Owner came and got his car the other day. It was sunny and managed to get some quick sun pics. It was 100* so I didn't want to hang out too long out there.
Perfection in the sun as expected.

    Next up 2014 camaro ss
It's in pretty rough shape for only 20k miles. The current owner just bought it and is lookjng to have it saved.

    Little scuff

Stickers should never go on paint. This will be removed.

    Generally dirty

Wheels are bleeding out due to adams deep wheel cleaner.

Getting the iron oxide out of the paint as well

This is why I'll never own black wheels. Haven't talked to the owner yet to see if he wants me to address this.

    Typical swirls and scratches

    Fixed

Wrapped up the final bits today. Part of the final bits was addressing the vinyl. It was in pretty sad shape. Lots of water spots/etching and some kind of weird stains/marking on the rear spoiler vinyl.
    Before

Cleaned and treated. Came out flawless.

No more water spots. Perfectly smooth.

No more weird marks on the back

    Car all done and outside.

    NO more sticker residue

Some fun reflection shots from last night right after I cleaned off the sealant residue

22 hours in 2 days is rough.

So a client I take care of.....well everything of theirs (cars, jet skis, etc) brought me his DD for a single stage polish and ceramic coating. Surprisingly enough a single stage polish got out about 90% of defects.

    Typical swirls

Wheels bleeding out. Which I found interesting considering since I wouldn't predict that on a Caddy like this.

Foam cannon laying down a nice thick layer of foam

    Scratch before

    All gone

    More swirls

    After...swirls all gone

Zero reflectivity or shine in this paint here.

    Much better

After in the sun....swirls are gone as are most defects.

    After

Didn't get many full after pics as I was hustling to get this done.

People falsely get intimidated by the eraser wheel and assume it'll damage paint easily - fact is that the wheel is quite safe to use if you follow the tips provided above. Just keep it moving. The material is designed to crumble and fall apart as a dust as its worn away (like a pencil eraser on paper) so the potential to damage to paint is actually quite low.

The only real chance for damage is from high heat and thats if you hold the thing in one place for a long time or apply pressure to it. If you stop frequently to check temp, keep the wheel moving, and don't press hard even the most unskilled person can use one safely.

I've lost count of how many badges I've removed with the wheel, full pin stripes, etc. On the black AP dually I removed a stripe that ran the entire length of the truck - think of that... a crew cab, long bed dually. Did the entire thing with 1 wheel in an afternoon and not a bit of damage.

Don't let the fear mongers plant seeds of doubt, it really is the easiest way to remove the badge residues.

Then you need a coating. It will help. It won't eliminate. But it would help for sure. Pm if you want ideas.

Hold up there professor. You drive a Porsche yet don't think a ceramic coating is worth the price?     A good one costs like what.....$80 for the kit.  Especially if it'll save you from having to polish a black car as often? Def do some research then, it'll save you a world of headache.

I'd put a good ceramic coating on that mofo ASAP! Will it help keep 100% of swirls away.....nope, but it'll help substantially coupled with proper washing techniques. Sadly adams doesn't offer one yet, but there are quite a few user friendly coatings out there for newbs and the protection is incredible. Just google search.

I hear ya. I don't have the time anymore to spend hours out in the garage polishing. If I do it's normally on clients cars, so mine get "neglected". I can't stand them being swirled up and coatings have been my life saver. Make washing a breeze. After a foam cannon spray and rinse down before 2 bucket wash, there isn't really any visible dirt/dust left on them. So a quick foam again and 2 bucket wash makes quick work of clean ups with limited chances to induce swirls/RIDS.

Yup, this....and Gloss coat is my weapon of choice. Although I have Dlux on my wheels/plastics. Which is all part of why I want adams to come out with something.

I use something similar every single time I wash. I use the 40* white nozzle everytime. I get close if need be, but be smart about it.....naturally. Don't do it near chipped or failing clear, or you'll be in a world of hurt. Does great on my wheels. I barely need to touch them after and it cleans up the white letters on my wheels almost instantly.

Red pad with revive on the flex on speed 2. Medium arm speed as you don't want much if any heat on that vinyl. I tend to stop RIGHT as I start to see the polish flash. It takes some working with to get it to finish down just right on every different kind of vinyl. Biggest thing to remember is you don't want to generate heat and you don't want anything with much of any cut or else you'll wreck vinyl. Also don't try this on XPEL vinyl covering....and for the sake of the future any self healing vinyl. Reason being is I'm not sure what the results would be and would rather not have someone be pissed at me who tried it on some XPEL type vinyl.
