  1. only time I have done that was when the dealership did warranty type work for me without charging me, my warranty was up. So since they saved me around $1800 bucks I decided to give them a surprise when I returned their car. If ever getting over the top service from a detailer you gotta return the favor somehow, cause that rarely if ever happens.
  2. nice pick up man! you still have the blue jeep? those raptors have always been on my eye, lots of guys go to them before or after our jeep SRT8.
  3. nice work man! I love doing these C63's. Have a guy booked in a bit with a new black edition and should be a treat. Thanks for getting me too pre-excited now man! haha
  4. Ill have to try that too! all kinds of all purpose cleaners have killed the scum on boats I have done. I have done so many boats/jet skis' I only attempted the first one long ago without my rotary. You are a brave soul to attack 4 without one, since I am natural with my rotary that really comes in handy when someone comes to me about a boat, easy to pound out.
  5. just to keep in your mind too guys, seem to be ignoring the fact of the substrate the paint is on. From aluminum, fiberglass, carbon fiber, there are all different factors that you need to think of as well. For example most of the Ferrari's I do can have special order paint, and in that example those are taken off the line across the street and custom painted, and have varied greatly from "regular" run cars. Roshan's list is pretty good, if anyone wants to learn more google a list and you will see the overall idea for general manufacturers. Just remember there are always outliers and a test spot is always your best bet.
  6. Thanks alot man! Wish there was more pics, but the finals just show how white can shine. Thank you sir!
  7. Huge shout out to: Adams All Purpose Cleaner -Destroyed scum lines -Foam foot pads with years of scum, soaked and power-washed off -Removed mold on handle bars -APC/Detail spray mix clay bar combo Adams paint correcting polish used a bit before I got told I would have half the time i was told before, so had to pick out a heavier compound for the time I had to quicken the pace, along with picking up the flex pe rotary to let the gel coat have the heat it loves so much. If you are going to detail a boat, order tons of APC, it is magic on boats and made this job much easier to accomplish.
  8. Hey guys, heres the jet ski I just finished up for my neighbor, needed some major love but nothing I couldn't take care of. This ski is usually beached up on the shore so the lake-scum line was quite pronounced, which took a good amount of effort to rectify. Good amount of marring on front guard Cleaned up
  9. multiple threads somehow please delete 2 of the three mods.
  10. Hey guys, just getting around to posting up a few details and even though I only have finished pictures they still look great. This was my neighbors wifes new vehicle, and I can say that porsche has greatly increased the interior of the cayenne since the last gen. Another fun thing I found as I worked it over is that it was a diesel! Anyways enjoy this beast and how white can shine! -2013 Porsche Cayenne diesel -1 stage polish and seal, quick interior cleanup Unfortunately like every other car manufacturer they will never live up to detailer standards out of the box. Even though this was a single step cleanup polish, I found several sanding scratches that needed to be compounded as well to get them out. Key products in this detail were: For wheels/wheel wells http://www.adamspolishes.com/p-117-adams-all-purpose-cleaner-refill.aspx http://www.adamspolishes.com/p-411-adams-20-fender-brush.aspx http://www.adamspolishes.com/p-512-adams-super-vrt-tire-trim-dressing.aspx
  11. great news! best adams towel IMO, been a gift for many friends to properly dry their car.
  12. removing isnt too hard, you can do it. ive removed plenty to polish up.
  13. yeah no problem, I wont clog up chases thread too much but he can chime in too as he's familiar with it as well. But most of that you have correct there is a time saving element to it once you get the hand of it, quiet and balanced. Yeah man the gen 3 pads walk and pull hard on the flex, Adams corrected that way better with the gen 4 pads and that helped A TON. My biggest other complaint with the flex is the heat produced and with my microfiber cutting pads sometimes the heat produced just destroys them and hurt my product cost and that is with no extra pressure on the machine if any. With foam pads the flex is great (i.e. gen 4 pads), but with lack of ventilation it just isnt what I am looking to grab all the time on a heavy correction (and if heavy most of times I grab for rotary). But yeah little pressure is needed and much like flex the weight of the machine works just as well and keeps it moving. That being said it is an expensive machine that I really only see being necessary when you move more into corrections for money as me and chase are doing and need that time is money aspect. Another thing to think is dont fix something that isnt broke, the flex works great and until the point where the time saved makes monetary sense than there is really no reason for it IMO, unless you just happen to have $400 bucks sitting around haha.
  14. pick up a rupes man, its the one machine so far I havent regretted at all. Right now my stable is much too large with what I think 6-7 machines laying around, I need to downgrade to a few here soon haha. Many people say its like the "flavor of the month" but imo it has a great feel and balance and has worked great with many combos of pads/polish.
  15. pressure washer is the best! some of the ferrari's have them I work on and high end bmw and pressure washer get a good amount out alone. takes a bit but works great!
  16. Gotcha! yeah Ive played around with mine but like you said I already have 4" drill kit and griots 3" and 3" adapter for gen 3 griots...and 3" for flex pe haha. Im a bit obsessed with small areas, ill have to take the big cyclo off the shelf and play with it more, have too many machines at this point. The results speak for themselves on your writeup, looks amazing man! guy better be ecstatic!
  17. beautiful man! from the pictures looks like some scratches right up to the edge of door panels, thats always fun to deal with. Also glad to see your liking the rupes, shes a beaut. Also saw you used cyclo on this one as well, was that personal preference or found a specific reason to use it places?
  18. Thank you sir! Thanks man! Love my italian women
  19. Thank you sir! Thanks man! Love my italian women
  20. Yes sir! thanks alot, was a pleasure to work on this modded up 360. yes! Giallo Modena, se magnifique! haha
  21. Im fine with it. Only thing I dislike is the picture dilemma. I used to like doing whole write ups with descriptions with each picture for people, now hosting out makes that more difficult and I know alot of people would rather just have it here. Besides that its much cleaner and looks good!
  22. Hey guys, havent posted up in quite a while but I have been busy as I am going back to school and taking summer classes so 6 weeks for a class that should be 16 is a bit intense lol. Anyways I received a inquiry about cleaning up this Giallo Modena 360 as he had heard of my high-end work and trusted my familiarity with Ferrari's. Upon inspection is was very evident that the previous detailer whom worked on it had not been the most professional or familiar with these cars. I found compound and wax in just about every crack and crevice it could be in, along with several other angering problems addressed below. I was not aware before that the car was wrapped so that lead to many other problems that the person who applied/removed was obviously not familiar with this car or the msot professional. After all was set and done, 2 hot days later she came out great and proper the way she should look. Thanks for looking and questions welcome! Main problems addressed: -Full correction -Wax/Compound cleanup -Plastics cleanup -CF correction -Re-trim poor clear protection application -Wet-sand severe damage -Clean up wrap residue/misc from previous owner http://s1140.photobucket.com/user/MichiganSRT8/library/2000%20Ferrari%20360%20Modena?sort=2&page=1 Few finished pics
  23. like other have said, people will always walk. No matter how cheap your prices are someone will always think its too much, I promise you this. I told a guy I would wet sand his entire car (old beater, his request) and make it perfect for $200, he is a family members close friend, he said maybe $100, I told him I politely decline and walked away from that. I cant tell you how many people I have had to turn away because the work just would not be prudent with the amount they think should be paid. You wait for the right client to come to you, cant take it personal and only thing you can do is to leave that person with a good image of yourself and not come off as a d!ck. I have found the biggest thing is let your work speak for itself, I do not do much marketing but have almost exclusively high end clientele (ferrari/lambo/porsche) and if you do good work, they will come, and pay . Stay strong brother and stay with your prices, for a side guy those are just great for the work you will be doing, don't second-guess yourself.
  24. I went out and picked one up last year after many close calls. Valentine one and beltronics are highly touted but my escort 9500ix has saved me many of times (knock on wood). My favorite part of it is how it learns signals from stores security systems and stuff as you drive in the same area and saves them so they dont come up and eliminates the false signal, dont need to even press anything. Not that any cops notice my big black brick anyways ; ), perks of a fast SUV.
