Here's a few from a 2009 Honda Accord, with 88k miles, that we have in the shop right now....

It's not in the budget, for this car to get "perfect." But with our Light Polish Revival Service, and Adam's Polishes, here's what we're getting!

One of the most rare & sought after Corvettes in the world, came under our care today.  1969 L88 427 Vette.  This car appraised for almost twice as much as my house.  But it was a bit neglected, and we were called in to ready it for a Concours d'Elegance show in Floriday, just a few weeks from now.......

Adam's Correction Polish.  Generic Microfiber hand applicator pad.  Two drops.  Scrub like mad.  Two-three passes.  DONE.

Revive is a great paint CLEANING polish, but it has no cut to it, so using Revive to remove scratches is like trying to wash a car with a wooden wash mit.....does no good, lol.   You need something with cut.

Or if it tickles your fancy, do 1 drop of PCP, and 1 drop of PFP.  But just some good ol' elbow grease and and old generic microfiber applicator.  You need something slim to fit UNDER the door handle.  I found foam doesn't work, because it's usually too soft.  The MF provides a little more heat to the mix.

Chase@InsanePaint reacted to mc2hill in '68 Chevelle SS
I originally spoke to this customer about polishing his Corvette, as he wants to sell it.  Since the weather started to get nicer he decided he wanted to get the Chevelle shined up first for some cruising!

So here is what we are starting with - a 1968 Chevelle SS 396 4 speed.  This is a matching numbers car, with a good frame and floor boards.  The motor rebuild was completed a few months ago and he is ready to drive this beast!
The paint is good shape - swirls and a few RIDS.  The body work on one of the rear quarters is a little rough, but rest is good.

The owner had tried a few things to clean the tires, but I knew APC (http://www.adamspolishes.com/p-121-adams-all-purpose-cleaner.aspx) would do the trick.  I started with a 50/50 mixture of APC& water and it looked ok, but the full strength version cleaned them up beautifully.  For the wheels I just used pre-mixed Car Wash Shampoo with a foaming sprayer.  I used Revive on the trim rings and center caps to clean them up, and of course SVRT for the finish.

I did a strip wash with 2 oz. of Adam's APC and 1 oz of Adam's Car Wash Shampoo in 2 gallons of water.  Since I was washing in the sun, after the stirip wash I mixed up another batch of just Car Wash and wiped the car down again to help neutralize the APC .  After a pool rinse I use the Sidekick to get the water out of the trim and finished with DS and a GWDT.

The exhaust tips were in good shape, just needed a little cleaning.

    Now on to the paint.

It did have some nasty over spray!  I tried the new Adam's Clay Bar for the first time (http://www.adamspolishes.com/p-1004-new-adams-made-in-the-usa-detailing-clay-bar.aspx).  I have to say I LOVE IT!  It is soft, but not sticky.  And as you can see, it works just fine.

The combination that ended up the best was Adam's MF cutting pads (http://www.adamspolishes.com/p-954-new-adams-65-orange-microfiber-cutting-pad.aspx) and Adam's Paint Correcting Polish (http://www.adamspolishes.com/p-942-new-adams-paint-correcting-polish.aspx).  One section pass of 4-5 'movements' with heavy pressure, clean the pads, then add more polish.  I did another section pass of 3-4 'movements' with heavy pressure then 2 'movements' with no pressure to finish.  With this process I did not need to follow with a finishing pad & polish.

(Sorry, I only had one good 50/50 shot)

This car took much longer than I expected.  I did not realize there was so much 'acreage' to cover, even with a vinyl top.  The trunk was 6 sections and the hood was 12!

The bumpers had a few scratches, but the MP1 and a metal polishing pad shined them up nicely.  The other trim is original, so I just hit it with Revive.

When I washed the car I scrubbed the vinyl roof with the Adam's Carpet Cleaning Brush (http://www.adamspolishes.com/p-586-adams-carpet-cleaning-brush.aspx).  I applied SVRT and it really darkened it up.

After working a few shows for Adam's I found out how well In and Out Spray (http://www.adamspolishes.com/p-517-adams-in-and-out-spray.aspx) works on Chevy trim.  I hit the badges, center caps, and grill to really bring back the black.

To finish off this detail I used the 'face melter' combo - BG and Americiana.  This combo really brings out the depth of the paint.

I only wiped down the engine compartment with a Utility Towel dampened with Waterless Car Wash.

And this is my favorite shot (this is the actual picture, no editing)

In addition to my new son arriving, we recently got a killer new shop!  So it just seems that I haven't had time to do full writeups on some of the rides we do. I thought I'd have just one good spot, where I can showcase some good before & after pics or 50/50 shots. Whether it be via paint correction, seat resurrections, interior salvation, or engine bay revivals. And that way I can highlight some of our projects, without having to put together a full writeup.  Stay tuned for regular updates to this thread!!

There's a few things I'd like to PRECEDE these pics with first of all:

    1) All polishing in these pictures, is done with either one of the three polishers > Flex 3401, Rupes LHR21 Bigfoot, or occasionally Flex PE14-2 Rotary. The polishes used are either Adam's old 3-step system (no longer available, long gone), but the majority of these are done with Adam's new 2-step correction system & pads, Found here:
ADAM'S POLISHES 2-STEP PAINT CORRECTION SYSTEM

    2) All interior work in these pictures, is handled by Adam's interior products. In our interior details, we introduce steam cleaning as an additional cleaning tool for the tight areas. But usually, in what I do, heavy cleansing is needed, therefore we go straight to this combo on the seats, steering wheels, and door panels:
ADAM'S POLISHES INTERIOR KIT - ADAM'S TOTAL INTERIOR DETAILER

    3) All engine bays in these pictures, are cleaned & nourished with Adam's products. We believe in a non-greasy, non-attractive CONDITIONING treatment for the plastic and rubber components, not "cheap dressings" used by other shops. For healthy cleaning & conditioning, here's what we use:
    ADAM'S ALL PURPOSE CLEANER - ADAM'S DETAILING BRUSHES - ADAM'S SVRT - ADAM'S IN/OUT SPRAY

    4) All photos taken are our property, taken with no filter, no glazes, no waxes, no fillers. The paint pictures are taken RAW, to show pure results, unfiltered!!! We have the incredible great fortune, at Insane Paint Auto Detailing, to have a professional automobile photographer as part of our team/staff/posse (or whatever you wanna call it, lol). So any shots you see with "B Birdwell Photography" are courtesy of his mad skill. However, like always, they are undoctored.

We will start with our most recent project, a HIGHLY neglected 2004 Audi A4. Here it is, taped up before polishing, to show the soon coming 50/50 pic. HEAVILY oxidized hood, roof and trunk.

Just another angle on the same oxidized hood, prepped for polishing.
