  1. Xpel is fantastic and they do rate based on vehicles. When we had it put in my wife's Camaro the installer said it is one of the most difficult vehicles to work on because of the contours. A month later it had to be taken off and reapplied because it wasn't right. Xpel rates that as 4 of 5 stars in difficulty.

When I went to out it on my Volt, it was also rated 4 of 5. I may have considered doing it myself, but if a pro that had done hundreds of installs had troubles with a 4 of 5......

  2. We're still friends Gary lol, how many cars did you get from your first tub of Americana? I've done my truck three times so far and probably still have enough for three more. I read it somewhere in this forum a little goes a long way.

Joe, if your truck isn't a semi with trailer, you are using too much wax. You should get closer to 20 uses from a tub. Next time you wax, do a test section and put on the thinnest coat you can imagine, and then use less for the rest!

  3. I'm going to revive an old topic...I received a yellow wedge last year in a mystery box and have yet to use it.  I am finding myself doing more rinseless washes as things are getting cold in the north.  Has anyone tried the wedge with rinseless washes, I've been using several MF towels folded into 4's and moving to a new towel after the 4th side is used never putting a used towel back in the wash media.

I wouldn't use it for rinseless. (Actually, I have two and don't really like them). I use MULTIPLE towels so that I never have to put a dirty wash media back into the rinseless bucket.

  4. So did the soaking method save the towels? Curious bc I love h20 GG but have noticed the towels becoming hydrophobic (think that's the right word) and not soaking up liquid's at all, have also seen a few threads on here recently concerning this issue as well.

Yes, soaking saved the towels. They were getting pretty hydrophobic, but now, while stained, are back to normal. That soak came after a few uses of hgg, I think I'll soak every time now.

  5. The HGG can do a number on towels.  When I started using HGG, I was using Double Softs.  After a few applications, they were pretty well shot.  I soaked them in a bit of MFR and hot water for a few hours and this is what I came back to:

Soak away - it pulled all of that out of the towels!

  6. Wow, some of you folks need to drive in the snow belt during the winter time...you'll find a new found respect...err PASSION for windshield washers.

I live where we get lake effect snow (so, yes, absolutely snow belt) and I haven't purchased windshield washer fluid in years. i just keep a nice coat of glass sealant on the cars. Heck, I barely need to use my wipers.
