some ****** post so that you could report it!!
  16. In the lower left hand corner of a post (not the bottom of the thread, but the post) there is a little icon with a black exclamation mark in a red triangle. This is the icon used to report a post.
  17. I know they will fix/adjust it for you!! They have the best customer service! When your GF called in for the return label did she also place a new order for the products that you wanted? If so, was this new order costing the additional amount you saw charged? I have found that Adam's customer service is focused on meeting your needs and putting the product you want in your hands as soon as possible - even putting that before they worry about getting the other product back (and I learned this from personal experience). A quick call to Adam's will resolve this. The forum is great for resolving product related questions, tips, techniques, etc. but isn't the best way to get an order related issue resolved.
  18. Oh... one last reason... My neighbors have clean car envy and have learned that they watch how I wash the cars. I have even had a clinic for a couple of them. Have heard from others and they have joked that if any of their friends want to know how to wash a car they just tell them to come over on a Saturday and setup a chair to watch me to learn the proper technique to get a car that looks like it is new. So that puts the pressure on me to have integrity and never compromise technique!
  19. 2 Bucket Wash for me! For the following reasons: 1) I don't want to introduce any more damage to a car's finish. 2) I like to take a few pictures before any correction but after the wash. Good before and afters are important for the customer to see and know the difference between what the wash does and what the correction accomplishes. 3) I also see the 2 bucket wash as important to also maintaining the wash pads in their cleanest possible state.

    Ford Edge

Historically I have NOT been a fan of Ford. But they seem to have really improved quality, improved interiors and overall design in the past few years and am now open to having a Ford. I think the Edge is very cool with the black and chrome sport wheels, white platinum tri-coat, black grill, black running boards and dark tinted windows. Saw another one yesterday like this and it is a real head turner. Very cool!
  21. Quick Sealant is good to use BEFORE the bugs, when the car is clean. It seems to make the finish very slick and the bugs don't stick as much. Quick sealant is used on clean paint. When I have bugs on the car, I use Waterless Wash as a presoak. This softens the bug carcasses and makes them much easier to remove.
